How Long Does Alcohol Get Out Of Your System

I want to have a few drinks this weekend and I was wondering how many days I should be off. ## Hello, Viiby! How are you? It would really be best to stay on your medication and forgo the alcohol. It tends to exacerbate the side effects, so it could make you more dizzy, drowsy and nauseous than usual. Even if you stop taking it, you're likely going to experience some withdrawal effects, which will probably also be worsened by the alcohol. If your doctor approves of your imbibing, then please make sure that you aren't driving. Viibryd has a half-life of 24 to 25 hours and it takes 5 to 6 half-lives to be fully processed out of your body, so you'd be looking at needing a break of at least 5 to 6 days, but as I said, that doesn't do away with the possible withdrawal effects....

Hello everyone! I don't drink alcohol as a rule but I had a couple of beers yesterday. I'm on suboxone and was wondering if alcohol adheres to the suboxone or will it be out of my system in a few days? Please, someone tell me. ## Hi Rosie, How are you? If you had say, about three drinks in one hour, my findings suggest that it would probably take your liver roughly 3 hours to metabolize those drinks; even if it's just beer as opposed to hard liquor. Additionally, using suboxone and drinking has also reportedly been linked to severe cases of central nervous system depression, respiratory distress, falling into a coma, and even death. Definitely not something I'd take lightly if you find yourself being pressured to drink when you know you're not supposed to. I hope thi...

I am going to a reunion on nov.11th.and i take 900mg.of neurontin and 225mg.of lyrica per day, for 3 months.if I want to drink 5-6 beers at reunion could I stop taking these drugs for 2 days and get it out of my system, so I can safely drink at my reunion ## You can do that, if you wish, but you should consult with your doctor, first. Alcohol can also have a detrimental effect on some medical conditions, so you need to be certain it is safe for you to drink it. Are you taking them for pain or some other condition? In the case of these medications, you are warned against using alcohol, because it can aggravate the side effects, such as nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and CNS depression. ## If your same PCP is giving you Neurontin and Lyrica then he needs his credentials looked over. You ar...

My sister is getting married on Saturday. I took a spoonful of Hydrocodone / Chlorpheniramine ER and was wondering if I could drink beer at her wedding on Saturday? I take 5 milliliters every 12 hours. ## It is the Hydrocodone that is the main concern here, since it is known to react with alcohol far more than the Chlorpheniramine, according to FDA reports. It could cause you to experience more severe side effects than usual, such as dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, sedation, and headache. Unfortunately, you did not list the time frame in between drinking and taking the medication. Can you post back and be more specific? Thank you! ## How long does 10 ml of chlorpheniramine maleate stay in your system? ## Depends if you're a fast or slow metabolizer. On average it's about 5 days. ...

Taking tracleer for ph for years. I'm 26 yrs old & weigh 133 lbs. I was taking 125mg 2x's a day. Blood work had been fine, Dec blood work showed high liver enzymes. All other test fine. I had alot of diarrhea & alittle vomiting. Dr took me off tracleer, still not 100%. ## Hello, Ray! How are you doing? If you were on it for years, it may take a few weeks, before things balance back out and you start to feel more normal, again. Do you take any other medications? Do you drink much alcohol?

how long to get out of system? regardless of amount, example: 24 oz @ 8%, last drank on saturday 7pm ## Based on my research, alcohol is generally out of your body within 3 to 5 days after your last drink. However in my opinion, you always have to take into consideration the amount you drank, since your body can only excrete so much at any given moment. Other individual factors that may also influence this are one's weight, metabolism, eating/drinking habits, and how active you are. Additionally, I would recommend drinking plenty of water throughout the day to encourage a quicker process, but allowing 3 to 5 days is a fair estimate for most people, I'd say. Hope this helps!

After completing the prescription for smz tmp ds, how long should i wait before safely consuming alcohol? ## Hi Mike, The time it will take for the drug to leave your system completely, depends upon how much you've been taking. I would give it at least a few days, just to be safe. From what I can find, the half life of one dose is 10-12 hours. So within 10-12 hours "half" of one dose will have left your system. To speed up the process, makes sure to drink lots of water, exercise, and eat lots of fruit and veggies. I hope this helps! ## For toothache I have been prescribed ketorol dt Can after 4-5 hrs of alcohol drink I can have it

I have been taking trazadone for 2 weeks for sleeping 25mg-50mg a day. I last had 25mg at 23.30 last night and would like to drink this evening frlm 7pm. Obviously I wont take my trazadone tonight but will I be okay to drink? Will it be out of my system? Thanks. ## It is best not to mix it will alcohol, even by skipping the next dose. It can aggravate the side effects, making you experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than usual. However, if your doctor approves of your imbibing, please make sure that you will not be driving or operating heavy machinery. The FDA lists the other typical side effects of this medication as possibly including dry mouth, headache and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

What is the effect of having zapiz 1 mg or more, with alcohol? Meaning: if i have 1and a 1/2 mg of zapiz and then drink alcohol, what would be the affect on my body? need expertise. thanks! ## Zapiz contains the active ingredient Clonazepam, it is a Benzodiazepine that is commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. The main danger that arises from combining it with alcohol is that the alcohol can intensify the side effects, which can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and irritability. The major thing, however, that you have to watch for is the central nervous system depression. The medication causes this, that's how it works and the alcohol can make that even worse. For some people, this can be very dangerous and cause emergency situations or death, because it slows y...

can alcoholics be given restyl during sober periods and what could be the effects if such a person is having a higher BP reading? ## Restyl contains the active ingredient Alprazolam and most doctors will not give it to someone with an alcohol problem, due to the risks to the liver. It is a Benzodiazepine and as to the blood pressure, it can actually help lower that slightly, since it causes depression of the central nervous system. Is there anything else I can help with? ## i am drinking 4 pegs of 60 ml. indian made rum [alcohol, made from sugarcane molasis] from last 25 years, and now i seriously want to quit my daily drinking habit, i am trying not to drink alcohol for 4-5 days, but without drinking of my daily stuff i cannot take sound sleep, for that one of my friend suggest me to st...

Hi I am concerned about a friend mixing xanax and valium with alcohol. please tell me what to look for and is it deadly ## Mixing the 2 pills while not advised is not a great concern. Alcohol shouldn't be used with either medicine. Biggest concern would be when stopping use during a withdrawal? ## I'm sorry, but that's not actually accurate. Mixing them with alcohol can be of very great concern, because it has the potential to be very dangerous. This is due to the fact that both alcohol and benzodiazepines, such as these, can cause depression of the central nervous system. This can lead to lowered heart rate, blood pressure and shallow breathing. Thus, if the person drinks a lot and is taking high doses of these drugs, the outcome could be fatal. You can learn more Xanax det...

What happens when u take teva 74 with alcohol? What are the side affects? ## The tablet with this marking contains 10mgs of Zolpidem, the active ingredient in Ambien, which is used for the short term treatment of insomnia. It should not be combined with alcohol, because both can cause central nervous system depression and using both can enhance this side effect, which could put you in danger of respiratory or cardiac arrest. In addition, they can both cause psychomotor impairment. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on razo 20 for the past two months cause i was diagnosed with acute chronic gastric during the first month i dont not consume any alcohol. from the second month on i have been consuming alcohol. Is it alright to consume alcohol??? what are the side effect???? ## Actually, if you're going to drink alcohol, you're wasting your time and money taking the medication. Alcohol is very harsh on your stomach and the rest of your gastrointestinal system, so it's really just defeating the purpose of taking the Razo. Do you also watch what you eat? If not, then your problem isn't going to improve.

Hi. I take Klonopin maybe four times per month. It isn't a regular medication for me, only for occasional anxiety I get due to a minor heart condition. I took a 2mg tablet yesterday afternoon because it was one of those bad days. It had been at least two weeks since the last time. But, I didn't think about a pool party today and would like to have a few beers. I have read tons about this issue and now would welcome comments from people who may have experience with it. Thank you. ## Hello Blaker34, Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but according to the National Institute of Health clonazepam (Klonopin) has a half-life of 30 to 50 hours. This means that it takes between 30 and 50 hours for your body to metabolize half of the drug that is in your system. It is generally accepted t...

I take 5MG oxycodone 2x a day. Last dose was yesterday 4am and 3pm. Is it safe for me to drink next day, late afternoon? ## Hi survivor, According to research from umm.edu, drinking alcohol with oxycodone in your system can cause potentially dangerous side effects such as difficulty breathing, confusion, dizziness, slurred speech, and impaired cognitive function. For those reasons they recommended that patients avoid alcohol during the course of treatment. The interaction between these two drugs also categorizes it as having a "high interaction potential". This may mean that even just a few sips of something could do you in. Better to play it safe in my opinion. Hope this helps!

0,25 mg Alzam with 2 glasses of wine on tonight's BA flight to London to be able to sleep a couple of hours. Good or Bad? ## Bad! I'm glad nothing happened to you, but you did put yourself at risk. Both the Alprazolam in the Alzam and the alcohol can cause depression of the central nervous system, which may cause lowered rate of breathing, pulse and blood pressure and that could lead to heart or respiratory arrest. Are there any other questions or comments? ## My friend is on the same drug and she wants to find out if she can have a child while taking it? ## I'm on Cotareg for HBP, Nuzak, Dopaquel and Adco alzam for anxiety and depression. Only on weekends I drink beer or ciders. Could that worsen my condition? I have to de-stress.

I was out drinking several glasses of wine and came home and took a teaspoon of cheratussin ac. Is there any risk of interaction? ## Actually yes, there might be, since this medication contains Codeine and should not be combined with alcohol, since both of them cause depression of the central nervous system, according to the FDA. Combining them could result in lowered heart rate, lowered blood pressure, severe drowsiness, severe dizziness, and could be fatal, if too much of each is combined. Did you experience any adverse effects? ## I took Cheratussin 4 hours before I drank a shot and a half of alcohol. Will it be ok for me to go to sleep? I drank the alcohol 2 hours ago.

I had taken a 5mg tablet of valium for my back pain yesterday morning which has been 36hrs ago. I want to know if it's safe or ok to have a few alcoholic drinks tonight? ## "A few" alcoholic drinks? That is like when the cop asks you how many beers you've had, you say "a few"... and the cop knows it's more like 8+. lol. Diazepam has a long half life so it will still be in your system 36 hrs later. I would say that you'd probably be okay to have 2-3 drinks maximum. Anything more than that could be pushing it. It also depends on your tolerance to valium AND alcohol. Back when I was drinking (i'm a recovering alcoholic) I would take up to 2mg xanax a day and drink 30 beers (WARNING: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!). The only reason I didn't die from this is...

what is the safe use of wine and oxycodone 5 325? ## Hello, Jake! How are you? There is none! Both Alcohol and Oxycodone can cause depression of the central nervous system, which may result in extremely low heart rate, blood pressure and breath rate. If they drop too low, it could lead to coma and death. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, when taking a narcotic, it is best not to imbibe. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What a garbage answer. He wasn't asking if he can take at same time, he was asking how long AFTER.
