We got a prescription and the label shows Acetaminophone/Codeine 120mg/12mg SOL. What is the SOL? ## SOL stands for the word Solution. This is not a dosage that is normally available in tablet form. I was taking hydrocodon-acetaminophen 10-325's manufacturer mallinkrt which worked effectively. My doctor, against my wishes, switched me to hydrocodon-acetaminophen 5-325's. After 3 days, I experienced hypersensitivity, sleeplessness, extreme anger and became totally out of control. How do I approach my doctor, without offending him, since he is doing my knee replacement, to switch me back to the original script of 10-325's? ## The best thing you can do is to be honest with him and tell him of the problems you had. I suffer from Hypnic headaches and the only thing that keeps my from waking up with a headache every morning is to take an Extra Strength Excedrin which has caffeine, acetaminophen and aspirin. Go to walmart the prices are better, more like .50 each. ## Sorry you had such a frustrating experience. The reason most places don't list prices for any controlled substance is due to the risk of theft, they don't actually want to put it out there and have people know whether or not they carry them. However, from what I'm finding, the current price for the 5/325 tablets runs about 60cents each on average, of course that will vary from area to area, but you should be looking for a pretty cheap price if you're just getting 10 of them.
