This is the highest dosage unit of immediate release morphine made anywhere, just the one brand, VERMOR-60 by Verve Healthcare. I take them simply because they are much cheaper than any other morphine sulphate I have ever come across, and I need three 'rescue' doses of an opioid analgesic daily since my Oxycontin 120mg tablets seem to last only 6 hours, and not the twelve claimed on the box... Has anybody noticed that the new caplet shaped tabs are subjectively stronger than the old round ones? ## Just as a wee addition to my original post - SEVREDOL is the 'Gold Standard' & most-dispensed brand of IR morphine, being found in most countries (as will be evident to those who use IOPs to acquire medication), & are made in green 50mg, pink 20mg and turquoise 10mg tab... ...

I have been taking ms 60mg for six months. first i received a light tanish round waxy pill with a coating. then 3 months ago i received the same but burnt orange in color. same markings abg and 60. the pharmacy told me that the manufacturer had switched to a different color. idk why, but half of my script was tan and the other orange. 2 months ago i received only orange ones. and then last month i received oblong orange ones marked e655 and 60. these are more chalky and do not have wax. they ARE the same thing only different binders. If you prefer the ones with e655 ask your pharmacist for the ones made by ENDO Labs. ## It is completely normal for your pharmacy to switch what generic medication they provide, at any given time, depending on which manufacturer was offering the cheapest pr... ...

I take morphine 60 mg 2 at a time it has a m on one side 60 on other. I know it's extended release but how much do u get at a time and how long does it last? Plus I can take 5 to 6 30 mgs of oxycodone at a time so how many morphines do I need to equal that? ## Hello, I believe that the absorption rate of any medication is determined by weight and other factors that only your doctor can asses. Is 5 to 6 (30 mg) Oxycodone pills what your doctor prescribed to you? I'm not exactly sure how many grams of Oxycodone will equal 2 (60 mg) Morphine pills, however I do know that Oxycodone is 1.5 times stronger than Morphine. I hope that information is of help to you in some way. If you are considering changing your medication, I recommend that you pay a visit to your doctor. ...

How long does ER 60 mg morphine give pain relief per dose? ## Hi, Jane! How are you? These are designed to slowly release the medication over a period of 12 hours, so they are normally prescribed to be taken twice daily. However, some people do find that they don't get as much pain relief after about 10 hours, or so. Learn more MS Contin details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## how often should you take 60mg morphine tablets? 5 mg morphine withdrawal

I have been tapering off of 60 mgs of morphine for the last 3 months. I've been on it for 10 years. First on 120 mgs then in 2009 went to 90 and then to 60 by 2011, up to 90 for 9 months after tri level fusion in neck between c4-c7. Best thing I ever did was the surgery and it wasn't a bad recovery at all. I'm very happy with it. Anyway now I'm down to 5 mgs and thinking about just stopping. I have heard this part will be the hardest. Is this true? My withdrawals have not been bad and I have worked thru it all. Just nervous. Thanks. ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? That's not a very high dose to stop abruptly, but yes, you will most likely experience some withdrawal symptoms. morphine sulfate 60 & oxycodone 30

I am currently taking 60mg of morphine sulfate ER twice a day and 30 mg of oxycodone HCL four times a day. For some reason I came up short one morphine on the last day of my prescription, so I only have one I can take instead of two until I get my new script tomorrow morning. Instead of taking the last morphine this morning, I waited and took it around 4pm tonight. Will I have withdrawl symptoms from missing a dose of Morphine, but continuing to take the oxycodone 30mg? ## If you didn't have any during the interim, where you didn't take it until much later, then no, you should be fine. Effects of morphine after suboxone

I have taken 8 mg of suboxone for the past 2 days, the last time being last night around 8pm. I just received a prescription for 60 mg morphine for a back procedure and am hoping to be able to take it by tomorrow night. The doctor told me since I only took it for a few days that's all I should have to wait (although I sure felt the shot they gave me!) Does anyone have any experience with this or answers that may help? ## Hello, Lolly! How are you? It usually takes about 72 hours, before other opiates will work, though it could be different for you, since you felt the shot without any issues. If your doctor doesn't feel you need to wait longer, then it is always best to follow their advice. It isn't harmful to try taking another opiate sooner, the Suboxone just prevents them ... ...

PLEASE HELP ME, I am so frustrated. I got a shock last week when I went to pick up my monthly prescribtion of morphine sulfate er 200 mg. I take 3 per day for my pain. I can't seem to find a replacement opiate that is time released the only one I found is oxycontin 60 mg. I get 90 pills every month. The price for the oxycontin is also over $1,000.00. What is going on with this increase? Does anyone have a suggestion on a medicine that is not so expensive? It does not have to be time released. Please help if you can. I have been using 60mg of Morphine IV daily for a year. This past week I used 3-4 8mg Dilaudids daily.Last night I went back to 60 mg Morphine. v.a. taking everyone down from methadone to equal 100 mg morphine
1 Reply RSS
I've been on methadone for 15 years for severe pain (after 25 years in recovery, and fighting with v.a. for 3 + years not to take pain meds). The head of the local v.a. treatment program recommended it to me; The only way I would take it was if I was guaranteed for life. A recent v.a. dr. took me from 120 mg to 90, last year (with no notice) then this year to 60, with no notice "again". Now he says the max they can write is equivalent to 100mg morphine. (Anyone know what that is?) Asked last year to try and come off slowly and see how I can tolerate (I was suicidal 15 years ago when I finally went to them.) He says there's only one dr. in the v.a. system in our state; He's a long way away and already had 100 patients (the amount my dr. says is max.) I realize, by my ... ...

BEEN ON 30 MG OXYCODONE 4 A DAY N 15 MG OXYCODONE 3 DAY FOR BREAKTHRU.ALL R IM RELEASE.SHOULD I CHANGE THE 30 MG TO 60 OF MORPHINE ER.SINCE THE EXTENDED RELEASE WILL LAST LONGER N KEEP THE 15 FOR BREAKTHRU? ## Swapping the Oxycodone for Morphine sounds like a good approach if you need to try something different for tolerance reasons. But with regards to potency, Oxycodone is said to be approx. 1.5x more potent than Morphine on a milligram to milligram basis. So I can't say for certain if 60mgs of Morphine ER will be quite enough to replace Oxycodone 30mgs. It's probably worth trying though since you'd have the 15mg Oxycodone for backup relief. Is your doctor pretty flexible with you wanting to change things up? ## First of all, 30 and 15mg Oxycodone tablets are not immediate... ...

The last time I picked up my meds it was $600.00 for morphine sulfate er 100 mg 60 pills I can't afford this price it was by rhodes pharmaceutical. ## Hello, Billie! How are you? I'm sorry that they've gotten so expensive. The price has gone up in many areas due to a shortage, one usually happens the last few months of most years due to mandatory manufacturing limits, some pharmacies have even been charging people 'shortage fees' on top of the price of the medication. Have you talked to your doctor? They may be able to prescribe a medication that would be cheaper for you. Another thing you can do is ask your pharmacist if they participate in any of the savings card programs and if so, which one would make it cheapest. They are usually free to sign up for and can save... ...

Im on morphine 20ml daily and fentonyl patches 100mg every 3 days I ran out of my pain relief last week n used subutex today. My script is due tomorrow is it safe to take without being in agony??? ## My advice - I currently have a very low tolerance and applied a 100 mcg patch 10 hrs ago. I stopped a 180 mg daily oxy habit of 3 years 2/14. Since 2/14 until now my opiate usage would be 5 30 mg oxy's monthly typically - I've used maybe 25 mcg orally 3 times in the past 5 months and 60 mg morphine plugged a couple times. I have also used subutex a few times I no longer experience opiate w/d and a dose of 30 mg oxy leaves me extremely buzzed for a good 12 hrs. Lortab/Ms Contin

I've been on Lortab for 21 years after back surgery. I also had a morphine pump implant, 3 of them to be exact. But after the last one failed I decided that after 13 years of being stuck in the stomach with needles every 2 months to refill the pump, I wanted it removed permanently. So in addition to the Lortab for pain I was put on Ms Contin(morphine sulfate) 30 mg..But I've found myself going through a vicious cycle with these 2 pain meds and have become very addicted to both drugs. My doctor recently increased the dosage of the ms contin to 60 mg. 3 x a day. Does anyone else take these pain meds? If so what kind of long term effect have they had or do they have on you? Ive been on 60 mg of morphine for one and a half months. How long should I wait after my last dose of morphine before i take suboxone? Does time or withdrawal symptoms matter more? ## How often and how much of the Morphine are you taking? Learn more Morphine details here. Suboxone shouldn't be used, unless you've been seriously abusing a drug and need to treat an addiction problem. Learn more Suboxone details here. Just 6 weeks of Morphine isn't a time frame that would qualify someone as needing Suboxone treatment.
