I have osteoarthritis in my spine, knees and hips and have recently developed severe pain in both arms, extending to the fingers on my right hand, worse on getting out of bed in the morning. I was taking Panadol Osteo two three times a day which didn't really help much so my doctor prescribed Mobic. It helps a lot but not completely so am wondering if I should keep taking Panadol Osteo as well as Mobic? Also, is it necessary to have a few days break from Mobic every so often? I take Sotalol for AF, Perindopril for blood pressure, Apixaban as a blood thinner and Carbimazole for hyperthyroidism. I have asked my doctor and pharmacist these questions but am still confused as to what I should safely do even though I have read all the information available. ## Hello, Janice! How are you? ...

What would happen if you took two or three meloxicams? It sounds as if it would be okay if they work like advil? ## No, it wouldn't be okay. They are much stronger than Advil and even when it comes to Advil, there's a limited number of those that you can safely take at one time. Both Advil and Meloxicam are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories and though they may seem harmless, since some are available over the counter, they aren't. There are some pretty big possible risks associated with taking them, such as internal bleeding, stomach ulceration and liver damage or failure. Learn more Meloxicam details here. And just like any other drug, an overdose could be fatal, so please do not exceed the recommended use amounts or the prescribed dosage. Is there anything else I can help wi...

Can a 15 mg Meloxicam be cut in half? I have reactions to anti-inflammatory and would like to see if I can get by with 7.5 mg but already have a full bottle of 15 mg. ## Generally, if there is a score line on the pill, it is meant to be cut in half for these circumstances. But if there is not one, this can safely be done with any medication that is not time released and/or does not specifically instruct you not to do so. Just be sure to continue to take it as recommended by your doctor. ## Is Mobic (generic for meloxicam) time release ?...just wondering since it is once daily.

I have osteoarthritic hips and run a restaurant, I am on my feet 5-6 hours a day. I currently take meloxicam 3-4 days a week with Tylenol Arthritis. I need something stronger, would Tramadol 50mg be a better choice? Could I take them both in the morning safely? ## Tramadol is classified as an opiate, by FDA standards, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. As to your other question, it depends on what you want to take it with? I'm sorry, but your post wasn't clear. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you!

Hi. I took Meloxicam 15mg tablet for 14 days. it was a white round pill. Doc told me not to take Advil with it but I could take Tylenol. I took the last pill 48 hours ago. How long before I can take Advil? ## Hello, Pearl! How are you? The reason he told you not to take Advil with it is because both it and Meloxicam are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, so taking them together would be doubling up and raises the risk of possible liver damage and bleeding. However, only a few days are necessary between them to safely switch. None of them linger that long. Unless your doctor specifies otherwise. Is there anything else I can help with?
