Hi all, Firstly a disclaimer, if you have just eaten and have a soft stomach, avoid this post. You've been warned. My dentist prescribed a two week regime of Augmentin for minor work that needs to be performed on a tooth. I finished the prescription one week ago. And I still have some odd side effects. Before I started taking this, I had a normal energy level where I could exercise and do my work, etc. Now I have wayyyyyy too much energy and even though I start to feel drowsy at my regular time when I got to bed, I can't fall asleep until 2 -3 hours later. The other effect I've been experiencing are dry lips. This is annoying. There is no change in saliva and my mouth is just as moist as before taking Augmentin. Also during the last three weeks it's been as my appetite h...

I took that to coounter the effects of my antidepressant and it did not make me jumpy. Also adderall is astimulant that actually keeps you more focused if you have attention problems I was told if youy get jittery you do not need to take it ## UMMMM! Me thinks he's loosing WAY TOO MUCH weight. As I've said before, I've been taking either Ritalin or Adderall for years and I...

I suffer from panic attacks and was givin this med for a muscle relaxant. The only problem is I worry because right before I fall asleep I get drowning sensations and I am worried that I'm not going to wake up if I were to pass out. ## Hello, Paul! How are you? What do you mean by a drowning sensation? Do you stop breathing? Do you feel like you're choking? Why were you given this for panic attacks? It won't do anything to help with them. How long before bed do you take it?

Everytime I take my shows of Norco that I've been taking for years it knocked me out and so does my husband I've gotten B's once before and I don't know what's going on it is a different manufacturer called qualitest remember I've been on pills for a long time like 4 years and I've never had a problem with falling asleep or at knocking me out like this so I was wondering if there is anything that you can help me with find out if these are different bills or these are stronger or they change them please let me know thank you ## Drowsiness can be a normal side effect of narcotic pain medications, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Have you always been taking the same dosage? Have you switched medication...

Can you safely take ambien CR while on MS Contin ER 60 mgs? The ms contin makes me sleepy but I still can't fall asleep. I've been taking ambien cr for over a year. My pain Dr. just switched hydrocodone for MS Contin.. any information on this combination will be appreciated. Thanks ## Hello, Heather! How are you doing? It would be best to double check with your doctor, before combining these medications. They both cause depression of the central nervous system, which may be problematic for some people. This might cause dangerously lowered heart rate, blood pressure and breath rate, which could lead to coma or be fatal. The FDA classifies MS Contin as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsines...

please share your experience with this never seen before, less effective drug that two different pharmacy's have given to me in last two months. they make me fall asleep! ## Hi shaun, When you switch brand names or manufacturers, the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it. Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may respond favorably with one medication and not the other (even if they're both Adderall Xr), due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. Although I haven't taken this medication, I can say that they probably have an array of...

A month ago I had BR surgery I was given a script of Percocet a week before so I'll have it ready. Surgery was painful thank God for Percocet. From December 10 2014 and its January 20 2015. Last night was my first night without Percocet I'm just tired of it. I had a hard time falling asleep it was a horrible night. ## Yes, if you've been taking it regularly for a period of time, it is normal to experience some mild withdrawal effects, if you stop taking it abruptly. Along with insomnia, stopping the Percocet may also cause rebound pain, headache, nervousness, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications? How is the surgical recovery going?

Is this round salmon colored pill A~ Ambiem CR? This was a refill and it's not anything like the first prescription. Thanks Yvonne ## Yes, the new tablets are a little different, because they have two layers, one is fast dissolving so you fall asleep fast, then the second layer is time released to help you stay asleep longer. ## I get better results with the original Ambiem that the CR pill -- I found myself taking the CR two hours before bedtime and then sometimes still laying there for awhile. Have you tried Lunesta?

I have been taking this drug for 3 weeks because of continual UTI infections. My Dr. prescribed this and it is working so far except I am having difficulty falling asleep each night until 3 am. I live in the central time zone and this is very late for me. I generally go to sleep around 10-11PM. My Dr. asked me to take this at night before going to bed. Could this procedure and medicine cause sleeping problems? ## Yes, antibiotics can sometimes cause that in some people that take them, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. How much longer will you be taking it?

Been taking metoprolol 25mg tartrate twice daily and by the time I go to bed and fall asleep by bloodpressure spikes during the night. Don't know if the meds have worn off during the night or if I should be taking another pill before bed. Tried to get a hold of my doctor but he is out on vacation. Does any one else have this same problem. I can tell my bp was high cause when I wake in the morning my eyes are blood shot. ## High blood pressure only rarely causes blood shot eyes, it is especially doubtful if it only happens when you are sleeping and goes away. There are a ton of other causes, however, including disrupted sleep. You shouldn't change this medication, without consulting with your doctor, because too much of it can cause unsafe drops in your blood pressure. Have you c...

I told my Doctor that i have trouble sleeping and i have anxiety depression as well as Major Depression and i asked for sleeping pills but she said that urbanol can be used to calm my nerves and then make me fall asleep , is this true because i have been awake for about 68 hours now and i drank my pills every night before i go to bed , so can it be used as a sleeping pill ?? ## Hello, Kobus! How are you doing? Yes, it can, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it may work for you to help you fall asleep. Not every medication works for every person that tries it. Have you contacted your doctor about it? You need to let her know that this one isn't working for you.

I don't feel so confused anymore. Now I know all of you are going through the same thing. My doctor put me on 50mcg of Levothyroxine about a month ago and I have gain 8 pounds! I get short-breathed and winded REALLY easily when working out. I used to go to the gym for 2 hours, now I can't make it longer than 30 minutes. I wake up ALL the time with tingly fingers because my hands have fallen asleep. I have headaches, I feel 100 times more lazy than before...and it's supposed to help your energy, not drain it. I e-mailed my doctor today, this is not making me happy. Not to mention I now have an acne type rash that burns like hell on my chin and I've always had clear skin. If this drug is supposed to make you feel better it sure as sh*t isn't working for me. I feel like...

For the past few months I've been taking CBD a few hours before bed and its been helping my insomnia significantly. They work really nicely for helping me fall asleep and stay asleep. In addition to helping with my sleep, its helped me with my anxiety. One of the best things I noticed about CBD compared to traditional sleeping meds is that I wake up not feeling groggy or drowsy. If you want to get off those strong and addictive sleeping pills I recommended trying CBD oil.

I have been taking .5 mg xanax every night for the last 8 months to fall asleep. It actually works, but I think I'm having side effects. I used to wake up 3 times per night before Xanax, and now I sleep through the night, but I wake up exhausted and sluggish. I'm having memory problems and I don't feel alert. Am I addicted? Can I just stop, since it's such a low dose? Do I have to reduce slowly? It's only .5 mg per night. Any ideas?? HELP! ## Those are normal side effects for Xanax. When you use something regularly and your body is used to having it, it isn't considered addiction, it is actually called dependence. An addict has to keep using more and more of something, because they like the effects they get from it and must keep increasing the amount the use, bec...

How safe is it to use vega 100 regularly? ## Although Vega 100 (Sildenafil Citrate) is considered to be safe for many people, it is recommended that a thorough medical examination should be done to determine whether it is safe for extended or frequent regular use before starting your treatment. Side effects are usually to be expected with most prescription drugs, so I would also remain aware of the possibility of these symptoms while taking Vega 100: • headache • heartburn • diarrhea • flushing (feeling of warmth) • nosebleeds • difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep • numbness, burning, or tingling in the arms, hands, feet, or legs • muscle aches • changes in color vision (seeing a blue tinge on objects or having difficulty tel...

I was placed on 150 MG of Nuvigil 6 days ago as major sleep apnea causes me to fall asleep at my desk or while driving. The second day I felt wide awake all day. The last 4 days I feel no benefits from the dosage. Does it take time to build the drug up in your system or do I need a higher dose right up front. ## Yes, it can take time to reach its full level of effectiveness in your body, so it's best to give it about 4 weeks, before deciding whether or not this dosage works for you, unless your doctor advises otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a stimulant, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, anorexia, appetite loss, nervousness and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been prescribed Zanaflex for almost 2 years for muscle spasms after flexeril didn't work any longer. I also had early stages of RA for which i also take gabapentin, Xanax, and tramadol (I took myself off of Vicodin). Zanaflex has been a life saver for me. I take 8mg before bed and can sleep soundly without waking from painful spasms. The only downfalls are that I have become physically addicted, I cannot fall asleep without my zanaflex. Without it I will stay up for days, no fun! Also, it causes the most extreme drowsiness ever! Taking zanaflex during the day with four kids running around is not an option. ## HI, Mattison! Thanks for your informative post, I am sure others will gain benefit from what you've shared. As to being addicted, I am of the opinion that you're...

Lopressor 25mg I have been on Lopressor 25mg for about 6 months, prescribed by my cardiologist for irregular heart beat and palpitations. I take it right before bed with a glass of water. More nights than not I wake up many time thru the night and lately I have been having trouble falling asleep. My heart beats irregularly when I lay down but if I get up and sit in a chair all is well. I would like to change the time I take the pill from night to morning. Is it safe to skip my nighttime dose and take it the next morning instead? Thanks in advance for your help. ## Hello, Harvey! How are you? I would suggest checking with your doctor, before making a change. It sounds like this medication just isn't lasting you a full 24 hours, so something needs adjusted. Were you originally instruc...

I occassionally like to take Melatonin to help me fall asleep. Tomorrow night I need to get to bed extra early and I know that just taking a Melatonin will not do the job. I have some leftover Ambien so I was wondering if there are any implications to taking both Ambien and Melatonin before bed tomorrow? ## There are no interactions listed, but this site is not medical professionals and not all supplements, such as Melatonin, are studied for possible interactions with medications. Why would you need to use both, anyway? I'd think it would just be wise to use the Ambien if needed and skip adding the other, just to be on the safe side. Do you have any other questions?

Have been diagnosed with hypothyrodism - always tired can fall asleep anywhere, hair loss, brital nails. Dr tried synthroid, levothyroxin, levoxyl - because I have stomach ulcers after I take these for a few days I have terrible stomach pains. It takes about 3 - 4 weeks of donnatal to get my stomach back to normal. Is there anything else I can try. ## Have you tried taking anything else for the stomach issues? You may need to resolve that, so you can keep taking the necessary thyroid medication. It might be necessary to take something the night before you take your medication, or with an hour or two wait, in between. There are various products on the market to treat such issues, but you should take to your doctor to determine which one is best for you to use.
