what else would cause methadone toshow up in a urine test ## The only thing that would show up as Methadone is Methadone if they are testing for the specific drugs. Most standard urine tests do not, they just test for drug classes and concentrations, such as opiates, Benzodiazepines and Amphetamines. Are you currently taking some sort of opiate? There have been many posts recently about false positives on urine tests, so it makes me wonder if there is possibly a bad batch out there. ## they have to be testing for methadone specifically....otherwise it doesnt show up!! I have been on Methadone for 8 years! My first few months in the methadone clinic a came up "dirty" due to being scared of withdrawal but since than I gave had almost 8 years of clean time. I have "earned" all 6 of my take homes( in PA your only allowed 6 at a time) and have had them for years now. In November,2012 I get a call from my counselor telling me that methadone didnt show in my urine, I was current on 48mgs. I also had an UTI at the time and was getting over Bronchitis and pneumonia, so I was on medications I normally wouldn't have been taking. I have some hair that I collected after my son 19 yrs old, and they claim it was a methadone overdose however urine and blood was negative for any drugs. they said they did a gas chromatography and they claim a small amount was found. I live in Scotland and I have my first appointment to see a doctor for methadone next tuesday but I am still showing benzos in my urine even though I haven't had any for a few weeks. Alot of people keep telling me I might not get my script as the doctors are quite strict with prescribing methadone when showing benzos in urine. I've passed many a five panel with dones in my system.
