I have been taking 60mg of Morphine daily for a year. This past week I took 3-4 8mg Dilaudids daily. Last night I went back to 60 mg Morphine. I have taken 8 mg of suboxone for the past 2 days, the last time being last night around 8pm. I just received a prescription for 60 mg morphine for a back procedure and am hoping to be able to take it by tomorrow night. I have been on morphine for about 7 weeks. I take about 100 to 200mg a day. I am about to switch to methadone in the morning. I am going to take 30mg tomorrow morning and 20mg the next morning. Then on the third day I plan on switching to suboxone. I only have 6mg of suboxone to take on the third day. But my question is, Is it safe to take the 6mg of suboxone 24 hrs after taking the methadone for two days,(30mg the first day and 20mg the second day)?? Hi! I have been on 16 -24 mg of suboxone for almost 3 years now. I have been having some really painful tooth aches, and am waiting to get into my dentist for oral surgery most likely, so I go off and on in extreme pain. Every couple days, what I have been doing rather than just taking my sub, is taking my sub dose in the morning, and then in the evening around 8 taking an oxycodone 40 mg, to help with pain. It of course doesn't give that euphoric feeling, but it does help with the pain more than just my morning sub. I go to sleep, and 10 hours after I can take my suboxone no problem, without PAWS. My 63y/o mother survived chemo and radiation for throat cancer but was unable to stop the morphine 15mg twice a day without horrible withdrawal symptoms. Her MD put her on Suboxone 8mg/2mg once a day in June. She even took half the strip on most days and the doctor was very pleased and anticipated that she would be able to stop altogether in November.
