Difference between Suboxne and methadone

What is the difference between the suboxone and methadone treatment ## Hi, Same question- What is the difference between methadone and suboxone ? Thanks for helping ! ## I was on methadone maintenance for 5 years this time (clean from other drugs for 4 years) and I just switched to suboxone. If you are just on dope or oxys, you need to figure out what you want. You will feel better/higher off the methadone. about an hour after you take it you get that kind of warm feeling and you can still catch a nod. I switched off methadone b/c I got sick of going to a clinic all the time, putting up with the bull**** and everyone treating you like you are a worthless junkie, even if you are doing everything right and working the program--but I am in a fairly big city, so my experience may be atypica... ...

I need to find a doctor in or around Upper Michigan who will prescribe methadone. I am a morphine addict, but have been clean for 2 & 1/2 yearsusing Suboxone. The problem is the suboxone is not working like it use to. I also have chronic pain in my lower back and the suboxone does not help. I think methadone would be a better treatment for me...!!!?? ## I live in Laurel md, and have the same problem,I have been on the internet, calling hospitals, its as though a dr to precribe methadone for chronic pain does not happen,if you do happen to get some info on this please try to pass it on. thanks ## You'll find that methadone also is not a very good long-term pain reliever. Does pain killers help Methadone withdraws
4 Replies RSS
I have been taking Methadone for two years, but i want to get off of this medication and start taking Suboxone. Can I take Suboxone a day after I took my methadone? If not, can I take pain killers to help with the methadone withdraws until I start taking the suboxone? ## No, in order to start Suboxone, whether for drug addiction, or for pain, you have to be in full active withdrawal from all other narcotics. Suboxone contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone. The Naloxone helps neutralize other opiates to prevent their abuse, when someone is using it for addiction treatment. If you take it too close to the time period you are taking other narcotic analgesics, it can throw you into dangerous withdrawals. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I missed my clinic today... ...

find a doctor that prescribes methadone in nc

Looking for a doctor who will prescribe methadone in the Charlotte, nc area. I have real pain due to a car accident back in 2000 when I broke my pelvis. I moved from Jersey to Nc and got the pain meds off of someone else and when I became pregnant I was told to go to a methadone clinic. I had no idea what I was doing or that I could easily have gone to pain management. I'm willing to drive almost anywhere within reason for a doctor who can give me methadone. I've tried subutex and suboxone but neither work. Please help ## Unfortunately, if you have gone to a Methadone clinic in the past, then that is in your medical records and a regular doctor will not be able to prescribe it for you. Whether you need it for pain or not, your prior addiction treatment is what will restrict them... ...

Hi all. I'm really hoping someone here can help me. I suffer from a protruding disc and degenerative disc disease in my lower back. I've been in pain management programs since 2011. At one point, my oxy use got to the point where I was using 100+mg daily. Once I realized that I couldn't continue on the path that I was on, I voluntarily got myself in to a suboxone/subutex program in Jacksonville, Fl. Right away, I realized that I couldn't take the suboxone because of the headaches that it gave me, but the subutex worked amazing for withdrawls and does help to make the pain more manageable. Now that I've been on it for nearly 8 months months, I've been considering methadone as an alternative because my insurance only agreed to pay for the subs for up to one year. I... ...

is it any easier to detox from opana than methadone
1 Reply RSS
Is it any easier to detox (get off of and stop using, permanently) from Opana ER than it might be from Methadone? ## Hello, Glenn! How are you? Yes, most other opiates are easier to get off of than Methadone. It is actually notoriously hard to ever get off, because it causes long-term severe withdrawals and cravings, that's why other solutions have been sought to replace it. Most people treated with Methadone for addiction never truly get to be drug free, they usually end up on a lifetime maintenance dose. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Another alternative for addiction treatment would be Suboxone, which is newer and enables most people to become ... ...

There is no listing of what doctor prescribes any specific medication. And due to the new regulations that went into effect this year, if you require this type of medication for long-term treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Learn more Methadone details here. That said, most aren't going to want to prescribe Methadone, due to it having its own very highly addictive nature. That's why addiction treatment has been focusing on Suboxone, now. It actually enables most people to end up completely drug... ...

Need some advice about quitting Suboxone!!
1 Reply RSS
Hi! This is my first time writing about my experience on Subs. Let's see....it has been about 4 years I have been taking them. I was taking 80mg or more a day of oxycontin. I was wearing a size 0 in clothing, wasted every dollar I could get my hands on to go buy more (and where I live they were $70-80 per pill). And even worse, me and my husband were both on them so that doubles the money we were spending on them. After 2 years and nearly ruining our lives, we started the local Methadone clinic and things seemed to be getting better. We done that for a year when I had finally had enough of dozing off, falling asleep and gaining weight that I told my husband I was quitting cold turkey. I was getting my doses by the week at 80 mgs a day so we split it up so we both could do it and slo... ...

I currently go to a clinic daily and am finding the fuel for transportation harder to come by everyday. I would like to see a doctor that can write prescriptions for methadone to avoid this. Thank you ## HI, Bobby! How are you? I'm sorry, but no there isn't a doctor that can do this. Regular doctors can only prescribe it for pain. To use it for addiction treatment, you have to go to one of the clinics and see those that are specially trained to treat with it. Unfortunately, that is the way the laws currently stand in the U.S. What you might want to do instead is contact a doctor in your area that treats with Suboxone to see if they have any op... ...
