Looking for methadone doctor in jacksonville fl

Hi all. I'm really hoping someone here can help me. I suffer from a protruding disc and degenerative disc disease in my lower back. I've been in pain management programs since 2011. At one point, my oxy use got to the point where I was using 100+mg daily. Once I realized that I couldn't continue on the path that I was on, I voluntarily got myself in to a suboxone/subutex program in Jacksonville, Fl. Right away, I realized that I couldn't take the suboxone because of the headaches that it gave me, but the subutex worked amazing for withdrawls and does help to make the pain more manageable. Now that I've been on it for nearly 8 months months, I've been considering methadone as an alternative because my insurance only agreed to pay for the subs for up to one year. I... ...

is it any easier to detox from opana than methadone
1 Reply RSS
Is it any easier to detox (get off of and stop using, permanently) from Opana ER than it might be from Methadone? ## Hello, Glenn! How are you? Yes, most other opiates are easier to get off of than Methadone. It is actually notoriously hard to ever get off, because it causes long-term severe withdrawals and cravings, that's why other solutions have been sought to replace it. Most people treated with Methadone for addiction never truly get to be drug free, they usually end up on a lifetime maintenance dose. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Another alternative for addiction treatment would be Suboxone, which is newer and enables most people to become ... ...

There is no listing of what doctor prescribes any specific medication. And due to the new regulations that went into effect this year, if you require this type of medication for long-term treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Learn more Methadone details here. That said, most aren't going to want to prescribe Methadone, due to it having its own very highly addictive nature. That's why addiction treatment has been focusing on Suboxone, now. It actually enables most people to end up completely drug... ...

Need some advice about quitting Suboxone!!
1 Reply RSS
Hi! This is my first time writing about my experience on Subs. Let's see....it has been about 4 years I have been taking them. I was taking 80mg or more a day of oxycontin. I was wearing a size 0 in clothing, wasted every dollar I could get my hands on to go buy more (and where I live they were $70-80 per pill). And even worse, me and my husband were both on them so that doubles the money we were spending on them. After 2 years and nearly ruining our lives, we started the local Methadone clinic and things seemed to be getting better. We done that for a year when I had finally had enough of dozing off, falling asleep and gaining weight that I told my husband I was quitting cold turkey. I was getting my doses by the week at 80 mgs a day so we split it up so we both could do it and slo... ...

find a doctor that prescribes methadone Myrtle Beach

I'm wondering if there are doctors available in Myrtle Beach, SC that can treat patients on a month to month schedule with methadone. I currently go to a clinic daily and am finding the fuel for transportation harder to come by everyday. I would like to see a doctor that can write prescriptions for methadone to avoid this. Thank you ## HI, Bobby! How are you? I'm sorry, but no there isn't a doctor that can do this. Regular doctors can only prescribe it for pain. To use it for addiction treatment, you have to go to one of the clinics and see those that are specially trained to treat with it. Unfortunately, that is the way the laws currently stand in the U.S. What you might want to do instead is contact a doctor in your area that treats with Suboxone to see if they have any op... ...

what exactly does suboxone do? is it addicitive?
254 Replies RSS
i have a friend who desperately wants to get off of methadone and pain pills. will suboxone work? is it addicitive too? if someone can please help me that would be great! also is it very expensive, that's what i've heard. ## Well, first off, yes, it can be addictive as well, however, it has distince advantages over narcotic meds, Benzos, and even Methadone. Suboxone works on many of the same receptors, since it is a narcotic agent, however, it does not give the same high effect and euphoria that most addicts enjoyed, which is what made them get addicted in the first place. It also contains an opiate neutralizer, so it neutralizes anything in your system from the other drugs you were using, and of course prevents someone from continuing to use while they are on it. Most people wh... ...

Please help me find a doctor in RI that prescribes methadone

I have had 5 back operations and none of them worked, I am in costant pain 24/7 and have no life. I don't want to take opiates because as we all know you can only take them for a small period of time. I am looking for a Doctor in Rhode Island that prescribes methadone for pain ## Hello, Kruzz321! How are you? Many people take opiates successfully for long periods of time to treat chronic pain, or if they have intractable pain due to possibly terminal illnesses, such as stage 4 cancer. There is no hard and fast rule that someone can only take them for short periods of time. Additionally, Methadone is an opiate narcotic, just like Oxycodone, Suboxone, Opana, Morphine and etc. It's actually known to be highly addictive and to cause very bad withdrawals and cravings, when someone ha... ...

Not all AA groups r like that, but, a lot r. ## P.S. I chose AA because there is more longevity with people staying clean than in NA.
