how long after taking a suboxone can you use opiate

I took 4mg suboxone at 9am this morning and have never taking them before. Can I take a Percocet tonight and still get pain relief? ## People often get confused very easily about this. As an addict who used opiates for about 10 years and now on suboxone for 2 years, and having gone to over 15 rehabs and countless suboxone doctors I have a bit of knowledge on this issue. If you take a suboxone and immediately after try to do opiates, YOU WILL NOT GO INTO WITHDRAWAL. you will just not feel the effects of the opiates because of the blocker. Now if you do it the opposite way, if you do opiates and immediately take your suboxone (you have to wait at the very least 12-24 hours to take it), then you will go into immediate withdrawal and believe me, it is TORTURE! Ask any doctor or anybody who ... ...

I took an 8mg suboxone strip this morning around 8 am and im still in withdrawal and it is now 5:30. Can i take a oxycodone without throwing myself into hard withdrawal? I had different people tell me different things. ## Hi tara, Timing is really going to vary for each individual, so that's probably why you keep hearing different feedback. However my opinion based on the reviews I'm seeing here on MedsChat is that it might be a good idea to wait at least a few days after taking the Subuxone before having an opiate like Oxycodone. I think this is largely due to Buprenorphine's long half life of 24 - 60 hours, as reported by samhsa.gov. So as long as the Suboxone is still active in your body, that seems to me like the best way to determine whether it's ok take Oxycodone o... ...

I have been on 8 mg/2mg Suboxone strips for 1 year. I am having a tooth (back molar) extraction in the morning. I used my Suboxone strip this morning & the tooth extraction is at 9:30 am tomorrow. If I don't use another Suboxone strip before the extraction, would I be able to use Hydrocodone after my surgery? I don't want to get sick, but I am terrified of going through this surgery with no pain meds. Please help. ## should be 48 hrs to alow to leave your system ## So if I took a 10 mg Hydrocodone after not taking a Suboxone for 24-28 hours, will it throw me into withdrawals? That would do me in after surgery to end up in wd's. ## Sorry to say but 8 mg of Suboxone is way stronger then any hydrocodone. It would take a year for you to even feel the effects. Tolerance takes... ...

How long after taking 8mg suboxone can u take methadone ## Hello, Michael! How are you? It usually takes about 3 days, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## BE CAREFUL! Precipitated withdrawl will happen if you take it too soon. I don't know your dose of methadone you have tapered off the Half-Life of that poison is @least 72 hrs or more. Depends on alot. How much how long how you metabolized the stuff. I speak from experience. Personally I would give it a wk.Good luck! ## A doctor at a methadone clinic once told me I can go right from Suboxone to methad... ...

I am prescribed fentanyl 25mcgs/hr. Sometimes I have trouble keeping the patch on. I had a couple fall off early this month and couldn't get my refill early. So I decided I would use Subxn to help if there was withdrawal. It worked good, but now it's time for me to stop and put back on my patch. I don't know how long I have to wait. I took 2mgs yesterday at 3pm. It's now 1pm. Is it too soon? ## You will be fine to take it, 2mg is a really low dosage- I take a-more than that. Suboxin is a opiate blocker- your patch may not seem as strong but I doubt it- If you take suboxin over a period of time 3days or more - then your patch would be a waste. That low of a dose will not effect that patch 2-day. But if you hadden take a 8mg gram suboxin- I would suggest wating 2days befor... ...

how long after taking a suboxone can you use fentanyl patch

Ok..so I've been on Suboxone 8mg strips for 2 years. However, I've been only taking 4mg a day starting a week ago and have only taken 1mg the past 2 days. I have a fentanyl patch because, frankly, I'm tired of suffering with my ungodly back pain. My question is probably predictable, but given the low doses I've taken, if I use the patch tomorrow morning, will I feel the affect? If I do use it, tomorrow morning will be 24 hrs since my last dose of 1mg suboxone. ## Generally, it takes 72 hours for the Naloxone in the Suboxone to process, before you can take other opiates and have them be effective, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, s... ...

I have been using 60mg of Morphine IV daily for a year. This past week I used 3-4 8mg Dilaudids daily.Last night I went back to 60 mg Morphine. This morning I took 6mg of Suboxone n was withdrawal 20 minutes later. I had to take a 1 mg Xanax n fell asleep. I am worried about tomorrow. I have no more Subs but I do have a 60mg Morphine. How long should I wait to take the Morphine? ## Go see a Doctor and stay on suboxone if you wish to turn your life around. You got sick on suboxone as you took it way too soon after taking morphine and put yourself into precipitated withdrawal. Combining opiates with xanax puts you at much higher risk of overdose and death. Get help please ## I took 4mg of sub at 9am will I still feel the opiate if I do it around 3 or 4 pm today?? ## @Kayla, Based on the t... ...

I took a small amount of a 2 mg suboxone strip about an hour ago. I didn't want to take it, but my friend is one of those pushy types who insisted. It was roughly between 1-2 milligrams... I went in my bedroom and spit into a cup for a few minutes without him knowing. If i take a little Roxy for my back problems in an hour or so, will I feel it? Thanks ## Hello, Marcus! How are you? Giving into peer pressure can be very dangerous. Really, you've no way of knowing if what they're giving you is actually what they claim it is, they could be giving you something very dangerous. Suboxone is also listed by the FDA as containing Buprenorphine and Naloxone, so it is very potent and most commonly used to treat drug addiction. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to b... ...

how long it takes to feel opiates after taking suboxone
7 Replies RSS
If u take a 4mg suboxone at 8am in the morning before work and sweat alot and drink alot of water u could take opiates around 10pm that night and u will feel it but not nearly as much as if u just wait for the next day. Also alot of ppl including myself think u can push through by using more but its just waste of money. The sub will block it and its very dangerous because you can overdose very easily because your putting the opiates in your system but not feeling it but you can still od, also if you used subs for a few days in a row ot takes a little longer for the sub to get out of your system like another 12 to 24 hours. Also your tolerance goes down really quick just as fast as ur tolerance goes up it goes down just as quick. My personal experience I was taking subs for 3 weeks and w... ...

In order to take Suboxone, you have to be in full withdrawals from other opiates, because otherwise the Naloxone in it could throw you into very dangerous withdrawals. Learn more Suboxone details here.* Thus, there is no set time frame for when to start treatment, because the onset of full withdrawals can vary from person to person, depending on how their body handles it. I took an 8 mlg subutex about 24 hours ago. Is it safe to take roxicodone or other pain meds? ## No, they need to be separated by about 72 hours, in order for the other pain medications to be effective. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Subutex has no opiate blocker in them so you should be fine... suboxone on the other hand has an opiate blocker therefore depending on your body's tolerance and whatever you may or may be able to take other opioids... Taking suboxone after norco
4 Replies RSS
I have been on 16 mg of suboxone for almost a month. Last night I took 3 norco 10 mgs at the same time. It has been 15 hours can I take my suboxone? ## From what I've seen on other threads, it seems like most people recommend waiting until the norco is completely out of your system before taking suboxone (which may be an estimated 24-48 hours based on how much you took). So yeah, I get the sense that you're on the right track, but if it were me I'd probably try to wait it out for another day or so (may be easier said than done). There's also something called a Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) which you can look up online that asks you a series of questions to help you better determine when you might be in withdrawals and therefore ready to use suboxone. I hope thi... ...

How long till they can take a 30mg dose of regular medication for pain relief? ## Hello, Nickels! How are you? About 72 hours, due to the Naloxone in the Suboxone, it takes that long for it to stop blocking other opiates. Will taking a few hydrocodone, during withdraw from suboxone, prolong the time it will take to get over the suboxone? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? The Hydrocodone will not have any effect, since the Naloxone in the Suboxone blocks it and the Buprenorphine is what will have the stronger grip on your opiate receptors. You have to be off of Suboxone for several days, before you can take anything else. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
