I used to take oxycontin (all where white) for years without any problem, Just started taking them again in dosage of 20mg. I have terrible stomach aches and mouth sores which my entire tounge is starting to turn white. It is painful on my tounge and in my throat and ears. If I scrape it off it bleeds. Besides that I am getting great pain relief from the stluff! Is there any way I can get hold of the old oxycontins or another formulation? I read other people were nausiated from the op's and I did not belive the but I do now. ## Hello, Mia! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. As to the original Oxycontin, no, it is no longer being manufacturer. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such ...

Yes having the same problem. I have four herniated discs and the original OC 80 would do the job but OP's to come close to doing the same job your talking twice the dose easily. Any info would be awesome ## Hello, Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding the answer to your question on the web, I even checked the FDA site and wasn't able to find any information on the topic. I read a report from 2011 that Purdue pharma stopped making Oxycontin..but that I'm to sure if anything has changed since then. Have you checked with any local pharmacies? Since they are the ones who provide medication, they would very likely know what is/isn't in stock at this time... You may even try contacting Purdue Pharma, it never hurts to go straight to the source! If you have any more ques...

I have oxycontin 15 mg for cancer pain. Finding it difficult to determine how much is released into the bloodstream at intervals. Does it 'peak' at a certain time? Or, once it breaks down inside the body, is it an even release throughout the 12 hours? I'm imagining it is like taking 5 mg of oxycodone every 4 hours. Correct? Thanks! ## Hello, Matronum! How are you? The way it is made, the pill media slowly dissolves over a period of 12 hours, due to your stomach acid, so the medication is just very gradually release, rather than releasing boluses every so many hours. Think of an ice cube slowly melting in a warm room, it's really just drop, by drop, until it fully melts. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects,...

is there a way to take out the filler ## No, the new Oxycontin OP has been specifically designed to prevent people from doing just that. They are trying to curtail abuse of the medication. It is, however, still supposed to work the same and can cause the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Do you have any other questions? ## the new reformulated drug oxycontin op does not have the same effects and pain relief that the oxycontin oc brand has.what should i do?I am on oxycontin 80 oc mg. ## Its not reformulated . And its the same molecular structure as the o.c. you were probably abusing the o.c. which made them into instant release. ## Verwon, the questioner specified OC, NOT OP. The answer is that if you want a SOLUTION which will be instantly available to t...

small, round , pink tablets imprint k 56 on label RPH 52/52 oxycodone 10 mg tab ## These are not Oxycontin tablets, those are name brand tablets, with no generic available, which are made by Purdue Pharma, they all have the OP marking on on side and the number designating the dosage on the other. The tablet marked K56 contains 10mgs of Oxycodone, in a regular release formulation, which would be a generic for Roxicodone. Side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. What is the color? ## OXYCODONE 60 MG IS RED. OXY 80 MG IS GREEN. PERCOCET 15 = YELLOW, AND XANAX 1.0 IS PURPLE FOOTBALL SHAPED. THESE ARE JUST THE GENERICS MY PHARMACY DISPENSES, AND THEY CAN BE DIFFERENT COLORS FROM OTHER MANUFACTURERS. ## I stopped 8mgs of subutex or bupenorphine, 3 days ago. I took it for 6 months. My sub doc gave me two 20mg of oxycontin per day to help with the withdrawal. I have not felt any withdrawal. I need to get the subutex out of my body because it has made me very sick. Have the Oxycontin been changed in Canada as well. I usually bounce between Dilaudid and Oxycontin for pain., wondering is I should stay on the Dilaudid this time ## oxycontin will be changed to a new formula in Canada in the very near future. ## I am not completely certain, but my guess would be that it has already been changed to the new formulation, or it will be changed very soon, as madatdopers has stated. My reasoning for this is because the name brand in Canada is also manufactured by Purdue Pharma, who made the changes to the U.S. formulation. Are there any questions or comments?

OMG I felt like I was being posioned. I have taken OC for 3 years now, it has made my life managable. I suffer from severe chronic pain. I started taking the new OP 20mg on Friday 3X daily. After the 2nd dose I felt sick to stomach I did not relate it to pill, After 2nd day I felt like I was going to die. Could not eat or drink or sleep. Had chills like withdrawal symptoms. Day 3 throwing up, stopped taking the pills. Two days have past I now take the Opana, as soon as I started taking the Opana my symptoms were subsiding. I never in my 54 yrs of life felt the sickness I felt those 3 days. I am not an abuser of them. I do take them everyday 3x a day. I normally take the 30mg OC 3x daily and dropped down to 20mg. I call them Oxy Poision OP I will never take another one in my life, even i...

Green outer coating works as extended rellaese, the number 80 is on the outside ## When ordering foreign medications, it is very hard to be certain of what you are getting, since they are not regulated like those in the US. In addition, obtaining medications from a foreign source, when they are readily available in the US, is illegal. ## ok but now they are not readily available in the u.s .....so therefore not illegal anymore....right? I have heard that those will be on the street in no time at all.....are these made by purdue and shipped to mexico? or another company down there, and totally seperate from what purdue is doing up here with the discontinuation?

are there any gerneric oxycontin.the new op 40 make me ill.ive ben on this drug for years now,i dont want to change ## Unfortunately, no! Due to the proliferation of abuse and diversion, it is now only manufactured by Purdue. Even when the ones on the market listed as being from Ethex are made by Purdue via the same formulation, they are just a licensed distributor. There have been many complains about them not being as effective and causing odd side effects. I wish I had a solution for you, however, since you don't want to switch medications, the only thing I can suggest is that you let both Purdue and the FDA know of the problems you are having with it. You can do so by calling the following numbers: Purdue 888-726-7535 FDA 800-332-1088 Have you talked to your doctor about this pr...

I hope everyone will reply to my post. I 'am like thousand of good people who live in pain every minute of the day. And now since Purdue the makers of Oxycontin has reformulated the OC to OP we all suffer. I like all has called Purdue with my concerns not only a complaint on how this new Oxycontin does not work and its side effects. What I will do if I have enough people to respond is to set up a FACEBOOK page were people can add his or her story about how the OP do not work, what side affects he or she is having. Also where everyone can boycott any medication that Purdue sells. When at the Pharmacy ask the Pharmacist to give you another brand of medication not one made by Purdue. Trust me there are many other drug companies who make the same day to day medication we take. From bloo...

I have a oxy 8- that is round with no imprints on either side. It came in a blister pack professionally labeled and says it was made by Purdue Phamaceuticals and distributed by Rhodes pharmaceuticals. Can ou p;ease tell me what I have ## I came across the same thing today. Where are you from? I think they might be fake I can't find anything about them the NDC number even says they are oxy 30 but there supposed to be 80s. Am from Albuquerque,NM ## Hello, Shannon! How are you? Where were they obtained? All U.S. approved prescription tablets would have markings on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency, that is required by law. If they are from a foreign source, it may be difficult to positively identify them.

My best friend, who introduced me to her surgeon that performed my 360 fusion, was recently forced to return to PM due to pain from numerous back problems including but not limited to Bone spurs, bulging discs, curvature of the spine and more..., Her PM clinic is about an hour away from mine. Anyhow, he had her on Oxycodone 15 MG IR 4 times a day and he recently added Oxycontin 30mg ER twice a day due to her not having much relief from just the 15 mg pills. It made all the difference in her level of pain and I had my friend back :) When she went to fill at the pharmacy (CVS) she has always used due to them being next door to the clinic, she was told she would have to go to a pharmacy in her county (next exit down) as could no longer fill for her out of county (we are in TN and first we ...

i have hear they are pulling the oxycontin op off of the shelf. once the ones already made are gone they are going back to the original formula. does anyone know if there is any truth to this. i heard reason was because, exspecially with older people, the ops are not digesting. cases of older people haveing bowell movements and the entire pill has not disssolved. this along with other problems. ## No, so far they have not released any information stating that they are intending to return to the original formula. When it comes to time released medications, it is often normal for someone to see the pill in their stool, because that is just the shell and is not digested. However, this doesn't mean that the medication has not been released. Are there any other questions or comments? ## ...

since they have changed the oxycontin, it DOES NOT WORK. ## There have been many complaints about it not working, as well as it causing unusual side effects. I am very sorry to read that you also had problems with this new formulation. Greetings! Just returned from my regular pharmacy where I have been getting my O.C. 80's for years. Today my pharmacist told me that there is now a generic for my Oxy. She told me that because of the cost difference my insurance co. is demanding that I get the generic but the store won't have the generic in stock fot two to three days. This sounds fishy as I have not heard anything about a generic O.C. Has anyone else run into anything like this? Thanks.....Dennis ## Hello, Dennis! How are you? I know originally, they did away with the generics, due to the fact that there were far too many on the market and it made it hard to keep track of the supply to prevent theft and diversion. However, from what I'm currently reading generics have been recently approved from Actavis and...

Can anyone help me understand these OPs? The whole pill is plastic, right? I mean, unlike MS Contins where the coating is time released. So my question is-If the whole thing is a solid time release pill, why can’t I cut it in half? I am not trying to abuse it. My doctor made me switch from 5mg instant relase oxycodone to 10 mg oxycontin and it’s way too strong. It makes me feel sick and way too medicated to drive. I am taking these so I can have a life, not another car accident. So I would like to reduce the dose but it says not to cut them & I am not sure that is applicable to the plastic pills. ## According to medical literature, "extended/time-release" pills are not intended to be cut in half because it can release the full contents of the pill all at once (ri...

Im perscribed OC 40 mg. with the OP on the market the OC became the generic Oxycodone 40 mg. The question is there is Oxycontin 40 mg in capsules. Basicly is that equal to the Oxycodone 40 without the buffer in it ## There is no generic for Oxycontin, both the one with the OC and the one with the OP marking are made by Purdue, they just reformulated to help prevent abuse and discontinued manufacturing the original that had the OC marking. Oxycontin contains Oxycodone in a time released formulation. As to the other formulations, no, there is none available in a 40mg dosage. The immediate release capsule is only available in a 5mg dosage and the regular release tablets are only available in a maximum dosage of 30mgs. Is there anything else I can help with?
