I have been on methadone for seven years. Thru a clinic. I also am prescribed many anti depressants as well as 2 mg klonopin. I just found out iam 10 weeks pregnant. What should i do? Does me taking both these medications affect my baby? Where di i go to research this. I do not eant to hurt my baby at all. Any advice? ## Methadone is usually not stopped during pregnancy, if the mother has been on it for a long time, though the baby may experience some side effects, when it is born and could also suffer some minor withdrawals. However, suddenly stopping it can be far more dangerous, because if you go into severe withdrawals it could result in miscarriage, according to the NIH. Benzodiazepines, such as Klonopin, should usually not be taken during the first trimester, however, abruptly sto...

I am a 36 year old female, I was pregnant and on 35 and during the duration of the pregnancy I went up tp 145mg. The highest I have ever been. I had the baby and in 4 months detoxed down to 95 with the intention of getting off. However if anything stressful happens in your life your sick. I have small kids and stepkids, I cannot detox with them needing me. I heard of a pill called Buprenorphine. However I'm told it's expensive, and some said it takes 3 days. I want my life back. I hate the sweating, dependency, water weight. I just want to to be free of this. Can anyone think of a way legally to detox with the least amount of pain? Please, Mom in California. Only serious people please. Thank you all that share with me in advance. ## Find out about lofexidine. It's the closes...

Surely I'm not the only person reading in shock and disbelief. How is it that so many people are unaware of the basic facts and information regarding bup. I am reading in horror that woman are trying to detox during pregnancy. That is the worst option - it is risking both lives. I also read a question regarding the effectiveness of mixing bup with methadone. Anyone using these meds should know it causes withdrawals, that's the point of bup. I feel lucky to have drug treatment services that are free but able to stand along what is provided to private patients. It's horrible to think of pregnant woman on bup having to come on here to ask for info and not telling their dr in fear of judgement or welfare. What is up with a woman thinking its an option to detox at five mnths preg...

I'm about 6month's pregnant and have started having horrible anxiety attacks, what I normally take is a none narcotic and has not been helping. So my friend has been letting me get a few of her Kolonopin the past few week's, works like a charm. But because I am not prescribed them I am worried that when the baby is born and the check his stool for drugs, that the Kolonopin will show up and I will get him taken away. I have tryed nearly everything else so I don't end up needing the pills, but nothin else has been working. I am so scared of losing this child. I have been involved with CPS before and because I am on Methadone CPS will already be called. I'm scared, but hate how I feel during the anxiety attacks. What do I do? And will it show up in his stool?
