My 18 yr.old daughter was diagnosed with a vitamin D defiency.After reading on line about vitamin D3, I wonder if they prescribed what is best for her, which was Drisdol 1.25 MG. Why 2 D2's and no D3? Would a good grade of cod liver oil be a better choice? ## If they prescribed her Drisdol, they did NOT prescribe her the best form of Vitamin D. Elderly person needs vitamin with following ingredients: Vit. D 400mg, Folic acid 400 mcg., Biotin 300 mcg., Vit. B-12 1,000 mcg., Vit. B-6 100 mg., Selenium 100 mcg., Calcium + D 1,200 mg., Iron 250 mcg., and Vit. C 3,000 mg. Is there any one tablet that comes close to providing these nutrients in these proportions? ## Since most vitamins are over the counter products, there isn't a database that lists all of them and their ingredients. What I'd like to suggest is asking a pharmacist. They usually have a good idea of what's available and can point you in the right direction. Did a doctor say it must be these specific dosages?

pharex vitamin b1b6b12 is safety to take this kind of medicine? ## This pill contains Vitamin B1, B6, and B12; it is used as a dietary supplement. Yes, this B vitamin complex is safe to take; but may or may not be 'necessary' to take if you are not deficient in these vitamins. It would probably be wise to get blood work done before taking multivitamins, so you know which ones you might be low on and which ones you have plenty of. The prescription packaging on my 50,000 units per pill of Vita D, says not to crush or chew before swallowing. "Swallow whole". Why can't these by chewed? My pharmacist didn't know why. I am trying to find out who makes strovite. It seems as though Evertt no longer does. ## Based on information I could find online, Evertt seemed to be the only manufacturer of these vitamins. Have you tried looking up the ingredients to see if there are any other brands that come close to Strovites nutritional profile? If I could suggest a solid multi-vitamin and mineral supplement, I'd have to go with "Garden of Life Vitamin Code" It's comprised of raw vitamins and minerals from whole foods that haven't been denatured or heated. This vitamin C sold in a plastic Orange container with a green cap containing vitamin C pills , 500mg ? Was`available in drugstores around 1965 and on. I now am taking nexium 45 minutes before my first meal of the day. At the next meal I take a calcium/vit D/magnesium supplement.
