I'm very sorry that you're in pain. The best thing to do would be to return to your doctor and let them know that this medication isn't helping you. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and there are other medications available that you can try. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Dear poppi, you may try the rectal suppository type. It has almost instant absorption into the blo...

I have been prescribed diclofenac gel and was wondering if there are any side effects. I was given this as oral nsaids are very hard on my stomach. Also, is this beneficial for a condition called Trigger finger? ## It can cause the same side effects as other NSAIDs, however, since it is topical, your body doesn't tend to absorb as much of it, so this prevents these problems for most people. It can generally help with any condition involving pain and inflammation, however, as with any drug, it doesn't work for everyone. As with any medication, the only thing you can really do is try it and see if it helps. ## If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know. ## To Verwon, Thank you for the input. So far the diclofenac gel seems to help with the inflammation an...

I have Diclofenac that was prescribed in late 2006 but has no expiry date. Is it still safe to use? ## Hello, Bob! How are you? I'm not sure how your country handles drug laws and expiration dates, so I can only provide you with information that I am familiar with from the U.S. FDA. From their efficacy studies, when left in the original factory sealed containers, it was found to retain full efficacy for 3 years, but once that container was opened and it was dispensed in a pharmacy/chemist's container that exposes it to the elements that cause degradation, that efficacy could only be guaranteed for one year. It was not, however, found to become dangerous after the expiration date, but after so many years, it is most likely worthless and you should just dispose of it. ## I have Di...

Why use enantynum instead of diclofenac? ## Hello, Ric! How are you? It really just depends on which one your doctor recommends and which one works best for you. They are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories that are used to treat pain, fever and swelling. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Which has been recommended for you? ## Verwon, I use a generic diclofenac ;50mg with B12 twice a day for my general osteoarthritis but it appears to have very limited usefulness as my condition is continuing to deteriorate. I have pain every minute of the day but refuse to take opiads. I am using many of the natural foods and spices recommended for inflammation but cannot confirm that they hel...

How does diclofenac sodium enteric-coated (ec) 75mg tab compare to a percocet 5/325? Does it work the same and is it a narcotic / opiate? ## No, Diclofenac is actually classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, it is used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. So it also does not work the same. Has your doctor prescribed it for you? ## I need to know if Diclofenac Sodium Er 75 mg has Morphine in it? ## Hi Shaw - actually no, Diclofenac is its own drug completely different from Morphine. It is not even an opiate medication. Hope this helps!

I just took 2 diclofenac sodium 75mg at the same time. Since only one doesn't work at all. Could that hurt me? ## Hello, Turquita20! How are you? Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. It also carries some risks, such as causing stomach damage, increasing the risk of bleeding, causing liver damage or liver failure, so it is very important that you not take more than your doctor has prescribed. Doubling up once likely isn't very risky, but only your doctor can say for sure. It would be best to inform them, as they may want to run some blood work to check your liver function and clotting factor. Is there anything else I can ...

My friend says that this medicine is for curing headaches... But as i read its uses, head aches is one of the side effects of taking this medicine... Which is true? ## Hi, Jan! As odd as it may seem, both are actually true. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and while these medications do successfully treat headaches in some people, there is also a chance that they could cause headaches in some people as a side effect. This is actually much more common with medications than one would expect. For instance, antidepressants can cause depression in some people that take them. Learn more Diclofenac details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Does anyone know where I can find Diclofenac Potassium? Diclofenac Sodium does not work. Live in Arizona and willing to travel ...

I have osteoarthritis and the only drug which provides some relief is diclofenac which I get on prescription. The last two months the chemist has said there are production problems and it is unavailable. This is a disaster for me. Has anyone else had this problem? ## It is only today that I started having problems. It seems to be due to suppliers having difficulty obtaining supplies from the manufacturer. I'm waiting now to get an alternative prescription from GP. As yet I dont know what will be prescribed in its place. ## I can’t get it either. It is the only med that cures my headaches. ## I have had migranes for over 30 years and have tried dozens of medications. Nothing has worked except Diclofenac Potassium. Now it has recently been discontinued. Humana has denied me Ajov...

I have ciatic problems and somebody recomended this pills ## Hello, Jose! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Tribedoce is just classified by the FDA as a B complex vitamin, so it won't treat pain. B vitamins can support nerve health, but they will not work like analgesics do. They can also cause some nausea, in some people that take them. Diclofenac is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, it's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. In the U.S. Diclofenac requires a doctor's prescription. BACK PAIN ACROS THE BACK NO PAIN WHEN I PICK UP OR WHEN I BEND WALKING IS THE ONLY PROBLEM ## Diclofenac is in a class of medications called NSAIDs; used to relieve pain, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness. It works by stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain, fever, and inflammation. Is this medication not working as well as you had anticipated? If not, I would probably suggest having your back checked out to see what it is that might be causing the pain. Light jogging on a regular basis may also be helpful for strengthening your back, depending on the cause and severity of your pain. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Diclofenac Details If you have any other questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## what effe...

Can Volfenac and/or Clonafec be used for arthritis? If not, what do you recommend? thank you ## @busdriver, Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication that reportedly works by stopping the production of a substance in the body that causes inflammation/pain... So in that respect it should help with certain conditions such as arthritis. NOTE: Just to confirm, clonafec and volfenac are simply other brand names for Diclofenac. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Is it also good for heel spur pain and swelling in the foot? ## Dose Diclofenaco work? Where do I get it? ## I cannot say which foreign brands of Diclofenac work as well as the domestic ones, but if the ingredients are of a sufficient quality then they should be effective at treating pain and inflammation....

The lower sphincter of my oesophagus won't relax to let food pass (achalasia?). My doctor prescribed nitrate (isordil), which works sometime but it gives me such a headache that i gave up on it. Is there a reliable muscle relaxant that i could try? Reading up about diclofenac puts me off: the risks are not trivial, especially at my age (82), though it has helped me for other complaints. Thanks. ## No, Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is most commonly used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, easy bruising, and increased risk of bleeding. There are many reliable muscle relaxants that you could try, but it really depends on your overall health, any other medications you may be t...

I have been prescribed diclofenaco for arthritis. I have used it twice, thinking the first reaction might be caused by something else. After 2 mos. I tried it again (1 pill,, 100mgs.) and, again, within a couple of hours acquired excruciating muscle pain in my legs. Also increased joint pain. This lasted for about 11 hrs., and was relieved only by an injection of , first, temgesic ( synthetic morphine) which took the edge off for a little while, and then Nalbufina (this is in Mexico). My doctor does not seem to believe that the diclofenaco could be resposible and I was` wondering if anyone has had a similar reaction. ## There are always people who react that way to some drugs, none of them work for everyone and some cause quite the opposite effect of what they are supposed to. ## Yes I ha...

Can you take anti-inflammatory pills (Diclofenac) whilst on Bisoprolol Fumerate pills? ## I am taking norvasc 5mg for a long time (about 10 years) for treating hypertension. Sometimes, when I found my B.P. is somewhat high, I used 2.5 mg indapamide at morning. This treatment is working till ONE week ago. I always found a high B.P., I raised norvasc dose into 2 tablets 5mg, one at morning and one at night. It works till yesterday and My B.P. IS SHOOTING AGAIN. My question is can I take CONCOR 5 mg tab. once a day instead, taking into consideration I had an old history of allergic bronchitis? Thanks

i have strep throat and i was givin a shot that doesnt seem to be working. i have some of these pills left over from when i had a problem before i was wondering scence they are an anti inflamitory if they would help with the shot of pin that i got or if it would mess with it. so is it safe to take even though i got the shot? ## Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it would only help with pain and not the infection. However, without knowing what was in the shot they gave you, I cannot possibly answer your question. I would need the name of the medication to check for any problems or possible interactions between it and the Diclofenac. Can you post back with this information?

Is this for severe hip arthritis? Dr. 1 said I need immediate hip surgery. Dr 2 said arthritis, no immediate hip replacement needed. I am out of 50/50 codeine and diclofenaco. Diclofenaco is not working for the pain, even though the pain has reduced after 14 days post-injury. ## Hello, Diane! How are you? No, this medication contains a complex of B vitamins and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, so it isn't likely to help much with severe pain. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Given that the 2 doctors you've consulted have disagreed, I think it would a good idea to consult a third, to break the tie, so to speak, but make sure to see a specialist. Is there anything els...

I have inflammation in my back and was taking a pill called Cataflam 50mg but it does not work and still hurts. Can I take a cti 103 (Diclofenac Sodium 75mg) pill instead? Is Cataflam 50mg weaker than Diclofenac Sodium 75mg? ## Hi Evenlyn, Sorry to hear about your back condition. I hope you feel better soon! To answer your question, in short, yes, 50mg is weaker than 75mg. Cataflam is simply another brand name of Diclofenac; so it's pretty much the exact same thing at a different dosage, albeit the suffix is potassium with Cataflam instead of sodium as with the common/standard Diclofenac (& I'm not certain as to whether either mineral makes any notable difference in bioavailability/potency). As to whether or not you can take 75mg instead of 50mg, that's entirely up to yo...

I have diclofenac that was prescribed 9 / 2013, is it still okay to use? ## This medication does not become dangerous, once expired, but it does start to lose effectiveness, so it may not work as well as it did, when new. Additionally, due to some of the risks associated with it, it isn't safe to double up. Thus, it would be best to dispose of the expired medication and obtain a new supply, if you still need to take it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. I was given diclofenaco 100mg in Mexico and I was pain free in 2 days. Can't count the pills I've taken over the years to no avail. Surgery and fusing is all my US doctors could see as a cure. Only take it for flare ups and 1-2 tops. Wish I had found this years ago. Was on the "disabled" list for 3 years. Been working now 1.5 years without a hitch. ## Hi, Tom! Wow! I'm very glad that you found something that worked. In the U.S. this is only available by prescription as the generic Diclofenac or the name brand Voltaren, there may be a few others as well. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so I do need to add some important information for you, long-term usage of this medication could cause increased blood pressure, fluid retention, stomach ulceration and/or liver...
