(round white pill 155 crescent moon on other side) How should i take my pill. Let it melt like suboxin or swallow it? ## This is not a Subutex tablet, this is a generic for Suboxone, it contains 8mgs of Buprenorphine and 2mgs of Naloxone and it is a regular tablet that's meant to be swallowed. It is not orally disintegrating. Learn more Suboxone details here. This is still a narcotic opiate, so it does carry the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Are there any other questions? ## hi...i was shocked to read this a new generic for suboxone? i had heard something about a loss for the word, when you have exclusivity for a drug and generics can't be made, i'd not known of suboxone ... ...

Was on methadone fir 3 months and I've been off of it fir 1 month but I've been doing other opiates to get me through the withdrawal. I'm looking into taking subutex and wanted to no if I can take one right away or do I have to wait 24hrs for the opiates to get out of my system. ## Hello, Tiny! How are you? Subutex only contains Buprenorphine, it does not contain the Naloxone that is in Suboxone to cause withdrawal, so it does not require the waiting period. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What has your doctor advised? ## Have not spoke with a doctor regarding this matter. One more question, if I am on subutex for a couple days, do I have to wait to ... ...

Been on burp. For a few weeks have detox to 1/4 every other day. Last Sunday w as s the last rtf time I took anything. I feel so anxious and crawling out of my skin... how long will this last? ## Hello, Sandy! How are you feeling? It depends on how much you were taking and how long you were taking it. It could be anywhere from a week to about a month, before you start to feel more normal. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, fever, chills, diarrhea, depression and rebound pain. Have you experienced any other withdrawal symptoms, yet? ...

If I get prescribed the sublingual film could I ask the pharmacy to dispense the generic tablets ## No Nate. They won't switch out. Subutex is a completely different script. ## @nate, It probably wouldn't hurt to ask, but if I'm not mistaken, your doctor may have to be the one to make that request prior to writing your 'next' prescription. Usually the pharmacy will only give you what they have on the shelf at that time unless your doctor makes a point of notifying them on the script that you want a specific form of the medication. Do the sublingual films not work as well for you? ...

I have been taken about 60 mg of methedone a day for the last three day to come off of herion so I don't go thru withdrawl how long would I have to wait to take a subutext after the methedone ## Hi zach, To help answer your question, a lot of patients recommend having at least a 24 hour gap in between switching over to subutex. However this is only intended to be an estimate since each person may metabolize meds differently. If you start taking the subutex too early, you may not feel much from the buprenorphine right away, but others say that it should kick into gear as you continue treatment. Apparently when your receptors are filled with methadone, buprenorphine may take the methadone off of the receptors and cause precipitated withdrawal syndrome; whereas symptoms that are normal... ...

Subutex only contains Buprenorphine, not the opiate blocker Naloxone that is in Suboxone, so you can take other opiates, after taking it, as long as your doctor approves. Hi all, I am 39, male and am going to take 8 MG's subutex after being on methadone for 4 years( I'm just over it, tired) 60 MG's next day took 30 MG's next day took 20mgs and finally 10 MG's to taper a bit. I then waited 43 hours and am in moderate withdrawal. I have been in much worse withdrawal then now but decided to go ahead with 8 MG's of sub now to see, lab rat style, if I precip or get relief. There seems to be many different experiences, some say 24 hours some say 72. I will try to give an update if I precip and will for sure if I don't. Fingers crossed, I hope its the latter. Any input or encoragement would be appreciated. I am determined to finally beat this thing, don't want to turn 40 and still be an active addict. Much love to all of you. Lov... ...

the pill is orange and is oblong or foot ball shaped. it has 152 on one side and a little symbol on the other. Is this a real subutex? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? Are you sure that it's 152? There are two Subutex that match this description, which are manufactured by Actavis, the 2mg has their logo and 156, the 8mg has their logo and 153. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ...

Ive been on 160mg of methadone for 2 years but i cant Feel it at all, if i switch to subutex will i feel Them? ## @drew, According to The National Alliance of Advocates for Buprenorphine Treatment (, it is recommended that patients slowly reduce their Methadone dosage down to 30mgs for a period of at least a week, BEFORE attempting to discontinue it completely - AND THEN waiting at least 36 hours before starting Buprenorphine. They also go on to emphasize that patients "MUST" be in a mild to moderate state of withdrawal before taking their first dose of Buprenorphine. That said, I would just encourage you to follow these protocols down to the 'T' as well as asking your doctor for their opinion in case minor adjustments need to be made to fit your specific situa... ...
