I'm here looking for this answer like everybody else... Well I purchased a 5 day detox from a local smoke shop.. I'm into the mid-day of day 3 and also purchased a 5-panel drug test and passed on all 5!! I have to see my probation officer tomorrow morning at 8:00am and its 5:20pm so I'm good to go:-) so to answer any question I turned that 5 day detox into a 3day detox by drinking a bottle and a half each day.. I drank about 3-4 liters of water every day and worked out at the gym also drink cranberry juice everyday! I take about an average of 10 lortab a day and don't take any on the weekends...

I been on Methadone maintenance for 12 years. I was put on the 450. I tapered down very slowly 100 milligrams, and now I'm been detoxed involuntary by 5 milligrams a day for the next 21 days! I have never been so scared in my life. I know I'm going to be very sick!!! Does anyone know how to make this detox easier on me? Can anyone tell me how long withdrawls last and how fast I should detox? I need to get off this stuff but I'm actually scared of how i will feel. Can anyone help? I'm not worried about detoxing quickly, just want to detox! ## Hi Gypsy63, Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. I would suggest setting up a time frame on a calendar as to how often and how much you decide to taper down your dose, until you feel comfortable going off of them comp......

I have taken/abused roxicodone for four years. I am trying my best to detox and get on with my life drug free. I will be detoxing at home with my parents. I am a 26 year old male. We have on hand for the sickness I know I am about to face .... an anti diarrheal, a stool softner, multi vitamins for when I can't eat and advil for pain. I went to my Doctor today and he prescribed Suboxone (1 tab twice a day .. an extra if needed the first week). Also, a nurse at a rehab facility said to drink lots of water AND Gatorade to keep my electrolites in balance. I am not looking forward to this. I had my last roxis yesterday and was honest with the Doctor today. I will have someone nearby while I am sick to help with any needs. Is there anything you can offer as advice? Am I missing something ......

Had been in hospic for Aids. Doc thought I would die, but got better. Placed on 150 mg of methadone per day and 30 mg of morphine per hour (using 20 to 22 pills a day). Two weeks ago informed no pain clinic would treat me because of high dosages. Sent home for hospice two weeks ago and told they would begin the detox from methadone. Went from 150 to 140 to 130 to 125 to present dosage of 100mg of morphine and same amount of morphine. I use close to a gram a day of heroin. I want to quit and I have 100ml of liquid methadone. How should I go about detoxing? Please help soon. Inmm almost out of tar and I don't want to re-up. ## Please help! ## Start taking twenty to thirty ml daily as needed to not withdrawal and increase five to ten ml a day until you feel like your on a stable dose. You should also find a clinic to go to because you will run out of methadone and methadone withdrawals aren't easy. Good luck and the methadone really works. I have severe case of Fibromyalgia with many flare ups where the pain becomes s bad I end up in the ER on dilaudid via IV. I became pregnant 6yrs ago and had been taking percocet for 2 years and was when I became pregnant so my OB/GYN advised on start on the methadone maintenance program. By the end of my term the clinic had me up to 175mg's. Recently I detoxed down 2 mg’s a week and now I am at 46mg's. It hurts something terrible. My PCP said after i’m thru detoxing that he will put me on a Vicodin patch s not to have to take pills again. My issue is as I go down even lower (I am holding at 46mg’s right now) I know my pain is going to be 100 times worse! My body cannot handle it and also I have a 6yr old daughter to take care of. BLOOD PRESSURE WAS UP 145/90 THEN 135/80. TOOK AGAIN BEFORE LEAVING. DOWN TO 120/68. LAST SAW DR PRIMARY DR ORDERED EKG SAID LOOKED OK. WENT TO PAIN MANAGEMENT APPT TOOK UA AS USUAL. MY PRESSURE WAS AGAIN UP TO 145/90. SHE SHOWED ME EKG SOMETHING ABOUT QT LEVELS SOMETHING LIKE THAT WANTS TO START REDUCING METHADONE.
