What's the difference between the small and large pill an which is stronger the 2mg or the 8mg? ## Hello, Sherrie! How are you? When it comes to medications, please don't let them confuse you. As applies in most other situations, the relevance of numbers in medications is the same, so the higher the number, the stronger the dosage. Learn more Subutex details here. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to the specifics on the pills you mentioned, them sizes don't mean anything, so I can't tell you anything about them without more information. Can you please post back with the markings on them? Thanks! ## Size DOESN'T matter but the strength goes ...

Hi guys. I have been on subutex for almost 3 months now. I've got myself down to 4-8 mgs a day. Most days 4. I have a neck injury and need proper pain meds. How long do the withdrawals last? I've got a few lortab 10's to help. Please and thank you !!! ## you want to get your dose as low as you can get it before you jump. i was on subs for 5 yrs & jumoed at taking 8 to 12 mgs a day & i went thru a very rough ride! im now 45 days off subs. my acute w/d lasted around 20-22 days but started easing up around the 16th day. after that its mostly mental like anxiety & depression. you may not w/d that long cause they say the longer someone is on them the longer their w/d will be, just like the higher the dose the worse the w/d. thats why i say if u can lower your dose as ...

I have been on 16 mg of subutex for ten years, last Tuesday I had surgery and decided that I was going to try to come off the subutex, use the pain mess I was prescribed for the surgery and then be done with it all. I was prescribed perk 5 mg every four hours, and at the time of the surgery I had been off the subutex for 24 hours (I know that's not long enough) To my surprise taking the perk as prescribed held me over at least in the beginning. By Monday night I was in terrible withdraws (despite still taking the pain medication as I have been). By about 4am I took half of a 8mg sub (which was around 10 hours after the last perc I've taken) The 4 mg not only took me out of WD but it down right got me high. I was quite upset with my lapse but was determined to not let it be my down

I ran out of subutex last night - can I take suboxone today? ## Hi Ash, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Subutex and Suboxone. So with that being said, I wouldn't anticipate having any problems when switching between one or the other. Also, because Subutex contains the same active ingredient "Buprenorphine", taking the two meds together or within a short a time frame of one another would also be similar to just having an higher dose of Suboxone. Is your doctor also aware that you're taking both medications? ## Have only four 8 strips Suboxone to last until January 21st! I currently take 12 mgs day. Reason Im short? They were stolen and I can't turn the person in as he is family. I have no concrete proof. anyway, I've be on this ...

I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I was on a high dose of methadone - 135ml & in total have been on that & now Suboxone & Subutext for a total of 10 years. I've spent the last few years reducing & am now on 2mg of Suboxone & 1.2mg of Subutext. I've actually had to stop reductions as I've been really sick for the last 7 months. I feel nauseous & weak all the time, occasionally throw up & burp up sick all the time. Sometimes I wonder if it could be that I am so low now on my medication, although I know by rights I should have stabilised & be fine. Would love to hear from anyone who has been on one of these medications for a long time & then stopped at a low dose for a while & had any problems for months. Thank you! ## You mig...

I woke up in WD and took a Subutex immideately. After about 45mins I still didn't feel too well, so I took another and feel much better now. Is this okay? I just read of people taking QUARTERS and it kinda freaked me out. Hah. Is it just that I may have a higher tolerance? ## What dosage have you been instructed to take, or are you trying to self-treat? If you're trying to self-treat, you should be aware that Subutex contains a very potent narcotic, you can learn more Buprenorphine details here and it can be very dangerous. Usually, the dosage is very precisely calculated to help prevent withdrawal symptoms. ## I'm self treating but I immediately went to just taking one a day. ## I forgot to mention that I was coming off of H. From doing a little less than a g to 1 Subtutex ...

Ive been using opiates for a few years now and im just gettin sick and tired of the bull thats involved with it. I cop my pills illegally and its only a matter of time before something happens. My tolerance levels are threw the roof and im looking to use subutex to get threw the day. I dont even get high anymore unless i do an excessive amount. Im looking into subutex so i can have energy to work. I work a very physically demanding job and unless i am on opiates i have no drive to get things done when i am working. My question is does subutex give you that push to get threw the day? ## Subutex contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which is an opiate, so it does prevent the normal withdrawals that one would experience when stopping the other drugs of choice. However, it has to be...

I like a lot of other people got addicted to opiates by a doctor that convinced me of a back problem that I never had..at the worst part of my addiction I could swallow 50 pills a day. I was in my addiction for 5 years. I started on 8 mg of suboxone a year ago and due to the cost my dr. put me on 8 mg subutex.. I have since cut myself down to 4mg and can tell no difference from the 8-4mg. I am now in school and more excited than ever. My life has completely changed. I have no desire to feel high and if that is what anyone on this medication is looking to do, forget it.. You are defeating the purpose and wasting your money. My goal is to be completely off of this medication in the next 3 months. ## Hi there, it was great to blame a doctor but you went with a symptom in the first place .....

I have been on 3 to 4 norcos per day for about 1.5-2 years. 10/325 mg. I don't take them at work EVER. So at night to relax and on weekends/holidays. I recently ran out and my doc suggested I take subutex if I start feeling crappy until I get more. I wasn't feeling too bad but wanted to try it anyway. He told me to put a whole pill under my tongue. But being cautious, I only put 1/2 pill under my tongue (so 4 mg?). Holy cow. I was SO high, then I have been sleepy for hours. Took a nap and woke up still high. Made dinner and am hoping eating makes it go away. It's not, really. I took the pill at 2pm today. I have work at 8:30 am tomorrow - am I still going to feel like this in the morning?! I'm freaking out and really regretting this. *some side notes about me: I am heavy...

I had a knee surgery yesterday. I have been using subutex to help me taper narcotics. I stopped the subutex 2 weeks before surgery. My doctor prescribed both percocet and oxycontin. I am getting no pain relief. The iv Dilaudid worked in the hospital. Has anyone taken Dilaudid by pill at home? ## I have suffered with chronic neck and back pain for years due to disk and nerve problems. My Dr. switched me from oxycontin to diulaudid (4-8 mg) and it worked for the first 9 mos. or so, then I got no relief. Many people get sick on it or very itchy. I am now on a higher dosage of Percoset. ## Are you familiar with subutex? ## No, I'm not. ## It is a new drug that has some pain killing ability. It is a controlled substance. When you take it other narcotics don't work. So it is good for ...

I'm 32 and I have been an opiate addict for about 3 years. It started innocently as treatment for my RA and just blew out of control. I tried detox and all that before and ended in failure, so I found a good Dr and started suboxone treatment and have not touched a pain pill since. However 4 months ago I found out I was pregnant and rather than risk a miscarriage from withdraw my Dr changed my script to subutex. I'm truly terrified of my labor because I have a phobia of needles so an epidural is out of the question for me. My Dr said they can give me a higher dose of pain meds thru my labor for pain but I'm so scared they will overdose me or harm the baby. What are the risks of taking pain medication while on the subutex? Does anyone know? ## I am not going to deny that labor...

I have the relatively new generic for subutex. It's round and white with the numbers 54 411 on one side and blank on the other. I was wondering if u ingest this sublingual like the original or if u swallow it. Please let me know. ## This is an 8mg Buprenorphine tablet, the active ingredient in Subutex and yes, it is meant to be used sublingually. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I took only a quarter of the generic subutex. about 43 hours ago and now i need to take a vicodon. dose any one know if its ok to do that. Cuz i heard if you take it to soon you can get withdrawl symptons or you have to take more than usual because of the opiet recepters.?????????? ## It should be fine, but you may nite get the full effect of the vicodin due to the high affinity to the receptor...

"I've been using 8mg of Subutex for about a year now and it no longer gives me any type of relief. I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. You may require a dosage adjustment, the maintenance dosage to keep a patient from experiencing withdrawal symptoms can go as high as 24mgs, according to the information provided by the FDA. Hello my name is kev. I have been consuming about 3 to 6 mg of Subutex daily for about 7 months. I'm very eager to eliminate the Subutex and start on these Methadone. Is it safe to consume Methadone 20 mgs the day after taking about 3 mgs of Subutex? I heard Suboxone was the dangerous one, not Subutex and I also heard the taking Methadone after Subutex is safe apposed to Methadone to Subutex. Any answers would be highly appreciated. Thank you. ## People are just stupid. The buprenorphine is what keeps you from feeling high on other full opiates. The naloxone is only in the suboxone to keep you from misusing the drug. If taken properly the naloxone will not affect you. noone seems to understand that subutex is just as useful for opiate w/d as suboxone and it is the active ingredient ...

Hi there, My boyfriend and I were taking opiates for about a year, quite a lot. We have been on methadone for about a year, I've been on it for a few months longer. Started at 60mgs a day and then got down to 12mg. For the past month I've been on a higher dose to get off the opiates we got hooked on again. Think we didn't have enough methadone and the cravings set in. So, I got subutex now and my boyfriend and I are living in separate places now, which make this hard to coordinate. I got subutex and we shared it but I had to start taking 8mg instead of 4mg just so that the withdrawal from methadone would go away. So I've taken most of the Subutex meant for us and have 2 8mg tablets left. I don't have any methadone now, only a script for another month at 12mg. Yesterd...

I've been a Subutex patient for a year taking 8mg a day. If I get in an accident, how can a doctor treat me for pain. I've been worried about this ever since I started and I haven't spoke to my doctor yet. I sincerely do not care about getting high anymore and this really bothers me. Can somebody please help? Thank you! ## There is no need to worry, they will be able to treat you. Subutex only contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, it does not contain the added Naloxone that Suboxone does, which is the ingredient that neutralizes other opiates. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you! That...

U took 4 7.5s perks around midnight will I go into withdraws if i take a 54 411 around 10am ## Dear highboi1989, u must wait until u r in withdrawals b 4 u can take the sub. If not, u could get sick and feel like crap. U should not take both together, either. It could b dangerous. So, remember, wait until u r withdrawing b 4 u take the subs. GOOD LUCK! ## There is nothing in Subutex to counteract other opiates, so someone does not have to be in full withdrawal to take it. Subutex contains only the opiate Buprenorphine. It does not contain the Naloxone that Suboxone does which so why you must be in full withdrawals, before you can take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth...

What kind of reaction am I to expect from taking 30mg of vyvanse & 16mg of subutex &125mg of librium on a daily basis? I feel well balanced out, outgoing & confident. I am well focused & Function on the top of my game. ## The main concern is the mixing of the Librium and Vyvanse, since they can both increase serotonin levels, if they go too high, it can lead to a possibly fatal condition called serotonin syndrome. That doesn't mean they can't be taken together, successfully, but that your doctor must carefully calculate your doses and should be monitoring your regularly to watch for any possible problems. Side effects may include dizziness, insomnia, nervousness, mood swings and weight loss. Is there anything else I can help with? ## i am prescribed adderall 30mg...

This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! How are you? Actually, Subutex can still block other opiates from working, so many people do have good luck with it. It contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which tends to cling to the opiate receptors in the brain much stronger than most other opiates, so it can also cause precipitated withdrawal, if someone has been taking any recently. The FDA classifies it as an opiate that is mos...

I found Subutex in my daughter's room with a needle. Do people really IV this? Why do people take it that dont need it? ## The pill in description is Buprenorphine hydrochloride (subutex) 8 mg. It is a semi-synthetic opioid that is used to treat opioid addiction in higher dosages (>2mg) and to control moderate pain in non-opioid tolerant individuals in lower dosages (~200 mg). Yes, Subutex can be administered intravenously. This is a very addictive drug that gives off a euphoric rush similar to other opioids in addition to a slight "upper"-like effect. ## Hello, administering these intravenously is very dangerous so please take them from her and tell her she is messing with her life, i am only 24 and have never used a needle but have had drug problems all my life since i...
