Unfairly kicked of my suboxone program
1 Reply RSS
I have been on a suboxone program for the past 4 years through a Dr. from another city. My family doctor recently started the program and I went to him for a consultation because he's right around the cormer from my house. I was honest with him in letting him know I was currently on a program and that I did not need a perscription that day (I still had about a week left from my other doctor). When I went back for my appointment, they told me that I wasn't acceped to their program. I didn't really think anything of it because I could still go to my other doctor even though he was far away. Well then my original doctor kicked me off of the program! And not only that, he accused me of doctor shopping and not taking my pills, but selling them! I have taken my pills faithfully ev... ...

How long after you Stop Suboxone do you have withdrawal symptoms?
440 Replies RSS
My 63y/o mother survived chemo and radiation for throat CA but was unable to stop the morphine 15mg twice a day without horrible withdrawal symptoms. Her MD put her on Suboxone 8mg/2mg once a day in June. She even took half the strip on most days and the doctor was very pleased and anticipated that she would be able to stop altogether in November. She unfortunately had a stroke 14 days ago and has been in the hospital. The first 7 days she was confused from the stroke but now she is weak and forgetful but is no longer disoriented. She told me tonight tht she thought she needed her Suboxone. She said she thought she was going thru withdrawal. I was floored. She is not having any outward s/s of withdrawal: no back/stomach pain, no nausea/vomiting, no sweating or tremors. Isn't 14 days... ...

my personal experience taking suboxone
5 Replies RSS
Hello everyone :) I'm 29 years old. I've been atticted to pain killers of all kinds since I was 25. I have been on Suboxone for 4 months now. I would like to share my personal, very positive experience taking this medication with anyone that has questions about it or is looking to start it. ## Hi Kristin, I've been reading around these boards a lot and there seem to be a couple of common concerns among people considering suboxone. 1) How and where to find a doctor to prescribe it 2) Is Suboxone affordable for the average person? If not, are financial aid programs available? Would love to hear more details about your experience with this! ## As to where to find a doctor who can prescribe it, there is a website just for that, which lets you search for doctors in your area. As ... ...

hycodan and suboxone
2 Replies RSS
I take 8mg of suboxone a day. I was prescribed hycodan cough syrup for strep throat today. The question is can I take them together! ## Was the prescribing doctor aware that you are on the Suboxone? I'd think it should still work and not cause any problems, since it's a liquid intended to work directly on the throat area, when you swallow it, but I may be wrong and would advise you to check into it, before taking it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## HAVE TOU FOUND OUT IF YOU CAN TAKE THENM TOGETHER ...

suboxone flexeril advil pm

Really wanted to know if I can take advil pm.for my head ach and help sleeping, but im on 8mg sub.a day and 10mg flexeril??? ## From what I've read, apparently there are dangerous drug interactions listed between the Buprenorphine in Suboxone and the Cyclobenzaprine in Flexeril. I'm not sure if you were already aware of this, but the interaction states that using these two central nervous system (CNS) depressants together may increase your risk of a Buprenorphine overdose, life-threatening respiratory depression, coma, and even death. Having said that, extreme caution on proper dosing should be advised by your doctor if he/she hasn't already mentioned this to you. Regarding Advil PM, the diphenhydramine in this medication also interacts with the Buprenorphine in Suboxone. Not... ...

Private Methadone Doctors
21 Replies RSS
Hello. I am a 26 year old male who has been struggling with opiate addiction for about a decade. Recently I tried the suboxone program which helped to a degree, but meds were way to expensive as well as the Drs appointment. So I am looking for help with my disease and I would like to know if methadone is the right route for me to go. Thanks ## Methadone does help many people and it can be cheaper than Suboxone, however, you will more than likely still have to visit a doctor or clinic regularly. The main drawback to Methadone is that it can also be quite an addictive substance and people that is use it usually end up requiring a lifetime maintenance dose of it, while Suboxone can be slowly tapered and enable the person to eventually become completely drug free. Have you tried consulting ... ...

Mixing Xanax With Suboxone
1 Reply RSS
What would be the effects of mixing Suboxone with Xanax ## Since the Suboxone contains the opiate Burphenorphine and the Xanax contains the Benzodiazepine Alprazolam, they can both cause depression of the central nervous system, which can result in lowered blood pressure, lowered heart rate and shallow breathing. In extreme cases, such as when someone has taken too much, these conditions may be fatal. This isn't to say that they can't ever be used together, but you should be under a doctor's supervision and the dosages have to be very carefully considered, as well as your reaction to the medications. Are there any other questions or comments? ...

In any circumstance such as this, you should call your treating doctor to ask. Trust me, they are used to this, it happens to everyone, once in awhile and their staff is trained to provide you with the proper answer. I am currently taking subutex cause I am allergic to something in suboxone. My doctor just asked me if I wanted to try something called subsal. Its new and I guess its a mint flavor tablet.... What is it ## Hi leah, Sorry to hear about your allergy to Suboxone. However, I haven't been able to find any specific details on any medications by the name of Subsal. Did your doctor mention anything else about what it's supposed to be used for? If the Subutex is working well as an alternative option, then in my honest opinion it may be best to stick with what you already know, since different brands can still effect each person differently. So switching medications is somewhat of a gamble in that regard. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Subutex Details I hope this help... ...

mixing suboxone and vyvanse

If I take 1/4 suboxone strip and a 60mg vyvanse, will it make me sick or sweat a lot? ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications. Has your doctor prescribed them both? The Naloxone in the Suboxone only neutralizes other narcotics. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to the Vyvanse, since it is a stimulant, it may cause sweating, along with the risk of being habit forming and causing other side effects, such as nausea, headache and irritability. Are there any other questions or concerns? ...

long term suboxone use

Does anyone know of what vitamins to supplement the effects of long-term suboxene use? Been having a hard time finding the information ## Hi, Jax! How are you? The reason you aren't finding that information is because such studies aren't done. It's just not something that money is typically spent on research to see what vitamins best help someone taking any given prescription medication. It would be great if it were done, but I'm not sure that will ever actually happen. Learn more Suboxone details here. You should check with your doctor to see if it's okay for you to add a good multi, that would probably be the best way to go about it. Then you make sure that you get all of the essentials. ...

It would also not be free, even if a doctor gave it to you in their office. Are there any comments or questions? ...

is it safe to take suboxone with cephalexin
1 Reply RSS
I'm prescribed cephalexin for a UTI and want to start taking my suboxone strips to help with my H withdrawals. Is it safe to take the two together? ## Hi Shamana, Looking at's drug interaction checker, I didn't see any discrepancies listed between Suboxone (buprenorphine + naloxone) and Cephalexin. So based off that information alone, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to take the two together, unless instructed otherwise by your doctor. Also, as long as it was the same doctor who prescribed both meds, I think it's highly unlikely that he/she would give you two things that couldn't be used at the same time. Although it never hurts to double check just to be on the safe side! I hope this helps! ...
