How Can I Find A Pill By The Lot Number

Is it possible for a box of pills to have the same lot number if those pills were purchased in two very distant areas? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? Oh yes, that is definitely possible. As defined by the FDA, a lot number is just used to pinpoint a certain production run of a medication and, it may include any given number of bottles of pills, depending on how the manufacturer has their system set up and how much medication they manufacture. It is used to help trace it back to a certain time, production run, employees and etc. in case of product tampering, contamination, or etc. Once a certain production is finished, those pills from that lot number could end up anywhere, in any store that carries their product. Is there anything else I can help with?

What kind of pill is this? Thanks. ## Lot numbers are internal numbers that are used by manufacturers to identify specific production runs of their products. In light of that, they do not actually identify any product or medication, because the some number could be used by several other companies. Thus, to identify one of their products, packaging, lot number, expiration and sometimes other details are required. Are there any markings on the tablets? That is what would enable us to identify them for you. ## Found light blue oval pill has the number L 368 on it what u think it might be ## L 368 is a naproxen 220mg (Nsaids) prescription pill ## What is an oval blue pill with 8987 on it, other side blank?

I was given a kenalog injection on 12/28/2012. When I got into my car I started reading the paperwork and discovered the shot they had given me was 6 months expired. What should I do? ## If you had any concerns about the safety of expired meds, I think the following information will at least help put you at ease: "According to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expir...

I had testosterone inj's. at my Drs, office and the chart only lists a lot number. How can I find out if these inj's. were generic or brand name drugs? ## @BillyG, From what I could gather, lot numbers are issued by the manufacturer of the medication. Apparently each batch of whatever product these manufacturers make are assigned this unique set of numbers to help them monitor and keep track of certain drugs that require recalls, shipping orders, or other important measures. One article I read suggested that it be thought of as a medication's social security number in that sense. I think the only way to know for sure what you were given at the doctor's office that day would be to call in or ask during your next appointment. I hope this helps!

Can you track where a medicine was purchased by the lot number? ## Hello, Jef! How are you? No, you cannot. The same lot number is usually used for a certain production run of a drug, so for instance the same lot number might be used on 5 million bottles of Tylenol that were made on a certain day, on a certain factory shift. The manufacturer does keep track of where those lot numbers are sent, but as I am sure you can guess, that can equal many stores in various areas of the country. So, you might want to know where this lot numbers was sold and it would be a list of 142 Target stores, 327 Wal-Marts, Drugs.com, Amazon.com and etc. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for the info

My Husband was injected in the knee December 2012 and caught Meningitis, I am trying to get the Lot Number ## Hello, Toot! How are you? You'd need to contact the doctor that gave him the shot for that information. There is no national databases of drug lot numbers and who they were administered, too. Did they definitely tie it to the shot?

Found these brown and yellow capsles. They have no markings on the capsles but are packaged indiv. with the above lot number and expir. date on the outside of the package. Thank you for any help. ## I'm afraid I cannot help you with just the lot #. That can be an internal thing used to track certain manufacture runs of the product, so the same # could be used for more than one company for more than one product. If there are no markings on the capsules, it will be virtually impossible to positively identify them, unless you would pay to have them lab tested. These could be any one of a number of over the counter items or foreign medications. Where were they found?

Please look up a medication by lot number TMSA15268-A ## LOOKING FOR A MEDICATION WITH LOT # PRO3150. I THINK IT IS DOCETAXEL. ## At this time I don't think there is any way to look up medication via their lot number. For example, Lot # PRO3150 comes up as a Motorola headset/earpiece accessory which is completely unrelated. Lot # TMSA15268-A also yields nothing. Perhaps an easier approach may be to search for Docetaxel (the medication in question) and see if you recognize the specific tablet by imprint or description? Medications can even be searched by their NDC if you happen to have that information on hand. MedsChat has a National Drug Code Database that can be accessed from the home page. Does anyone else have thoughts or suggestions to add? ## Looking for lot 051670. It is half...

Yes this is an Excedrin Lot #. I want to know if it is legit. ## Legit in what way? Are you asking if it's actually Excedrin, or if it is one of the lots that were recalled? Are there any markings on them? ## Well yeah! I wanted to know if it was legit and if this was one of the lots that were recalled. Also if there are any plans to bring this medication back.

Hi all. I have been using bensedin diazepam at 40mg a day for months and have not needed to increase dose so that's good, on the other hand I seem to often get the same lot number 05697 exp 06/2020 last 4 strips all same batch apart from 1 strip. I've also had lot 05697 with exp 2021. I didn't think you could have the same lot number with different expiration dates? Or can you? ## Yes, you can. There are more details available from the FDA on expiration dates. I found a pill in my driveway and its a oval peach pill with 851 on one side and what kinda resembles a D on the other side can u tell me what it is please?? ## Hi Sam, Based on your description, this sounds a lot like an oval orange 2mg Guanfacine extended-release tablet, made by Actavis. Their logo is frequently referred to as a "half moon", but it also resembles the letter D - which is imprinted on one side of this pill, and has the number 851 on the other. Guanfacine is indicated for use in treating ADHD as well as hypertension. And as a means of verification, it carries a National Drug Code of 0228-2851. Hope this info helps!
