I took 4 mg of a D at 11:00 am and took my last Vicodin 5/325 at 5:00 pm. How long should I wait to take 2 mg of Suboxone tomorrow? I usually start feeling mild withdrawals at 4 am. Please help. ## There is no precise time frame that can be given, you have to be in full withdrawals from everything, before you can take it, otherwise the Naloxone in it can throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Did your doctor provide any instructions?

I have been taking suboxone for a week, only 8 mg a day, but over 24 hours ago i only took a half of a 8 mg strip, will I be able to feel pain mess now. It's been 28 hrs since i took half strip. ## @Akc, Due to buprenorphine's long half life of 24 - 60 hours (as reported by samhsa.gov), I would probably encourage you to wait a little longer in-between stopping suboxone and starting narcotic pain meds in order to get the most out of them. If still in doubt you could also take a drug panel to gauge how much suboxone is left in your body. But that might be more trouble than it's worth v.s. just waiting it out for an extra day or two. I hope this helps! Please post back if you're able to update us on how things went.

Hi. I am having a procedure done and am being prescribed vicodin. I am currently on suboxone. I WILL NOT take the vicodin unless I am in excruciating pain. Would suboxone help with the pain? And if I do have to take the vicodin how long should I wait to take it after taking suboxone? THANKS! ## Vicodin will not do anything taken with the Suboxone. Suboxone contains an opiate neutralizer to help prevent you from getting high and taking other drugs while under treatment. Vicodin is also nowhere near as strong as the Suboxone, so it will be liking taking TicTacs for your pain in comparison. Suboxone is a narcotic, so it will help with the pain and you should be fine with just that. ## Suboxone does not help relieve any pain what so ever. I am on suboxone, but if you have to take vicodin yo...

I have been using 1 mg of suboxone once in the late morning for the past 3-4 days while waiting for a refill on my 30mg morphine tabs. have taken 4 10 mg of methadone pills and want to know when i can start taking subutext. b4 that taking 80 mg of oxy's off and on for 3 mo hear you can get very sick with subboxone if taken too soon but with subutext it is different? hear you can take as soon as you go into withdrawl ## That is correct, Suboxone contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone, which counterats opiates and can make you go into withdrawals, the Subutex does not. That said, it is actually the Suboxone that you are supposed to wait until you are in withdrawals to take, so it doesn't cause you to go into them by neutralizing the other opiates you have taken can cause a bad reaction. Subutex is generally started immediately, in place of the narcotics someone is taking and then gradually tapered. Are you seeing a ...
