Hivid Zalcitabine, ddC

Zalcitabine (2′-3′-dideoxycytidine, ddC), also called dideoxycytidine, is a nucleoside analog reverse-transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) sold under the trade name Hivid. Zalcitabine was the third antiretroviral to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of HIV/AIDS. It is used as part of a combination regimen. Zalcitabine appears less potent than some other nucleoside RTIs, has an inconvenient three-times daily frequency and is associated with serious a...

periactive to get some waigth ## EVERY TIME I GET SOMETHING TO EAT I CANT EAT . MY FRIEND GAVE ME SOME OF THESE PILL A LONG TIME AGO AND THEY HELP ME GOOD I NEED MY ON ## @Montana, Based on my research, Cyproheptadine, the main ingredient in Periactin, is actually an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. However, Periactin (cyproheptadine) is a prescription medicine that is also given to people who need to gain weight. In order to gain weight in a healthy manner or without medication, I would suggest portioning out your meals every 2-3 hours (right around 6 meals per day). These meals should include natural nutrient dense foods with little to no empty calories, so you can get the most out of each ...

last year i broke out in hives so the dr. proscribed hydroxyzine hcl 25 mg. . I broke out in hives again wanted to take the pills but they expired in march 2012 is it bad if i take them . ## Hi Peggy, According to Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. But the question is whether the drug you have kept happens to be one of these drugs from the study... (I have...

I am 22 years old, turning 23 soon. I'm hiv positive and lately I've been feeling like I'm gonna die soon and I'm always afraid. Are the pills going to help me? ## Hello, Lerato! How are you? I'm very sorry about how you're feeling. Noxidem is listed as containing the active ingredient Zolpidem, which is used for the short-term treatment of insomnia. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, hallucinations, sleep actions and next day hangover-like effects. Thus, if you're looking for something to help with anxiety and depression, no this is not the correct choice. Is there anything else I can help with?

An HIV vaccine is a potential vaccine that could be either a preventive vaccine or a therapeutic vaccine, which means it would either protect individuals from being infected with HIV or treat HIV-infected individuals. It is thought that a HIV vaccine could either induce an immune response against HIV (active vaccination approach) or consist of preformed antibodies against HIV (passive vaccination approach).[1] Two active vaccine regimens, studied in the RV 144 and Imbokodo tri...

My wife has had severe hives for several months. Pretnazone is the only drug that gives her some relief. The hives are on her back and sides, her arms and legs are not effected. We have seen 3 allergy doctors, they have no idea how to get rid of them. Any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU ## Hello, Maurice! How is your wife doing? Did they do any checking to see what she's allergic to? An answer to that is going to be required in order to find a solution. Have they done skin patches? What has she tried taking for them? Is she using anything new?

If I am an HIV patient and taking Dinitel, will it affect me or cause a problem with the virus? ## I'd say it would because you body, if having HIV, is fighting and can not fight with out the proper nutriance.... Your body can not fight with Nutriance if it is not getting it- all due to a pill giving you the energy- to act- as if it naturally is getting it.... I believe it wouldn't be good to take this pill having HIV, for your body is confused with what to eat, it thinks it has something that is not really there---food & Nutiance. P.S.- vitamins can not make up for food with nutiance & natural vitamins in food...

Had asthma my whole life, never too bad. Got hives real bad 8 years ago. Xolair is working great for the hives. I have my life back. However, my asthma seems worse. It's hard to tell if it's from the xolair or not. Only side effect I've had is a dislike for alcohol which is fine for me, but it could be another use for this medication. ## As reported by the FDA, there is a chance that it might cause that, though it is very rare. Other more typical side effects may include dizziness, headache, back pain, fever, and hair loss. What medications do you use for the asthma?

I am responding to the person who asked if Fexofenadine would help with chronic hives. I have taken ALLEGRA for about 20 years for Hives. It is the best drug out there! Do not substitute Fexofenadine for Allegra. They do not work the same. Trust me! Try the Allegra! You WON'T be disappointed!!!!! Good luck!!!!!! ## Does the generic instead of name brand really make that much of a difference? Have you experienced depression or vivid/lucid dreams? ## No, Fexofenadine is the active ingredient in Allegra. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and headache. MMama, are those issues you are having while taking it? Are you on any other medications? These medications have been known to cause such issues as side effects, in some people that...

I have been on Victoza for about 2 weeks now and I have broken out in hives/rash around my mid section. My body itches but I'm not sure if it's related to this or not. Anyone else experience this? ## It would be best to have this symptoms checked out by your doctor, according to FDA reports, there is a chance that it might be an allergic reaction. Have you been exposed to anything else new, such a a different detergent, soap, or perfume? Have you eaten any new foods? Are you on any other medications? ## I have been on Victoza for one month and all of the sudden I have multiple red welts that itch on my abdomen where I've been injecting. ## I took it for 5 years no hives and no other symptoms. Check with your doctor.

I was prescribed Cipro for Bronchitis in the hospital. I took only 4 doses 2 pills twice a day! I broke out with severe Hives and was given Benedryl, Predisone, Pepcid and nothing is helping! I am so itchy and uncomfortable and have been to the ER 3 times. What can I do. It's been 3 days since I stopped taking it and I am suffering so bad!! ## Hello, Chrissy! How are you? I am so sorry about the hives, it's happened to me before, so I know how awful that is. What dose of Benadryl have you been taking? You should check with your doctor first to make sure that it's safe for you, but you can usually take up to 50mgs per dose. And soaking in a warm tub with some epsom salts may also help. But otherwise, it's really just going to take time. ## Hi thanks I have a appointment w...

I desperately need to gain my appetite back & my weight. ## Before combining any two or more substances, I think it's always best to contact your prescribing doctor first just to be on the safe side. I started on a form of Wellbutin and often I have hives and excessive itching. Should I continue the Wellbutin? ## Phyllis, I am responding to your message about you taking a form of wellbutin such as Bupropion and having hives as one of your side effects. Some side effects can be serious. If you are experiencing hives contact your doctor immediately. Also, please review the following internet page for further harmful side effects. It will tell you all you need to know about the medication and it's side effects! Good luck ## Yes, pruritis (itching) is a side effect of Wellbutrin. I had very itchy skin, horrible adult acne at 48, and oily greasy skin. I stopped taking Wellbutrin on my own and all of those symptoms were gone with 3 days.
