Around 4 years ago our American Eskimo Spitz was diagnosed with an enlarged heart. We treated him for nearly a year for that problem through our family vet., but the medicine he was on didin't help. Finally he referred us to a specialist in Gathersburg, MD. At that appointment he was diagnosed with COPD, and the medicine he was treated with could have caused kidney failure. That vet put him on the tussigon and it does help some. The reason I am writing is because I see that several people have written in that they have the same breed of dog that we have. Just make sure that your diagnoses is correct and your dogs are being treated for the correct illness. I also see that people are having a hard time finding Tussigon. Why aren't your vets providing this for you? It is expensive, ...

I had a mild heart atack and I was prescribed a cocktail of drugs, which made me feel like a zombie, I was extremely tired, feeling sick, couldn't barely walk: ticagrelor 90 mg., simvastatin 40 mg., amlodipine, ramipril 2.5 mg., eleprenone(Inspra) 25 mg. I discarded the amplodipine- why the dictors prescribed it together with the ramipril, if both do the same job and both have bad side effects? I also stopped the simvastatin- so far for a week and I feel better, but another doctor now replaced with with atorvastatin 20 mg. which I will have to start taking, but this one is also known for bad side effects and I was also prescribed a beta blocker- Egiloke 25 mg (Metrprolol tartrate) as replacement of the amplodimine. I am worried about the side effects: my colesterols levels and blood...

WHAT IS THE BEST DIET AND MEDICINE WHICH CAN CLEANSE THE ARTERY BLOCKAGE ## If it is due to fatty deposits, then you need a diet that is low in fats, especially saturated fats and cholesterol. You will also want it to be higher in fiber, eating things like oatmeal and whole grains. The best medications are usually the statin drugs, though they can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Are there any other comments or questions?

I am allergic to sulphonamides in antibotic - when I took trimethoprim I got Stevens Johnson Syndrome. I went in hospitla yesterday. Was given morphine for pain and then co-codamol. Last night I felt very sick and dizzy and was kept in hospital this morning an hour an a half after taking more co-codamol i sat up in bed and had all the symptoms of passing out but didn't go fully. My heart was pounding etc. Could there be a link to my allergy as my skin has been itching and my arm burning but not rash as yet. I stopped taking them - doctor withdrew them. ## Hello, Vaness! How are you? I'm not a doctor, but I'm more inclined to think that what you experienced were just side effects from the narcotics. Everything you've listed, including the itching, are known possible side ...

I have been taking Tecta for a year or so ! I just visited the health canada site and they advise that this drug should not be prescribed for longer then 6 to 8 weeks? Thanks, ## HI, Aurele! How are you? Yes, these medications are only intended for short term use. Studies have shown that long term use can cause an increased risk of hip fractures. I have been told by my Dr that I have stasis dermetitis. I have been put on 1500 mg of sodium per day. I have been on this diet for approximately 3 months and am still struggling with water retention. I also take a lot of meds for pain along with amitiza for constipation, so would like to know if any of the meds I am on contain sodium. I truly count and weight all my food so I do not go over. My heart test came back good and I do not have congestive heart problems. Thank you for any information you can give in this matter. ## Hello, Karen! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. I am a CHF patient and already explored this topic with my doctor and additional research on my own, so I can tell you that while some medications contain a trace of sodium, that i...

does tramadol have adverse reactions with the muscle relaxant baclofen if so what are the affects. my b/friend just took both he is in severe pain with his ribs, gout and a messed up knee, already having trouble breathing from the shifted ribs. can someone please help me. ## Has the same doctor prescribed both of these? The main problem with taking these two medications together is that they can both cause central nervous system depression and, when used together, the effect can be synergistic. This is not usually a terrible danger for most people, but does mean that they shouldn't be used together, without a doctor's supervision. Anyone that does so should know to watch for lowered blood pressure, sever dizziness and/or drowsiness and lowered heart rate.

How are you? There are some risks associated with taking them all together, such as depression of the central nervous system, interrupted heart rhythm, and increased sedation. However, as long as your doctor is monitoring you regularly and you are aware of any possible danger signs, such as extreme dizziness, severe drowsiness, and trouble breathing, there should not be a problem. I have taken plavix 75, lipitor 20 and carvedilol 6.25 daily since I had a stent put in my heart in 2008. I don't have high bp, but it was to my understanding these drugs are to keep cholesterol low and to help with the stent. Is bioflu ok to take? Do you have any suggestions?

After the first dose of doxy-cycl hycl 100mg I have had heart burn ever since I'm on day 3 of a 30 day course. Will this go away or will I have heart burn the whole time? ## Hi JoAnn, Are you taking this medication with any food or on an empty stomach? Although heart burn is not listed as a side effect of Doxycycline, I have come across a number of other posts in which patients mentioned having severe heart burn and have had to call their doctor or go to the emergency room. They also noted that having the pill with food could help relieve some of the symptoms associated with heart burn. There's really no way to tell how long symptoms will last, since everyone reacts to these drugs differently. If it persists though, you may have to consider stopping the medication and opt for a ...

I have a question for the FDA and CDC. Drugs like Donnatal which had been on the market before WWII are now considered too dangerous. Many people have taken this drug as prescribed. In fact, I am 65 and took it at age 15 for ulcers with very little side effects. I look at the drugs currently being prescribed and see death, stroke, heart attack, liver failure, pancreatic problems, kidney failure, just to name a few and I have to question whether these drugs are not more deadly than drugs such as Donnatal? I know that any chemical in the human body has some side effects, but how can the side effects of approved drugs be any better than what has been used for years, not to mention the fact that unless a drug is priced to the max -- it doesn't seem to be considered safe. Drugs such as N...

Is there any medicin (except hearing aids)which can help in regaining hearing especially in elder persons. Hair can be grown, hearts can be replaced, kidney can be replaced in fact except for regaining hearing loss all parts in body can be cured as per modern medical research but no progress regarding growing hair cell in human body has been made.Is it due to hearing aid lobby.

Once you start taking this you will be on it until blood walls thin, then you will be begin to bleed inside, then they will make you stop taking it, and you will have a stoke or heart attack, there are many other ways to thin your blood. its a combination of angiotensin 2 receptor blocker and ACE inhibitor, which did not obtain any benefits in the end point of cardiovascular death, MI, stroke, heart failure. but it has increased the incidence of renal dysfunction(death, doubling of serum creatinine) compared with groups receiving telmisartan or ramipril alone.so concomitant use of these drugs not required. ## Telmisartan is an ARB that is commonly used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions. All medications have certain only medications that they should not be mixed with, since doing so can cause dangerous complications. However, in some cases of severe cardiac problems or medication resistant hypertension, it is necessary to mix the ARB's with ACE inhibitors and the instance of dangerous reactions is ve...
