Hi, I have been taking Miralax for 4 years and never had a stomach problem. I eat the same thing pretty much everyday because I am a diabetic, and have not taken any new meds. The last few days though immediately after taking 2 tsp's with 10oz of water as usual, at the usual time in small sips, I got heart burn. Last week I chugged the whole 10oz down as usual and in the pit of my stomach I had very bad cramping, so when I started sipping it down I did not get cramping, but got the bad heartburn. ## It is possible for almost anything to cause heartburn. Other side effects may include nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, according to FDA reports. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? ## Hi, thanks for the reply. Well, I tried chugging d...

Can I take Prilosec OTC 20.6mg while taking Dexilant Caps. 60mg in the morning. ## Dexilant contains the active ingredient Dexlansoprazole, it is most commonly used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to treat GERD. Prilosec contains the active ingredient Omeprazole, which is a medication in the same class, thus using both is not advisable, because it is doubling up on the same type of medication. Have you consulted your doctor? If you are still experiencing heart burn and acid problems, while taking the Dexilant, it may not be the right medication for you.

Heartburn, also known as pyrosis,[1] cardialgia, or acid indigestion[2] is a burning sensation[3] in the chest, just behind the breastbone or in the epigastrium, the upper central abdomen.[4] The pain often rises in the chest and may radiate to the neck, throat, or angle of the jaw. Heartburn is usually associated with regurgitation of gastric acid (gastric reflux) which is the major symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).[5] It may also be a symptom of ischemic heart disease, thou...

Recently my pharmacy began giving me a new version of fluoxetine, which I have taken for MANY years with no problems.... however the blue fluoxetine gives me horrible heart burn. I use to take them at night before bed, but couldn't sleep, so decided to start taking them in the morning and still get the heartburn. I don't take them with any other meds. I tried an empty stomach, and after eating, but the results are still the same. I also get a bad headache (I think from the heartburn.) Has anyone figured out how to avoid this problem? ## Hi Jen, I truly believe that the root cause of this specific heartburn side effect lies within the "inactive" ingredients found in the blue Fluoxetine pill. Reason I say that is because, when you switch brand names or manufacturers, the d...

After the first dose of doxy-cycl hycl 100mg I have had heart burn ever since I'm on day 3 of a 30 day course. Will this go away or will I have heart burn the whole time? ## Hi JoAnn, Are you taking this medication with any food or on an empty stomach? Although heart burn is not listed as a side effect of Doxycycline, I have come across a number of other posts in which patients mentioned having severe heart burn and have had to call their doctor or go to the emergency room. They also noted that having the pill with food could help relieve some of the symptoms associated with heart burn. There's really no way to tell how long symptoms will last, since everyone reacts to these drugs differently. If it persists though, you may have to consider stopping the medication and opt for a ...

I've been taking Amoxicillin for a week now and have been experiencing heartburn and burping. Could this be due to the medication? ## Hello, Burning Love! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. And yes, it may be due to the medication. Most medications can cause excess stomach acid. This can sometimes be mitigated by taking it with a small meal or snack, but you should check with your doctor or pharmacist first to make sure that it is okay for you to do so. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My mother, aged 85, has been suffering from severe heartburn for several years. hi I've been on vimpat for 6 month no seizers since my problem is the stomach and heart burn that came along with it anyone out there having the same issue and if so what cured your stomach and heart burn while taking vimpat? ## Hello, Aaron! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're having. Have you consulted your doctor? You may need to take a proton pump inhibitor, such as Omeprazole, to prevent these symptoms. The FDA lists its typical side effect as possibly including nausea, dizziness and stomach pain. However, only your doctor can say what would be safe for you to try.

I have been using Ferrimed for a long time, but my iron and blood deficiency became worse. I am always very tired, sleepy and listless. A specialist physician said I most probably have bleeding ulcers due to too much stomach acid. I repeatedly told him that I have NEVER had heart burn or acid reflux my whole life. I did not feel any pain whatsoever when he examined my stomach, etc. He admitted me to the hospital, where his rooms are, to have upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies. I gave thát doctor, beforehand, the same information that I gave the physician. Again I felt no pain when he examined my stomach, etc. Afterwards the procedures, he told my that I have bleeding ulcers. I never saw any "pictures" of the ulcers, and when I asked the rooms of both doctors, they...

Is heart burn a side effect? And can I still drink beer? ## Hello, Rick! How are you? This contains the active ingredient Sildenafil, it is just a foreign name for Viagra and is most commonly used to treat ED. And yes, it can cause heart burn as a side effect, along with nausea, stuffy nose and priapism. As to the beer, you do need to be careful, because this drug works by affecting blood flow and alcohol can thin the blood. Are you on any other medications? Do you have any medical conditions? This may be contraindicated with some. ## can I take fildena if im taking prednisone and tramadol
