Having bad headaches. Seeking relief. I'm out of other pain relieving medication and my Dr. is not available. I took ibuprofen 4+ hours ago. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. How are you feeling?

I understand that there are many side effects of Eliquis. My 41 year old husband has been on Pradaxa in the past and had severe side effects. The dr. has pleaded with him to stick to this one for at least three months, as it is very difficult to get his INR right with Coumadin. What can we do to get some relief from the joint pain? My heart is breaking he is in so much pain. (We're trying heating pad and staying off his feet--right now pain is in his ankles, earlier in the week, it was his knees). ## Hello, Denise! How is your husband doing? That has been a very common complaint from people taking Eliquis and is a known side effect of it, as listed by the FDA. He may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and easy bruising. Typical side effects tend to taper off, after about 4 ...

I have only been on suboxone for 4 days (8mg 1 time a day). It's my first time taking sub's. It's been 12 hours. I went to the hospital and they said I have kidney stones. I'm in a lot of pain. They gave me 10 mg norcos. I'm not looking to feel high just want pain relief. Please advise. ## Hello, Hope! How are you? Oh, I understand, I had a kidney stone a few years ago, and it was horrible. It usually takes about 3 days (72 hours), before other opiates will be effective for you, again, after taking Suboxone for a few days. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I would like to know of anyone has used this medication for headaches? ## yes. didn't help me with pain. put me in a stupor and i felt like a zombie. It was prescribed by MHNI ## I have never used it, but yes, I can tell you that it is sometimes used for certain types of headaches and migraines, that have failed to be alleviated by other meds. Since it reacts to brain chemicals, this can provide some relief for people with certain problems causing their headaches. But, just lik the other poster said, it didn't work for them and it will not work for everybody. Basically when you suffer from some condition causing pain, your doctor has to play the trial and error game to find out which med will work best for you, since there is no comprehensive way at this time, even as far as mod...

Migraine headaches seem to be a trait in my family. My grandmother, mother, myself, and even my daughter...have all suffered from them, starting in early teen years. We have tried other meds but none completely stops the debilitating pain as Darvocet did. No, it did not stop or prevent the migraines but the pains were completely gone until the next dose was due...which allowed us to continue with life and work. With so many people the drug helped through the 50+ years on the market, why not bring it back with a heavy black box warnings? I feel bad for the handful of patients who died on it (though the Tylenol in it kills more a year) but for the many other people who used it without problems...why not bring it back? ## Unfortunately, the FDA deemed the Propoxyphene in Darvocet, and its ...

I need a USA equivalent after dental implants ## It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, this one, Dexketoprofen, isn't available here, but there are several others that are, both over the counter and via prescription. A couple over the counter ones are Aleve and Advil. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Which one has your dentist recommended?

I am currently on Opana ER 20mg twice daily, but with not much pain relief. Would a prescription of 30mg twice daily OR 20mg three times a day be reasonable? I have been in significant pain for a long time and want to get something that would make the pain more bearable. ## It really depends on you. A higher may help, but there is a chance that it might now, it could be that this just isn't the right medication for you. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications?

I've had a migraine for almost 2 days. Past issues with these headaches are typically only resolved by taking ibuprofen. Problem is I am taking xarelto and I was told to only take Tylenol if I need pain relief. I have been taking Tylenol and it is not helping one bit. I thought my doctor said "occasionally" no more than 600mg of Advil would be okay, but I can't seem to reach anyone on the weekend. Please help! ## Hi Kyle, According to The University of Maryland Medical Center drug interaction tool, there is a high interaction potential between Advil and Xarelto. They go on to note that using an anticoagulant with a NSAID is generally not recommended, but because it may be needed in certain cases, you and your doctor should work together to find an appropriate dosing regi...

I'm on a 6 day 4mg pack of methylprednisolone. It was given to me for sciatic and nerve relief. I just finished day 2, still have horrible pain, trouble walking, using the bathroom, get random headaches and diarrhea. The only way I am semi-comfortable is when I am laying on the side that hurts. I haven't had pain in my back, only from my thigh to toes. I still feel the pain when I stand and sit. The only relief I get is when I keep the leg bent while laying on it. I'm desperate for any advice. I've been to the er 4 times, given every muscle relaxer pill, and a shot of morphine. I am scheduled for an mri after the 6 days are up, but freaked out because laying on my back is extremely painful. ## Hello, Hollie! How are you? Does anyone else get pain relief from clonazepam? It doesn't make me relaxed or sleepy; it just relieves pain better than any NSAID. I was prescribed it for chronic daily headache several years ago. Now I still have lower back achiness from a herniated disc surgery last Dec. If I don't take the clonazepam, my back achiness worsens, as well as my headache. I don't feel relaxed, sleepy, high or anything else. Just pain relief. Does anybody have any idea why I seem to get a different reaction than everybody else? ## There are a few possible reasons that you may be experiencing this. One could be due your not taking it sometimes, doing that may cause a rebound effect, which would make your headache and pain worse, it's kind of a mild withdrawal symptom. Another could be due ...

Does anyone have any tips on treating the headaches that goes along with the suboxone? I have had chronic pain issues my whole adult life. I have been very surprised that the suboxone helps my pain very much. I just can't stand these headaches. ## Hello, Cj! How are you? I'm sorry about the headaches. Have you tried any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, if your doctor approves of you taking them, such as Advil or Aleve? Since you're on Suboxone, other narcotics won't work, but many people get relief with NSAIDs. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I am 22 years old male. I have been suffering from headaches for like 6 months. Doctor said it's a migraine and I am now taking tryptomer 10mg for about 2 months. Still, I have that irritating pain in my head, lacking focus while reading, unable to workout like I did before, though the severe pain is reduced. Should I continue with tryptomer? How long does it take to completely recover from this situation? ## Hello, Rishin! How are you doing? Sorry about the headaches! What type of doctor did you see for this? It really sounds like some blood work and possibly a brain scan should be done to see if the exact cause of the headaches can be found. That is what would enable you to find a solution, if any is available. ## Thanks for your reply. The doctor is not specialized in head relate...
