Hello, a few days ago I went to the ER because my BP was extremely high, 208/110. I believe this because I have gained about 30 lbs and have not been eating very healthy lately. I am 39 years old and I was not currently on any blood pressure medication but I have been in the past. I was off about a year. The ER was able to get my BP down and the Dr. gave me a prescription for Lisinopril HCTz 20/12.5 I have been on this in the past but a lower dosage. I have only been on this meds for 2 days and it does lower my BP but it is too low. This morning it was 108/77. I feel very weak with no energy, sleepy, and somewhat depressed. I am worried it is lowering my blood pressure too much and I'm scared I will have hypotension. Can I stop taking this med since it's only been a couple of da...

I have lost 50 lbs and now have low BP 90-60 can I just stop taking the Lisinopril-HCTZ ## Hello, Jerry! How are you? I'm glad you're doing so well! No, please don't just stop it, without your doctor's approval. Doing so creates the risk of rebound high blood pressure and elevated heart rate. You should only stop such a medication, if your doctor approves and in many cases, with a slow taper. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension and dehydration. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've been taking Watson 860, pink-round, lisinopril hctz 10/12.5 for the past 10 years. Is there a lesser dosage of this same pill? ## Hi CC - I checked the drug page on this sit...

white pill ## What does 20/12.5 mg mean? ## The pill you have is Lisinopril (20 mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg). To answer your question, the two numbers simply stand for the milligram of each ingredient. These two drugs are respectively a combination of a diuretic and an ACE inhibitor, to control hypertension. You can view a detailed description of the drug, by clicking on the link below... If you have any more questions or comments to add, please post back so I can further assist you. ## can this pill be cut in half if too strong ## I would check to see if there is a score line on the pill. If so, pills with score lines are generally made to be cut in half. I believe there is a Lisinopril 10 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 7.5 mg combination in which case I personally would feel content ...

Hello I have been taking a blue oval lisnopril 10-12.5 hctz once day. Can I cut this dose in half as I feel that dose is to high for me. There is no score line but have a pill cutter.. ## Ask your Doctor he/she may have something better in mind for you. Don't be doing such things on your own unless ;you are your own MD. ## I'm not suggesting you do this without discussing it with your doctor first, but I will say that cutting a pill in half to take a smaller dosage should not be a major concern as long as the tablet is not an extended/time-released formula. The notion that doing such a thing may be harmful without a doctor's supervision or say so, is "not always true" in my experience. In cases like this, taking the full dosage or tablet more than likely presents a g...

whats the difference between the LM2 pill and the e173 first one is green second one is pink.. ## @P Johnson, By "LM2" are you referring to the round yellowish/green pill marked "M" on one side and "L" over "25" on the other? This was the only Lisinopril tablet I found that had a similar description to yours. It's listed as being manufactured by Mylan. More specifically, it contains 20mgs of Lisinopril along with the following list of inactive ingredients: silicon dioxide + croscarmellose sodium + calcium phosphate dihydrate dibasic + magnesium stearate + mannitol + povidone + corn starch + sodium lauryl sulfate + D&C Yellow No. 10 The second pink pill marked "E 173" is manufactured by Sandoz and reportedly contains 25mg of Hydrochlorothia...

can lisinopril -hctz 10-12 5mgtab be cut in half? ## Hi Shirley, Is there a score line (indent) on the pill? If there is, then it is there specifically for the purpose of cutting the pill in half. Whether or not there is a score line, I would still cut the pill in half if needed. Maybe talk to your doctor about getting a lower dose of this medication if you consistently feel the need to use half a dose. NOTE: cutting a pill in half only works if the pill is in tablet form. This just wouldn't work if it is a capsule, since the contents would fall out. Hope this helps!

i think i took two of my ic lisinopril-hctz 20-25mg tab by accident ## Have you contacted your doctor? Are you experiencing any nausea, dizziness, or other symptoms? You should contact your doctor, or some type of emergency medical services any time you think you may have taken too much of your medication, just to be on the safe side. Both of these medications can be used in higher dosages, but it can cause more side effects and may cause your blood pressure to drop much lower than normal.

It can actually cause low blood pressure as a side effect. Learn more cialis information here. However, why haven't yo been taking the Lisinopril? A blood pressure medication such as it isn't something that is just meant to be taken on an as needed basis. Have you consulted your doctor? Learn more Lisinopril information here.

Was taken 1 tablet daily of bisoprolol/hctz tab 10/6.25. My Dr changed med to lisinopril tab 20mg once a day. Would two tabs of bisoprolo above be the same as the lisinopril? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? No, they are not the same going by what you've listed. The Bisoprolol/HCTZ actually contains 2 ingredients, the Hydrochlorothiazide being a diuretic, so your doctor has basically removed that and has you just taking a blood pressure medication, now. Did your doctor say why they were making the changed?

Just learned that the chronic cough I've had for two years might be caused by this med. What would be the alternative Rx? ## Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Lisinopril. I personally used to have severe hypertension for a number of years, but was able to control it by controlling more of my eating habits and exercising. What works for me may not work for everyone, but my initial advice is to look into natural ways (before prescription alternatives) such as: Low/no sodium foods to help reduce inflammation and water retention, supplementation of garlic, as well as having a diet that is rich in potassium and magnesium. Other dietary and non dietary options for lowering blood pressure can include (but are not limited to): L-Theanine Magnesium Glycinate Coenzyme Q10 Garlic Ha...

I am taking Lisinopril HCTZ 20/25 and I itch from head to toe 24/7. I have no rash. Could the medication be causing the itchiness? ## According to an article on Livestrong.com, "Lisinopril may cause itching or a mild rash on the skin. This is usually a minor side effect that will clear up on its own." However I have also read numerous reports stating that the itching can become pretty unbearable for some individuals, to the point of itching all over. Other people note that there may not be a visible rash accompanied by the itching, but I would still take this as a sign to talk to your doctor about switching medications or using something more natural with less side effects. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Lisinopril Details I hope this helps!

What is a small round pale peach colored pill with E173 imprinted on it? ## What pill is this and what is it used for ## Sherry: lisinopril / hctz is a med to help control blood pressure. ## Lisinopril hctz 20/25 is causing me to have hives all over my body, intense itching to the point I feel I am in an "outer body experience". The pharmacist told me the hctz is a histamine and after taking it for almost one month, it is now officially in my body, and my body has an allergy to it.
