Hair Loss After Stopping The Pill

My partner bashed me in the head and started the onset of complex partial seisures. I have tried Tegretol, Epelim & Topamax but all cause hair loss. I have stopped taking all medications for now and would like to find a drug that stops hair loss. My hair has started to grow back after stopping all drugs 8 months ago. ## If it has finally started growing back, then it may just be best to let it do it naturally, without medication interference. However, one that is used to increase hair growth is Spironolactone, it is used to treat many medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, as a diuretic, to replace potassium and etc. Hair growth is one of its side effects. You can learn more about it here: I've been taking the lowest dose available, for my blood pressure and low potass...

I have been on Multac for 3 yrs now. They put me on it after an ablation and I've only had one episode since and it went back into normal rythym just as the er doc was getting ready to hook me up to an IV. I've only had a total of 4 episodes in 4 years. But my heart rate jumps to 200+ when I do. My Dr was going to take me off of it but then I had that last episode and he has kept me on it. I want to go off and would like to know what might happen if I do stop after taking it for so long. I am a 60 yr old female with no other heart problems. I have experienced fatigue, hair loss and weight gain since being on Multaq, but that might also be age related??? I really would like to see how I do without it, but I or maybe no one knows the effects if stopping after being on it for so lo...

Hi I recently broke my hip, I'm 25 and have been given eliquis to take. It's been 6 weeks now and I'm experiencing my hair start to thin and fall out including my eyelashes. Does anyone know how long it takes to grow back or how long after stopping taking it, your hair stops falling out. At 25 losing my hair is pretty distraught, I could deal with the constant insomnia, low blood pressure and nausea but not this. ## That can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to NIH reports. Are you also taking any others? I have had that happen from medications in the past, so I understand how upsetting it is. You should probably talk to your doctor about trying a different medication.

My hip bone numbers are worse after the 6 month shot. ## Not all medications and treatments work for everyone that tries them, that's why they are usually several choices available in any given therapeutic category. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Prolia as possibly including bladder infection, arm/leg pain and back pain. You may need to speak to your doctor about trying an alternative. Is there anything else I can help with? ## This is a terrible drug. I only took 2 injections in 9/14 and 3/15, but still have the resulting hair damage and jaw pain. My ENT and Dentist both told me that my jaw is messed up...Prolia does mention that as a side effect, but not hair damage. My immune system is weaker too...even 3 years after stopping Prolia. Yeah I'll just take the Osteopo...

My friend is taking ZENOXA 300 for only one EPILEPSY stroke about 4 and half years ago. The dose was 2 tablets of 300 per day and now as per the advice from doctor she started reducing the dose half tablet each month. At present she is taking only half tablet a day and will end the dose on 1st Dec. Now she is suffering a drastic hair loss? Is this because of the reduction of intake of dose? Can anyone please answer what will be the effects after stopping this dose? ## Zenoxa contains the active ingredient Oxcarbazepine and hairloss can be a side effect. Side effects can be more pronounced any time the dosage is adjust to a higher amount or as a rebound effect when the dosage is lowered or the medication is discontinued. And yes, it should stop as her body adjusts to no longer having the...

I've been taking tamzapan for a year and experienceing horrible hair loss Had two surgerys last year as well. Tamzapan even messed my hormones now the doctor is putting me on some hormone replacement Has anyone ever weaned off this nasty drug? ## Alopecia can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and decreased orgasm. Yes, people have weaned off of it successfully, but it must be done via a very slow taper, suddenly stopping creates a risk of seizures. What type of hormonal issues are you having? ## I don't know yet it seems like all the doctors I've been to don't know what's going on. Going to my gynecologist tomorrow hopefully he has some answers Can you loose all hair from surgeries I'm so...

I have been taking diltiazem for at least 10yrs to control migraine headaches. I am 62 and am noticing thinning hair. Seems to have happened overnight. Has anyone experienced this and if so did you have regrowth after stopping the medicine ## Hello, Fran! How are you? The FDA does list hair loss as being among the possible side effects of this medication, along with nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination. And yes, it usually does reverse itself, once you stop taking it. However, please do not stop it abruptly, unless your doctor tells you to do so, a sudden cessation creates the risk of dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate. Is there anything else I can help with? ## You have been very helpful, thanks. I weaned off medicine slowly. Hopefully I will see improveme...

I'm on Livifem now for 7 months and have noticed a massive hair loss. I have decided to stop using it because this is very traumatic to me. Will my hair grow back again? And how long will it take for it to be normal again? Thank you ## The FDA classifies this as a hormonal supplement, so yes, it can cause hair loss as a side effect, along with headache, nausea, irritability, mood swings, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. And yes, the hair loss should stop and your hair should fill back, after stopping it, but it may take a month, or two, before you see improvement. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for that confirmation. Im so confused what on earth should a woman do to be normal again. I have no idea what to use next that doesn't have a side effect. Regards

How long does Dilantin and Naproxen remain in your urine if stopped 3 days before passing away undetermined? And should those 2 meds be given together? My son died at a prison his 15th day there. It's been a year and no one is helping me. I need a time line on those meds please. ## I am so very sorry about your loss and I'll gladly help you with any information I can. For Dilantin it takes anywhere from 110 to 132 hours, or longer in some individuals that may have liver or kidney damage, as reported by the U.S. FDA. (These numbers are overall removal from the body, to be undetectable, except in hair.) Naproxen is approximately 60 to 102 hours, with the same details applying for those with chronic kidney or liver conditions. There are no known interactions or contraindications li...

It may take a month, or so, for things to start to reverse, so your hair fills in, again. Is there anything else I can help with?

How can I stop hair loss due to taking Amlodipine 10mg? ## I would personally recommend natural alternatives to counteract it, that way there is no risk of having even more side effects associated with another prescription medication. I found that supplementing with liver pills is a great source of iron, biotin, and B-vitamins which help to keep hair strong and healthy. Another reliable option is supplementing with fish oil or hemp seed oil; particularly the omega 3 and 6 fatty acids are great for hair. One last option I would recommend is ceedarwood essential oil for stopping the hair from falling out. I urge you to google information about these products for not just hair health, but many other benefits as well. Please post back if you have any other questions or concerns...

I have been taking Diethylpropion for almost 2 months. I have noticed I have lost quite of hair. The medication has been working for me and I have been losing weight but I'm VERY concerned about the hair loss. From the side effects it says you could have hair loss but its rare. I would hate to stop taking it but I can not keep losing more hair. Will this side effect go away with out stopping it? Any answers would be very appreciated! ## Based on my research, I can also confirm that hair loss is listed as a possible side effect of diethylpropion. But from what I understand, these types of side effects generally do not subside until you stop taking what's causing it in the first place. Unfortunately, this would mean stopping the medication. Apparently it is only prescribed for use...

I've been taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg since the middle of March and for the last month or so I've noticed I'm losing a lot of hair and my hair has thinned out a lot. It's getting to the point that I'm scared of brushing it. Does anyone know if this will get better or will I have to quit the medication? I really like how well Wellbutrin works but I don't want to be bald! ## Hello, Cheyenne! How are you? Yes, as reported by the U.S. FDA, this medication has been known to cause hair loss, in some people that take it, you may also experience dizziness, headache and mood swings. However yes, it should go away, once you stop taking the medication. But, rather than stopping abruptly, you should consult your doctor about tapering it, or switching to a different medication...

I've been on Lisimopril for 4 months and all my hair is falling out I'm so sad by this. Im stopping the meds and seeing my doc. I'm searching for a natural way to control your BP. Will my hair grow back and what alternatives can the doctors give me. I'm very scared and worry about my hair loss and side affects from stopping the meds. ## Hello, Joanna! How are you doing? I strongly urge you not to stop it cold turkey, because doing so creates the risk of dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which could lead to health problems, such as heart attack or stroke, as reported by the FDA. And yes, there are other options available that your doctor can prescribe, over 100 of them, actually, so I can't possibly list them all. It's really just a matter of tri...

I was on Incivik, Pegysis and Riboviran for 9 weeks, unfortunately my dr. took me off as I have a gene that resists the antivirus..and I failed this treatment. However, I was fine for the 9 weeks, I am only 134 lbs and gained only about 1 lb. through the 9 weeks even eating all that fat 3 x a day. But the dr. said I was strong willed that is why I did not get real bad side affects like fatique and itchy skin and a light rash. When the dr. took me off the drugs I got withdrawel affects so bad, tight legs, swollen legs, fast breathing, bad rash under my skin on legs, headache, pulling muscles, muscle aches, restless legs, insomia, dry and itchy scalp and hair loss it was terrible. He is worried however after reading on the internet that bad side effects it may have lasting up to a few months EG: hair loss? is this a possibility? Is this the best route to go? He wants to stop taking it after only a day. I am worried however that stopping it ma not be the best solution as he has only had the Nausea thus far. ## Hello, Kerry! How are you? No, if he experiences any of the side effects, they shouldn't last longer than a week or so, after finishing it. He may also experience dizziness, flatulence and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?
