for over 3 weeks have had serious issues with my lips, tongue, overall inside mouth raw, and sandpaper texture...like plastic....severly dry all day and impossible at night. Tried all OTC products no avail....seems lisinopril MUST BE THE CAUSE> any one else. ## What is your current dosage? Lisinopril can cause dry mouth and dehydration, so yes, it could be the cause, however, your symptoms sound much more severe than normal. Have you contacted your doctor about this, yet? You will probably need a dosage reduction or a switch to a different medication. ## I have been getting swollen areas around the mouth which started about every other day and would disappear usually within 12 to 15 hrs. this happened for about 3 wks. then stopped for 1 month. Now it has started again first with upp...

I would like to know how many a day can I take?My toothache is very bad. I have swollen gums and my tooth is chipped. The pill I have is the Mexican one. And for how long do I take them? Or should I just go and get my tooth out? What do u recommend? ## Hello, Cielo! How are you? This is an antibiotic, so while it may help with an infection, if one is present, it will not help with the underlying issue that's caused the infection, such as the chipped tooth, so yes, you do need to see a dentist for a proper treatment. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. What is the dosage as listed on the packaging? What you've stated in the subject line isn't very clear. ## Hello... Can I buy penicillin over the counter or does i...

I had puss leaking from the gums but the dentist did not drain it. He just extracted my bottom row wisdom tooth and gave me Amoxicillin 500 MG 4x. The tooth extraction was about $541, does that sound to high for one tooth? I used all the drug and it seemed to help but I relapsed. My inner cheeks are swollen and it seems to be slightly swollen along my jawline. I had that before taking any prescription so it's not an allergic reaction. Also around my mouth feels a little swollen. What should I do next? The second time I went to the Dentist he didn't prescribe me anything and said the swelling was okay. He never mentioned my inner cheek swelling even though you can't miss it. Should I try another dose of Amoxicillin or something else or maybe 2 antibiotics? I'm on the verg...

I've been on amoxicillin for 3 days now for a gum infection.. within the first day my whole right side of my face swelled up and on the second day my eye was so swollen I could barely open it... its the third day and now not only am I dealing with all this swelling but now my gums are bleeding... is this normal? ## Hi micki, To be completely honest, the reactions you're experiencing don't seem "normal" by any means, but are unfortunately side effects of Amoxicillin. You should speak with your doctor immediately, so the condition doesn't worsen. He/she may need to prescribe a different antibiotic or lower the dosage. You may also want to consider taking a probiotic while on the antibiotic, to reinstate good bacteria in your body. Have you had negative reactions wi...

Hi. I have gum infection due to my wisdom teeth. I am pregnant so I can get them extracted now . But my dentist prescribed Tylenol and amoxicillin now the question is my gum turned red like it was bloodshot after my first dosage of the antibiotics then the next day I discovered that it became really soft and had like a pulse... few hours later blood and what not came out of the pulse and it felt numb like I wasn't feeling any pain again but it's still swollen a bit . Is that it healing? Or I should be worried ## It sounds like you had an abscess infection, and it drained. I experienced many of them, myself, before I finally got rid of all my teeth and got dentures. You should definitely finish the antibiotics, and consult your doctor, or dentist, if you experience any other prob...

I am traveling in Peru and had really bad swelling on my gums at the back. I see a dentist and my wisdom tooth is growing at an angle. But due to my age an operation would mean resting for a few days and because I am on vacation they advised me to keep the wisdom tooth in and cut the tissue around it and clean it. I was also prescribed antibiotics and painkillers for the swollen gum caused by the wisdom tooth. They said the swelling and pain would go but I will have to take the tooth out soon. I have now taken 13 out of 15 antibiotics but still have some swelling and pain on the gums. I am worried the tooth is preventing the swelling to go down and maybe I should get the tooth removed sooner rather then later.

I have a gum infection due to my wisdom tooth growing in but it is just the gum, not my tooth. I was in pain and my dentist told me to take Amoxicillin, he also told me that it may be painful and that i should take advil with it if i cant bare the pain. It has now been 1 day and i have taken 3 Amoxicillin pills in total. I woke up this morning and my gum was very swollen and in a lot of pain. I am also having a very rough time swallowing anything, even my own saliva. I wanted to know if it's normal for my gum to be in this much pain after 1 day of taking the drug and if it should decrease the more I take Amoxicillin (3 times a day)? I can see that my gum has increased in swelling/pain ever since I have taken the drug, my pain was not this bad 2 days ago before I even went to the den...

Is Betamox 500mg safe for swollen ang painful gums? ## Hello, Based on my research, Betamox contains Amoxicillin which is an antibiotic. It is meant to be used for bacterial infections including but limited to: acute otitis media, streptococcal pharyngitis, pneumonia, skin infections, urinary tract infections, salmonella, lyme disease, and chlamydia infections. I would not use this medication to treat swollen and painful gums. If you mix a pinch of salt with warm water and rinse out your mouth with it twice a day, it should help to increase blood circulation in the gums and reduce swelling. I recommend using pink Himalayan salt or sea salt, I wouldn't use table salt unless it's all you have available. Do you know why your gums are swollen? Are you taking any medications that cou...

How are you doing? Has there been any change? Yes, you should continue using it, as instructed. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including terrible taste, nausea and oral irritation. Learn more Augmentin details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Did your doctor or dentist prescribe it for this? If not, then you need to see one of them to confirm the presence of an infection and to ensure that you have enough antibiotic prescribed to finish a full course of treatment. I've taken Provasmin a little over a week 260mg daily. I have swollen hands, lips, itch all over and my gums and throat are somewhat swollen and sore. Could these be side effects of this med? ## Sorry, since this is apparently not a drug listed in the US, at least not under this name, I can't find any information on it. Drugs from other countries are just not regulated like those in the US that are under the guise of the FDA. I know nothing about the side effects, however, what you are experiencing sounds like it could be an allergic reaction. I would recommend talking to your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
