Iam a diabatic and advised by a Doctor to take Glucomate GP1 Fort tablet 1 in morning before food and one at night and I want to know that this tablet has any side effects or due to consuming this tablet in future is there any risk to get any other desises? ## Hello, Vinod! How are you? All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, however, you would be at far greater risk if you do not take a medication and get your blood sugar under control. Letting it continue unchecked may result in organ damage, which could be fatal. As listed by the FDA, the typical side effects of this class of medications usually includes nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

A doctor said that Metformin at times creates deficiency of Vitamin B12 resulting in loss of haemoglobin. My mother is diabetic and B12, folic acid deficient. The medication for B12 and Folic acid did not show satisfactory result after one month because Glycomet was being taken along with them. How far is it correct? Thanks in advance.

I have been taking glycomet gp1 forte for 20 days, but I feel very hungry. Since it is an antibiotic medicine would it create any kidney problems? ## This is not an antibiotic, this is an antidiabetic that is used to help lower and control blood sugar levels. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, diarrhea, and hypoglycemia. Have you been diagnosed with diabetes? Do you have a kidney problem? Uncontrolled diabetes could cause hunger. How often do you check your blood sugar levels?

Is any adverse effect of glycomet gp 2 forte on kidney function reported ! ## It is possible, other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, stomach pain, and hypoglycemia, according to the NIH. However, letting diabetes rage out of control is far, far more dangerous, so you should take it, if your doctor has instructed you to do so, and just make sure to keep all follow up appointments and have all blood work done to check kidney function, as they deem appropriate. Is there anything else I can help with?

Side effects & advanatage of this medicine over other medicines for dioabetes ## Glycomet GP 1 Forte contains controlled release Metformin and Glimepiride. As to advantages over other medications, there is really no way to define that. It really depends on how well it works for the individual that is using it and whether or not it causes you any adverse side effects. The only way to find out is to try it and see if it helps you and doesn't cause any problems. Possible side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, flatulence and low blood sugar.
