I am having pain in the calf zone due to pull of the siatic nerve or so. Is it connected with use of Glycomet SRand Glycomet GPi over long period (of years) to combat diabetics. ## No, it isn't likely that it's due to using the medication, but it may be due to the diabetes itself. Generally my fbs/pps readings are n the range of 130/140, but for 2 months I have been getting readings of 150/160 and hba1c is 7.2. Up till now I have been using glycomet gp1 in the night and glycomet 250 in the morning for the past 3 years. After seeing the past 2 months' reports my doctor prescribed Galvus met 50 mg/1000mg in the night and glycomet 250 in the morning, but I am unable to decide about Galveston met. My doubts are: 1. It's such a strong and powerful medicine to be taken for these readings? 2. If I start this medicine I have to take this continuously and cannot come back to lesser potency medicines once the readings come down? Please clarify. ## Hello, Gopala...

Is any adverse effect of glycomet gp 2 forte on kidney function reported ! ## It is possible, other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, stomach pain, and hypoglycemia, according to the NIH. However, letting diabetes rage out of control is far, far more dangerous, so you should take it, if your doctor has instructed you to do so, and just make sure to keep all follow up appointments and have all blood work done to check kidney function, as they deem appropriate.
