My insulin is on the higher side but my Doctor prescribed me Glycomet 1gm two tablets per day. My body is fat & a few years ago an ultrasound report had shown a fatty liver. Please advise me weight loss medicine appropriate for my age of 52 yrs. Thanks. ## Have you talked to your doctor about it? The best thing you can do would be to just follow a health, low-fat and low sugar diet and get plenty of proper exercise.

My doctor advised me to take GLYCOMET 1gm in the evening and Diamicron MR 30 in the morning. My fasting is around 130 and PP is around 160. I am taking glycomet 1 gm and glynase 5 mg twice daily & Tezloc 40 in the morning, for about 2 yrs, as prescribed by my doctor. My blood sugar & BP is in controle. I was taking Glycomet SR 1 gm 1 tab daily with result that my blood sugar remained - fasting 80-90 and PP 130-140. But for last few months I am taking 2 tab per day and the blood sugar is not comming down from 115 fasting and PP 145-150. Whether I have become immune to the drug? ## IT is possible, but no one can really say, without knowing your medical history as well as your diet habits. Even if you are taking a medication like this, it still doesn't mean you can just eat whatever you want and expect it to lower your blood sugar to normal. I have been taking Glycomet 1gm since the last two years twice daily. 1 after breakfast and 2nd after dinner. I have lost my 6 kg weight in the last two years in which 3 kg has been in the last 6 months only and my face, waist & shoulders shrunk and I'm starting to look very weak. Since the last few days, I have started feeling nervousness also. Is it a side effect of Glycomet 1 gm? My suger level of fasting always maintained 90-100 whereas PP sometimes high, up to 215-235. Otherwise normally it comes in at around 165-180. The average test report of a 3 month test (what you call) has come in at 6 which is called Good. ## You should see your doctor to have this weight loss checked out. I noticed that Glycomet 1gm tablet in my stools floating in the water in the morning.This observation is for the first time.I was of the opinion that the tablet is fast dissolving in the stomach to be very effective.That it has gone trough the alimentary canal without losing its shape is surprising me. I have picked the same and kept in water in a small container to see if it dissolves.Till the time of writing this report the tablet has remained undissolved. Perhaps.the manufacturer M/S USV can throw more light on this subject.

My wife is taking glycomet 1gm for the last 3 yrs n teniva 20 since last 6 months for treatment of diabetes. Besides she is also taking Telsartan 20, Ciladuo 5mg, Rozavel 5mg and Neurobion forte _ all one tab each per day. What are the side effects of these medicines in the long run? I am actually overweight with no diabetes problem, but i was advised by a friend that glycomet would help me to lose weight very quickly. In your opinion, is it advisable? I am now taking GLIZID 80 mg two tabs twice a day and Glycoment 850mg one tab twice a day plus Acarbose 50 mg twice a day. Now doctor advises me to take Glycomet 1gm in place of Glycomet 850gm . I find that Gycomet 1mg is in the XR form. How much metformin does Glycomet 1gm contain? What is the benefit of switching over to Gycomet 1gm (Extended Release)? I am taking following medicines: For BP : Telma Am 40mg & Prolomet XL 50 MG - one each in the morning Telma AM 40 Mg & Prolomet XL 25 MG - one each in the night For Diabetes : Invokana 100 MG - one in the Morning with Tea & Glycomet 1GM - after Breakfast and Dinner. Sugar and BP i s reasonably under control. But I have swelling in the ankles and tightness , pain , sometimes numbness.
