I am Diabetic type 2 and would like to know if I can cut the Glizide in a half to help reduce my symptoms? I read the prescription and it stated no but the pharmacist still suggested that I cut it in 1/2. Please advise. Thanks. ## Hello, Stephanie! How are you? Being diabetic, I am taking pioz 15 & glizide M daily after meals but sugar level remains 160. Pl. suggest may I continue or consult our doctor. Pl. also inform whether 160 is normal blood sugar level after meals. ## It is normal for there to be some elevation after meals, but there are also some other relevant things that should be taken under consideration. The first is, you said you are taking them after you meal, this means that if you are checking your blood sugar level right after you finish eating, the medication hasn't even had a chance to start working, yet. It will take them 15 to 20 minutes to start working in your body and, at that point, the full effects of your food haven't even hit your body, yet.
