Hi. I have been addicted to H/oxycontin for two years. I got clean for 4 months once and never got back to using everyday. I use at the most 3 days a week but most of the time I use just friday night and saturday. When im off opiates i always take 2mg of suboxone daily. Like i said this has been going on for about two years. This is the biggest problem i have when trying to get clean, I know its going to be a struggle but i preparing myself mentally to just grin and bare it but i end up going through this cycle everytime i try to go cold turkey off subs or opiates. The first day i wake up feeling s***ty but go about my day. I go to work and feel super weak and out of it, my nose usually starts running like crazy and its hard to move and I have zero motivation. As the day progresses my n...

Well yesterday was my last day of subs for me. I tapered myself all the way down to .5mg a day. I'm ok today but my back is starting to mess with me, but I'm fine. The highest dose I've ever taken was 8mg but didn't like the way it made me feel. I've been on subs for almost 5yrs now and it's just time to stop. I'M SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED!! It all started with a real bad car accident in which I rolled my car 4 times on I95 in Virginia almost 11yrs ago. Was put on pain pills and the next thing you know I was using oxy's and H main streaming it. Got clean then went right back to it. Went to methadone clinic, and then switch to subs and here I am almost 5yrs later. The hardest part for me right now is that I have a full time job that I like, an...

I have been on suboxone for over 2 years now. I have attempted several times to stop using them but I haven't been successful. I take 1-2mg a day. I have tried weening more than that but suffered terrible withdrawals. I would like to know if anyone has been successful at this or have found another way to stop using suboxone. I thought this was a miracle drug for opioid dependency but its worse than opioid addiction. ## From what I can tell based on your description, I would honestly consider asking a pain clinic for assistance in tapering, since it seems to effect you so significantly. Just keep in mind that you definitely aren't alone on this matter. There are quite a few threads posted here with individuals trying to withdrawal from this dangerous drug. In the meantime you may...

I was an opiate addict for numerous different years and I went to inpatient and outpatient rehab but they never gave me suboxone. The second I got out of rehab I did more opiates, and I did them for another year or so and I tried suboxone and that is what I stuck with. Well it is getting very expensive and I was not getting myself off it very good and now I am pretty much addicted to that. If I can't find suboxone I usually find another opiate to take. My main question is, if I go to an outpatient rehab, is there anyway I could still get suboxone? I want to get off suboxone and other opiates and I do believe this would be the way to do it. Suboxone withdrawl is rough so any thoughts or anything would be appreciated! ## Hi Andy, I don't know how the outpatient clinic type places ...

I had as bad a opiate habit as I have ever heard of from anyone until six years ago. During my final days, I was taking 12+ 80 mg Oxycontin a day. That's right, a day. that's the equivalent of 180 regular 5 mg Percocets a day when I finally OD'd on Christmas day. I was a 55+ yr old professional, married for 32 yrs, with 3 adult children. Sadly, they were prescribed by my Doctor. It's unbelievable now that I think back on it. Started out 1 perc 5 mg at a time 30 yrs earlier for my back. Loved them and kept it up until BOOM. Anyway, I tried many times to get off, but when I OD'd it was definitely time to succeed and I started on Suboxone 8/2mgs 3 times a day and have been on them for 6 years. I got my life back and it has been pretty normal since(if any life is normal)...

Why is there no information anywhere on how to get off suboxone or zubsolv.... since recently I was switched to the zubsolv and I hate it. Any success stories out there? If so, please share how u did it. Been addicted to opiates for four yrs and on synthetics now for a yr. My doctor is useless and I'd rather hear it from someone who's lived it anyways. ## There is absolutely no way to avoid withdrawals from opiates. ## Subs are made to be taken long term, all depending on your abuse and history. my Dr had me on it for 6 yrs. I have the understanding that I will be on it the rest of my life due to the damage I've done abusing H, oxycintin 80s, roxys, morphine for a good decade ...sub's are harder to get off of then anything out there, H included, due to its Half Life. The...

I started taking suboxone Oct 1 after 13 years of methadone. I started at 3 a day and for the last 2 weeks im down to 1 a day. How quick can I get off of Sub? Ive been taking it for days now. The methadone is gone now I want this gone. ## Well, it's usually tapered very slowly to prevent the withdrawals and cravings that usually cause someone to end up back where they started. Learn more Suboxone details here. What type of taper schedule has your doctor advised?

I was using pain pills for a few years! I have been on suboxone 4 mg for 2 yrs. I have terrible anxiety & depression & am on Cellexa & klonopin for that. That helps! I tried detoxing myself off the Suboxone 2wks ago & went thru hell, after a wk I was better. But still no sleep, achey, nauseous, headache & overall felt like bad flu. Well I relapsed & now am back on it! I want to wean myself off-But am getting my Dr to get me in an outpatient rehab-I have a 2 & 10 yr old & live with my parents. They know it all & My Mom helped me go thru the withdrawls before & had to hold me from shaking. I want off of it fast!! What can I do beside a month of weaning down that will flush it out quicker so withdrawls are easier?? Thanks ## From what I have read/hear...

Thank you. ## I also was addicted to pain meds. and I've now been on the Suboxone Strips for about 3 months, what you may no know is that Suboxone is an opiate inhibitor, with means, while you are on the Suboxone, you will not want a pain pill. After you have been on it for a while, you can make the decision that you want to try to get off of the Suboxone,...

I'm on day four of no subs after a 24 mg a day treatment for pain and addiction. I wish i never touched the stuff. My pain management doc reccommended them to me after a year long perc and vic habit. I wish i just would of suffered throught the few days of WD from that instead of going on subs. THEY DID GIVE ME MY LIFE BACK. BUT!!!! They are very very very hard to let go of. The WD is not as intense as dope sick but it is drawn out and mostly mental. The first week is achey and pissed off. I know that because thats how far i got before then started subs again. I'm on day four trying again. I got some valium this time to help me throught the worst of it so I'm hoping I will win the battle this time. I'm at work today and i'm an emt and i'm getting through on energ...

I've been on the methadone program for abit longer then a yr and I want to get off now, I can say for sure that I'm hooked on it.. Is it possible I can quit dry turkey? Without moving down milligram at a time or could I hurt myself by doing such a thing? ## Hi Jessika! I would suggest tapering down SLOWLY or you could go through some bad withdrawals. I was on methadone and tapered down slowly and still went through withdrawals. I ended up going on Suboxone. ## You should definitely NOT QUIT COLD TURKEY, especially since you've been on Methadone for over one year! Most people take the dose down by10mg until they reach 100 mg and then 5 mg per day. I went from 160 mg all the way down to 5 mg. Believe it or not, the 5mg worked and I didn't have bad withdrawals. If you taper...

Hello all. I am a 22 year old mama to a 10 month old baby. I desperately need to get off opiates.. I mean, my situation pales in comparison to some...but withdrawals are withdrawals all the same. I'm hoping for some helpful advice and tips! I've only been addicted to opiates for about 9 months. I got tabs from my OB after birth, then my boyfriend starting getting tabs, Percs, oxy, roxy....from friends, not prescribed :/ only taking about 30-60 mg a day. Not as bad as some but quitting cold turkey really kills me! Not only am I a mother I am a young professional as well with a great job. I actually just got a raise sooo definitely can't let them down by missing work to detox, besides that I have a wonderful baby who requires and deserves my full attention and I want the energ...

I read almost all your posts. I think I'm way off here probably just a little off in the head. I've been on vicoden and oxy's since 2003. 98% of the time I was buying the crap off the street. The other 2% I would intentionally hurt myself to get a script, pathetic I know. I took a leap of faith and stopped. Went to a Methadone clinic and regretted it ever since. Missed important life moments and lost all my friends. I was on that crap for 4 years and stopped after weening down to nothing. I was clean for over 6 months before cravings got the better of me and I started stealing family members suboxones strips. Now that member is stopping, I'm going nuts. Depressed and constantly thinking suicidal thoughts. I'm 26years old and I'm getting to thinking I need suboxon...

I am the wife of a pain killer addict. I am new to all this and I am so confused. My husband is now is rehab and taking something called suboxone. I am trying to figure out what suboxone is and why he needs it. Please help???? ## suboxone is a pill they give someone to help them come off of painkillers they help with withdraws and cravings. its so hard to come off painkillers, it's very very painful! ## I am praying for you & your husband. My ex-husband is almost 10 years older then me-we married when I was only 20 & had 2 beautiful children together-however I was unaware for along time that he was a pill addict,as the years went by I started to notice how often he kept getting injured & going to emergency rooms then different doctors-till after about 6 years we both had...

I was on suboxone but had 4wheeler wreck and I started using pain pills again and quit suboxone program. Can I get back on program or will they not let me since I didn't finish the program the last time ## I don,t see why they wouldn,t let you back in sub program. Last time I went back it took awhile to find a doctor because they can only have so many patients and they were all full. ## Dear Colt, there shouldn't b a problem with u getting back on subs. My son went on and off, 2. He was on pain pills and went on subs and started using, again and then went back on subs. He just called his Dr and they put him back on. They won't refuse u treatment if u want it. If not where u were, then find another Dr or clinic.GOOD LUCK!

If you are struggling with getting off Suboxone successfully, you may want to take the time to read this. I have read a ton of hype about Suboxone being impossible to get off. How the withdrawal symptoms carry on for days, even months. Below, I would like to encourage you and let you know that it can be done. I AM LIVING PROOF YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH THIS FEAT!!! I have been free of Suboxone and all other drugs and alcohol for 3 months and I have never felt better in my life!!! THE WAY THAT SUCCESS HAPPENED FOR ME AND CAN HAPPEN FOR YOU: For months I read Suboxone blog sites in the effort to gather some element of hope that would encourage me to make the “jump” to get off my final 1/8 tab (1mg) of Suboxone. At the point I started reading these blog sites, I had come down from 2.5...

How can I stay on suboxone when the doctor wants to take me off? ## Don,t know if it would work but you could tell him you still have urges to use and you don,t think your ready yet. Why do you want to stay on it? ## Hi Bill Brasksi! As Jolter said,"u can tell the Dr that u r still having cravings 2 use." I've been on suboxone 4 almost 8 years, and, I don't plan on getting off it anytime soon. My reason is I feel that I will b back on pain pills, again. (Due. 2 the pain I suffer) I'm just not ready, yet, and, I don't trust myself. ## @Bill, Does your doctor want you off Suboxone indefinitely or is he just trying to get you to taper down from what you've already been taking? In either case, I think it would be a good idea to ask your doctor his reasoning for w...

Everyone, granted, has a different body and brain chemistry so no one patient can be held up as the shining example of "How Everyone Can Move Off Suboxone Withdrawal-Free" (in ten easy lessons). Every story is unique. Having said that, I would really appreciate getting data from those of you who (like me) have been on some form of opiate usage for 20 years and who is currently going through weaning himself off the suboxone over a two month period. This is after three years of replacement therapy approved by the VA. What's YOUR story? Anyone have happy endings they want to share? Any cautionary tales of coming off suboxone too fast? Lay it on me! ## If it's of any help I went ahead posted a link below to one of the other discussion threads here relating to Suboxone. Maybe...

I am try ing to get off suboxoneand xanax. I am taking about 1/8 of a 2mg suboxane 2 x a day and down to 1 .5mg xanax a day. I am getting blurred vision, confusion, anxiety, trouble sleeping. Tremors, When I take a little more suboxone, it goes away. I was down to 1/2a .5mg xanax and 1/4 to less of a suboxone a day, but the withdrawls from the suboxone ocurred w/in 2-3 days. diarrhea, sweats, anxiety, How do I gat off this with the least affects? ## Geographic location is Florida, I have been on Suboxone and Xanax for over a year and a half. Just want to know best way to stop taking it without the scary side-effects with the vision and tremors. ## The Buprenorphine in the Suboxone is a very potent narcotic, so it does require a very, very slow taper to stop taking it and avoid the bad w...
