I have narcolepsy and have been on 20mg of Methylin (generic Ritalin) 3 times a day for some time now. I didn't seem as effective as it was at first, so I did some research and asked my Dr about the amphetamine class of meds. He prescribed Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine). I was awake but not motivated to actually do anything. I needed a nap everyday. I asked to go back on the Ritalin. He agreed but seemed surprised that Methylin worked better for me than dextroamphetamine. Shortly after that I asked for my dose to be increased. Remember, I'm on 20mg 3 times a day. I asked to increase it to 4 times a day (just in the office - I didn't have an appointment at the time. Am I going to have a really difficult time finding a Dr that will make this increase? I've read there are na...

I'm unable to locate a photo of the pill itself, however, Sandoz Canada does have contact information which you can call or email and someone there may be able to send you a photo of the pill or help in describing the physical properties of the pill: As far as information goes, Ritalin tablets contain the active ingredient methylphenidate hydrochloride, which is a psychostimulant drug approved for treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and narcol...

ciba ## Sorry, you have not provided enough information. This drug is available in both name brand and generic versions. There are many generic manufacturers and each one of them will make a pill that looks different. There are no rules saying that pills with the same ingredient have to look the same! The size, color, shape and imprint will all vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. The only relevant regulations from the FDA state that they must have unique imprints for identification purposes, but these will even differ by manufacturer and strength of the med. In order to identify your pill for you and tell you what it is, you need to provide the complete imprint from the pill, all letters, numbers and/or symbols that may be on it, as well as the color and shape. Then I can look it up...

I have some small yellow pills with a R on one side and nothing on the other side. This is supposedly 20mg. Ritalin? ## No, that's not a Ritalin or generic for it that's available on the U.S. market. With just an R on them and nothing else, they are actually most likely something that's available over the counter. Where were they obtained? ## I am going for a psych. eval. next week and should perhaps mention it to my doctor. What do you think?

Here's an FDA report of companies having recalls due to quality problems like non sterile, defective, mislabeled, etc. I want to help people because, I've also had numerous problems with various generics. Companies are: Actavis=multiple medications, SCA pharmaceuticals=multiple medications, Mylan= multiple medications, Westward=Fentanyl, NovoBflexpro, Hospital, Sandboz, TMIG, Dr.Reddys, Valeant, Perrigo, Zydus, Fagron, Texas Star, Galderma, Safecor, AstraZeneca, WellCare, I may have missed some and time didn't allow to include all the types of medications but, they ran the gamut from generic Ritalin, clonazapam, Baclofen, Risperdol, Doxycycline, Donnatol, Haloperidol, Midazolam, canasartan, cileatil, Tudoza, Librax, and various injectables. Please check the FDA's site if...

show all forms of ritalin pictures of different capsule shape ritalin? ## Since Ritalin is available as both a name brand and generic, there are far too many on the market for me to be able to post images and descriptions of all of them. For instance, the name brand Ritalin LA, which is capsule shaped has different markings, depending on the dosage, here's a description of those: Yellow, capsule shaped, marked with NVR R30, 30mgs. White, capsule shaped, marked with NVR R20, 20mgs. Brown, capsule shaped, marked with NVR R40, 40mgs. White/Brown, capsule shaped, marked with NVR R10, 10mgs. And that is just the name brand Ritalin LA. Are there any markings on the one you are questioning? If it doesn't match any of these, please post back and I will gladly check for you. ## This is a...

Seems that most of the generic Ritalin manufacturers are back ordered. All the pharmacies I have called are out. Is there another medication I can request from my doctor. I take 20mg 3X daily ## Have you tried actually going to the pharmacies, with your prescription in hand to see if they have it in stock? Since Ritalin is a controlled substance, a phone call will usually not get you an accurate answer, because they have no way of knowing if the person on the other end of the line is a legitimate customer with a need, or a potential thief. Otherwise, the alternatives, such as Adderall, may also be difficult to find, as we've had similar complaints from people that need to fill their prescriptions for it, as well.

white round scored one one side. Other side has large muti letter Cc as like a symbol ## Did you mean a GG imprint? Yes, there are Methylphenidate tablets with the GG logo on them, it's a generic for Ritalin that's manufactured by Sandoz. However, there should be additional numbers and it's only by knowing those that I would be able to tell you definitively what your tablets contain. Can you please post back with more information?

Hi. I have ADHD along with depression. I use Escitalophram 10mg at bedtime for depression, also along with 5 mg. Ambien. I used to take Temazapam 10 mg before I saw studies associating it with either dementia or Alzheimer's, from which my father died. I also have sleep apnea. Understanding that one's ADHD is not effectively addressed until the depression is first being addressed, my psychiatrist is prescribing 40 mg generic ADDERAL (E 401) x 2 in the morning and generic Ritalin 20mg in the afternoon, though I suspect at least 40mg would work better since Ritalin is not as strong as ADDERALL and even theoretically 20mg Ritalin is only 10 mg of ADDERALL. I also find myself having to financially start over again at 70, but Kentucky Fried Chickens 'Colonel did this at 65 and I a...

I was on Adderall XR 30 mg, 3X/day for a long time until all the generics came out with the ineffective fillers and they became ineffective. My doctor then switched me to Ritalin 20 mg, 3X/day. They did help to perk me up. I'm on a heavy dose of morphine thru an infusion pump for chronic pain for almost 10 years. I called the office to tell them about the side effects I was having: INTENSE sweating, ANGER, mood changes. I was told to reduce the script to 1/2 pill in the am and 1/2 in the pm. This was a little too low so I take 1 tablet in the am and 1/2 in the pm. So far, this seems to be working well and the sweating has decreased almost 98%, anger is gone. I think I'll stay here since its working. Has anyone else had issues with Ritalin? ## Those can be normal side effects of ...
