what pharmacy carries ethex brand generic oxycontin? ## There is no generic Oxycontin, to prevent abuse and diversion, Oxycontin is only available as the brand name made by Purdue. Ethex does make a generic of the regular release formulation, the name brand for it would be Roxicodone. It contains the same active ingredient, but it is not time released and it is not available in an 80mg dosage. Do you have any questions? ## i didn't ask if it exists or not,,,IT EXISTS. ethex is paying royalties to purdue to distribute the old formula of ocs. apotex is doing the same thing, i'm wondering where BESIDES WALGREENS can you get these GENERIC OXYS? THAT IS THE QUESTION. THEY DO EXIST AND THEY ARE ONLY $10.41 EACH. THEY ARE NOT LEFT OVER. THE PATENT EXPIRED ON THE 20'S, 40'S AND ...

There are new-generic 2017 Oxycontin now. My pharmacy filled my script with generic because they thought my Dr. Did not write "no substitution" he did by checking the "no substitution" box so they had to unfill & refill with OP's, not knowing what they are like, I did not want the generic. What do the 80 mg tablets look like? Do they work as well as the OP's? Who is the manufacturer? ## There is no generic Oxycontin currently available on the U.S. market. Generics are only available for the ones that aren't time released. What are the markings on the one the pharmacy provided you with? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. ## ...

What Oxycontin pills are available without ER? And what dosage is available that are Not ER? ## Hello, Tami! How are you? Oxycontin is the name brand for the time released formulation, so none of it is available as a regular release formulation. The regular release formulations of Oxycodone would be OxyIR or Roxicodone, both of which are also available as generics. The OxyIR, which is an instant release is only available in 5mg capsules. However, the regular release is available in 5, 7.5, 15 and 30mg tablets. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. This is just for Oxycodone, by itself. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am currently trying to get information on the new released generic Oxycontin 80 milligram tablets .I have heard that by the end of this month there will be a couple of new generic brand Oxycontin 80's made available at a reduced cost here in Ontario Canada .The current cost I have to pay for the dosage of Oxycontin 80 milligram tablets I am taking is $233.oo a week or $932.oo a month ( That though is for the Oxycodone which I found when we changed over from the Oxycontin's was a bit less effective in pain relief) So I for one will be happy to see when the generic brand Oxycontin's are released .If of course their strength is as good as the original Oxycontin's were . If you have any information regarding the new generic brand Oxycontin 80 milligram ,IE the name brand ,...

Is this brand of Oxycontin 80 mg ER going to stay on the market as an Ethex generic form? ## There is currently no generic Oxycontin available and there will not be for the foreseeable future. They did away with the generic several years ago to help prevent abuse and diversion, so you can only get the name brand from Purdue Pharma and all of that is being switched to the new Oxycontin OP. There are generics available of the regular release and the immediate release formulations and Ethex does make those, but no generic of the time released. Do you have any other questions?

Are there any generic forms of Oxycontin, the OC type, in any dosage? I remember that a while ago there were some generics out for this medication, but it seems like they have all disappeared. ## Yes, they have all been removed from the market, due to the ever increasing amounts of abuse, theft and diversion. The time released formulation of Oxycodone is now only available in the name brand Oxycontin, manufactured by Purdue Pharma. The basic idea was that if it's only made by one manufacturer, then it makes it much easier to keep track of the supply and prevent theft and diversion. However, there are other formulations of Oxycodone, which are available as both name brands and generics. There is an immediate release formulation, the name brand for it would be OxyIR and there is a reg...

Im perscribed OC 40 mg. with the OP on the market the OC became the generic Oxycodone 40 mg. The question is there is Oxycontin 40 mg in capsules. Basicly is that equal to the Oxycodone 40 without the buffer in it ## There is no generic for Oxycontin, both the one with the OC and the one with the OP marking are made by Purdue, they just reformulated to help prevent abuse and discontinued manufacturing the original that had the OC marking. Oxycontin contains Oxycodone in a time released formulation. As to the other formulations, no, there is none available in a 40mg dosage. The immediate release capsule is only available in a 5mg dosage and the regular release tablets are only available in a maximum dosage of 30mgs. Is there anything else I can help with?

The manufacturer is Purdue Pharma and they have completely replaced the product with the new one that had the OP marking. It had been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Have you tried asking your doctor about trying a different medication? There is a time released Morphine available, as a generic and name brand. The brand is MS Contin. Side effects...

Long story short, my new insurance will not cover 1/3 of my 30 mg oxycontin. I notice on my breakthrough meds, Oxycodone 20 mg, the bottle says, "Generic for Roxicodone." Is there another name for Oxycodone that my insurance will cover? Btw, my ins. will cover 4 a day 60 mg and the same for 80 mg! I am only asking for 3 a day of the 30 mg! What is funny is playing with insurance coverage online, I put in 100 pills a day for oxycodone, and my insurance will approve! Really? I realize that would never happen, but I am just saying, they have got their heads up their..... ## No, there is no other name for Oxycontin, the active ingredient is Oxycodone in a time released formulation, but it isn't available as a generic anymore. I was on oxycodone, 40 mg. and live in N.J.. The pharmacy's are telling me that as soon as they run out of it , it will only be available in oxycontin, has anyone else come accross this issue, it happened last month, 7-08.? ## yes,i also take the same thing, and i was also told the same thing.I live in Tennessee. ## That is exactly correct. Due to rampant abuse and theft, the time released Oxycodone is no longer available for generic production, only the name brand will be available. ## Yes, I have heard the same thing. I live in NJ. It was because of a lawsuit. The brand name company doesnt want to keep losing their business to the manufacturer of the generic. I have been on oxycodone for 5 years. I am currently without insurance and had to pay 100% of the generic. It cost 424.00 fo...

My mother in law has cancer and will die from it, the cancer has been eating at her bones, the doctor has prescribed her the Oxycontin 20mg but her insurance does not cover it and the pharmacy wants $300 for 2.5 days or I guess pills, that's crazy. Until she gets approved for Medicaid we need to find some cheaper place to fill a prescription for it. Does anyone know where we could buy it cheaper with the prescription? ## Actually, what I'd suggest is asking about getting MS Contin prescribed for her, instead of the Oxycontin. It's a time released formulation of Morphine, but it is available as a generic, so it's much cheaper, even if her insurance doesn't cover it. Learn more Morphine details here. I used to be on it and it wasn't even $100 for the entire month s...

I was released from the hospital today & they gave me four rxs one of them is oxycontin 40mg x 60 pills. My wife went to our local pharmacy & when they rang up the total she cried. It can to over $600.00 dollars $425.00 dollars was for the 40 milligram oxycontin pills x60 pills is there a generic or even better ( since we don't have insurance ) a way to contact the company to see if they can help ? ## No, there is no generic of Oxycontin currently available, they were all discontinued due to the great risk of diversion. The FDA felt that if it was only made by one company, then the supplies on the market would be easier to track and monitor. However, if you have no insurance, the manufacturer Purdue does have an assistance program you can apply for. You must meet the qualifi...

My insurance no longer covers Oxycotin 40mg ER. I was taking it 2 x a day and also taking Oxycodone 30mg 3 x a day due to my injury. I will like to know what will be a good substitute for Oxycotin 40mg ER. Thanks a lot. ## Hello, Matraquita! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you've run into. There are several other options available, including MS Contin and Opana ER, both are time released and are available as generics. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, only your doctor can decide what would be right for you to try. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Sorry to be so negative but anytime release...

I think my my drug store gave me generic instead of my regular brand name of OxyContin and charged me the same price ## Hello, Poopoo! How are you? At this time, there is no generic available for it. There is Oxycontin, which should have an OP on one side and 40 on the other side of the tablet, which is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and there is Xartemis, which is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, I believe there are couple others the FDA has approved, but they are not commonly available, yet. However, all are name brand medications, in time released formulations, with abuse deterrent features. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What are the m...

Could you please let me know how many companies make 40mg oxycontin the 40mg I get from perdu pharma I had 1 past right through me still round but the color change from brown to white and they are taking way to long to work and do not last. Would like to try a different 40mg from another company. ## Hello, Barry! How are you? Currently, the time released formulation, Oxycontin, is only available from Purdue. To try to keep better control of the supply in order to curb theft and diversion, the others were removed from the market. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Which is stronger? My new insurance won't pay for oxycontin and substituted generic percoset but it doesn't seem to work as well. Is it my imagination? ## Hello, John! How are you? Oxycodone and Oxycontin are the same medication, Oxycontin is just a name brand for the time released version of it, so the 30mgs is stronger, it's just released slowly over an 8 hour period, as compared to the regular release that is released all at once. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. You may want to ask our doctor about possibly trying MS Contin, it is a time released formulation of Morphine that is also available as a generic, so most insura...

We have lost our health insurance and now I have to pay retail for my pain med I have been on for 8 years. I nee to know which pharmacy has the best price on the cost to me. Also dose anyone know what the pharamacy pays for the Oxycontin 40 mg wholesale. ## I'm sorry, but there's really no central database listing the price any pharmacy charges, it varies depending on how much you are buying, by location and which pharmacy you use. Oxycontin is also a name brand, so it is still quite expensive. My suggestion would be that you talk to your doctor about using an alternative medication that would be much cheaper. There is a time released Morphine available, the name brand is MS Contin, but it's also available as a generic. You'd just need a higher dose of it to be equivalen...
