My insurance coverage doesn't allow for me to use the Name brand Detrol LA, so they have substituted the generic form. I have found that it doesn't work. I find I am running to the bathroom just as often as before the on the generic. The name brand did work fine. A little frustrating. The generics should be required to work the same way before being mandated to be a comparable substitute. These are drugs you are taking with side effects and conditions that need to be properly addressed. We are still paying for these sad replacements. ## They are required to work the same way. It could be that this medication just doesn't work for you and you may need to try something else. There are several other options available, such as Ditropan LA. I recently went on to AvMed/Medicare in July 2013 and now my Librax and generic are not covered by Medicare. I was given Bentyl and took it for a few weeks and got very, very sick from it. It took about 3 weeks to finally get the Bentyl out of my system.I think this is outrageous that they do not cover for this medication. I started taking it in Nov. 2011 and had great results. I have battling this since I was 24 and now I am 65 and was so happy to finally start to feel good. When I worked they always deducted for Medicare and we have a deduction on our monthy SS checks so why can't we get what we need. In the long run people will be going to the doctor's more often and having test and will cost the insurance company more money. Looks like we have to be indegent or come off a bo...

is there a generic pill for livalo? ## Information I've gathered states the following: A generic version of Livalo (pitavastatin) is not available. This medication is protected by patents and exclusivity rights that prevent a generic version of the drug from being manufactured in the United States. The earliest predictable date that a generic Livalo product could become available is in May or June 2015, after the first patent expires. NOTE: Pitavastatin is the active ingredient in Livalo, but it is not a generic version of it. Once the drug goes off-patent, there may be several companies that manufacture a generic Livalo drug. I hope this information helps!

I am currently using Prexum 4 mg daily to control my blood pressure. The co-payment is very high. Can anybody suggest a good generic that will be a cheaper co-payment but at the same time not compromise my health. My GP says as long as I can afford the co-payment i should rather stick to the Prexum.
