acurate pain pills ## What is Generic Medicine? Why is it called Generic? If you are looking for answers of these questions then you are at the right place. By the time you finish reading this article, your knowledge on this subject will be enhanced to a new level. Let's first understand the need to have different names for medicines. To put this theory in simple words, orange juice is something consumed everyday, but an orange juice manufacturing company would want to give their product a unique name that is different from the common tag "orange juice" and this new name becomes its brand name. Similarly, a generic name is a chemical name given to a medicine keeping in mind the active ingredients present in it. A brand name is a name given by the manufacturing company to dif...

I have been taking branded COZAAR for several years. Recently, my GP switched me over to generic version of Losartan Potassium. The side effects I am experiencing is unbearable. Where or who should I write to restore my medication to the Branded one? ## If it is your doctor that is writing the prescription for the generic, then that is who you will have to speak to and ask them to write it for the brand, instead. There is a place on the prescription where he can right or check off the phrase 'brand medically necessary.' and then that is what the pharmacy has to dispense. There can be some variations from the name brand to the generic, since the FDA does allow a difference, in the active ingredient, of up to plus or minus 20%, which they consider an acceptable therapeutic window....

I found in the generic Bystolic, among other chemicals as inactive ingredients Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and at least one artificial color ?! Both of this chemical are well known cncerogen, any explanation for that ?! As soon as possible I’ll replace it. ## Hello, Snoopy! How are you? While some of the inactive ingredients may be known to be carcinogens, if you read the research studies, that's usually if someone is ingesting very high amounts for a long period of time. However, the amounts in a pill are minuscule and in those amounts, the FDA considers them to be generally safe for long-term use. This is frequently misunderstood, even when it comes to something such as dogs eating chocolate. A little nibble won't result in a death sentence, they'd have to eat a lot, in mo...

They are saying that the new opana works as well as the old. People who are being treated awful by medical doctors and pain clinics because they have pain also need to speak up. ## I am very sorry that people are suffering due to the medication changes. Has anyone noticed that taking generic Paxil is not as effective as the real deal? I'm having a terrible time with recurring anxiety symptoms. ## While patients may experience slight differences between medications, the generic market is highly regulated in both the U.S. and Australia (where I live). The drug concentration is the same within the tablet, it will have the same absorption profile, same extent of absorption. Therefore in all likelyhood it should work exactly the same (within acceptable limits) as the original brand. The only changes present could be due to the inactive ingredients within the formulation which a patient may be sensitive or intolerant to. While this does not affect the effectiveness of the medication it may introduce side-effects.
