Pharmacy recently switched me to new generic brand (blue capsule) of adderall XR. I have never seen this brand and I don't feel like it is effective. I lack concentration and focus, recurring symptoms of ADHD. Anyone else experience this? ## There can be some slight fluctuations in the amount of active ingredient in generic medications. The FDA considers these fluctuations to be acceptable therapeutic windows, but some people are more sensitive than others and experience problems with any slight change in their medication. Learn more Adderall details here. If you have insurance, you could try asking your doctor to prescribe it as 'brand medically necessary' so your insurance will cover it and you won't experience such fluctuations in the future, or your can try asking yo...

I am currently without insurance and I had to pay $275 (cheapest I could find) for my GENERIC Adderall XR 20mg/60 count. I have read that Teva was the only one to produce the generic version for 180 days from the launch date, which was 4/2/09. My math indicates their 180 days will be up in two days (9/30/09) but I can't find out if any other companies are going to be producing the generic which should drive the price down significantly. Does anyone have any information about anyone else producing the generic Adderall XR 20 mg other than Teva/Barr? The generic name is Dextroamphetamine+amphetamine mixed salts, extended release. I cannot keep paying almost $300/mo for medication. I take it for narcolepsy and cannot function without it. So I am stuck between a rock and a hard place her...

Is there anyone else experiencing your normal ADHD symptoms a little amplified actually on top of moodiness and being very outspoken in a blunt way while taking this new blue generic pill ## What medication are you talking about? You didn't specify, nor did you post in any specific drug forum. Are you asking about a generic for Adderall XR? Learn more Adderall details here. Who is the manufacturer, or what are the markings on them? ## The blue generic capsule for Adderall XR 20 is horrible. It is definitely not any where near the same combination of medications as the original or the first generic. Waste of money, time, energy and causes frustration, depression, irritability, inability to sleep, etc. Should be taken off the market. Those who like it seem to be very few and far betwe...

How do I find the fillers in the Adderall 20mg XR generic by Shire? It is not an authorized generic so inactive ingredients of one might be different from inactive ingredients of other. Very bad response to shire generic, hoping it is difference in inactive substances versus adderall suddenly being not good for me. Thanks in advance for any suggestions ## I'm not sure what you mean that it's not an authorized generic. If a generic is available on the U.S. market then it has been legally authorized by the FDA. Additionally, Shire doesn't manufacture a generic, they manufacture the name brand Adderall. And the inactive ingredients can always differ from one manufacturer to another, they just have to pick from the list of substances that the FDA has on their list. Can you pleas...

I have been on Adderall XR 20mg once a day and my dr wrote it for 10mg twice daily; yet the pharmacist filled regular generic adderall xr; I know this because I compared those with a photo from Barr! What should I do? ## I made an error; he filled generic adderall 10mg IR; Not XR as my Dr had written by Barr! ## Don't be alarmed, Adderall 20 mg and the generic version of Adderall 10 mg are the same. The only difference is the mg's. If you feel concerned I would phone your MD and ask he/she what you should do. Or you can even speak with your pharmacist if you can't phone your MD. ## In regards to IR and XR: IR simply means Instant Release, and XR means Extended Release. 20 mg of Adderall XR is supposed to last throughout the day. The 10 mg of Adderall IR is to help instantly ...

There seem to be a number of sites that offer these types of coupons and many users on the forums here have declared their valid legitimacy. See: RX discount card Please post back if you have any more questions, I hope this helps! ## Has anyone had any luck with the "10-75%" discount card for adderall? I know that your savings amount depends on whether you get generic or brand name(you save less on generic), but what I'd really like to know is which pharmacy offers the best savings. In my regular prescription for Adderall XR, I opened a few of the capsules and found only white beads. (They've always been orange/white.) Also, they were much larger in comparison. My insurance only pays for the brand Adderall pills and does not support the generic. The doctor started me off with 20mg of XR daily. After a couple weeks, those didn't seem to work as well so she upped my dose to 30mg XR. I was looking at the 20mg and comparing what they looked liked to the 30mg. The 20mg had on them M.Salts or something like that the name Adderall wasn't listed anywhere. Both pills are oblong and orange; the 30mg says AdderallXR 30mg right on the pill. What disturbs me is that the name on the 20 mg pill is the generic name and if this is the case, I want my ridiculous co pay back. On the side of the pill bottle where it talks about what the pill should look like, it says orange, oblong, AdderallXR 20mg. Isn't this illegal? I called the pharmacy and he ope...

I appreciate your time, does anyone know where I'd be able to find a list of fillers used in Adderall xr 20mg? A few years ago I was diagnosed with a blood allergy to corn and wheat and a few months ago I started having reactions every day about the same time as my medication was releasing. I have checked everywhere to find a list and have found nothing. I know it can vary, but if there is something I can at least reference because it just started recently. Thanks so much! ## Yes, it may vary if you are taking a generic or a name brand. However, in the name brand Adderall XR, the inactive ingredients are: gelatin capsules, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, methacrylic acid copolymer, opadry beige, sugar spheres, talc, and triethyl citrate. I don't see anything in this list that scr...

I was diagnosed with adhd about 2 wks ago and perscribed generic adderall 20mg xr. I store my meds in a cubbard above the stove. Last fri I did a self clean on the oven I had never done it before didn't realize how hot it would get. All the meds in the cubbard were extremely hot. Before that the meds worked great I was focused my thoughts were more clear and I was motivated but since then the meds don't seem to be working at all. Could the extreme heat have messed the meds up? ## Hello, Lolo! How are you? It is doubtful that it would have caused them to degrade so fast that they would no longer be effective. It usually takes a lot of time to do that, not just a few hours or so. However, you do need to move your medications to a better location. That is not a good place to store ...

I have not opened it up but I have taken the brand-name reddish Adderall XR 20mg for quite awhile. This is probably a reverse placebo effect, but the blue one seem less strong oe less smoothe. Still, they work just fine. ## Hi Annie, The 20mg blue pill you're describing marked "R 3060" happens to be manufactured by Actavis Elizabeth LLC. So if your other pill was made by a different company, it's likely that they contained a different set of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers). From what I understand many of these substances are identified as toxins by our bodies, and can even have a significant impact on the drug's overall potency and effectiveness. And because this particular pill by Actavis is in generic form, the FDA allows it to contain up to 20% more or less...

Adderall xr 20 mg and M. Amphet Salts 20 mg. Are these the exact same medications? Are they both manufactured my Shire? Does Shire provide Teva/Barr with the generic version of Adderall xr under the name M. Amphet Salts 20mg? Thank you.... ## In order to tell you the manufacturer, you need to provide the markings or imprints on the capsules in question. I do, however, doubt this is the case, because TEVA manufacturer's their own generic medications. Both items that you described are the same medication, the only different you listed was one being controlled release, I do not know if the other one is controlled release or not, from what you provided. There are many companies that make generic medications. Can you please post back with the imprint? I will gladly check to see who makes...

I recently switched from adderall xr 30mg to adderall ir 20mg because of the price of the medication. Now im in space and unproductive, moody and sleepy. WHY??? ## The XR was a controlled release medication, the drug is released slowly over hours of time to keep a steady dose in your body. The IR is instant release, so all the medication is released at once and also processed out of your body much faster. Did you doctor approve this switch? ## are you taking the generic form of adderall IR ?.. because even though your doctor and pharmacist says its the same as brand.. trust me its not. i was prescribed strattera when i was first diagnosed with ADD/Depression and it pretty much seemed to magnify the problems i already had.. sleepy.. forgetful/foggy mind.. headaches.. moody .. so i was sw...

I am on adderall 20mg 4 times a,day for ADD and fatigue...adderall is generic and ir was curios if I ask shrink for an increase to 30mg 4 times a day or stick at 20 mg and add in ritalin 10mg xr 2 times a day sometimes I am falling asleep around 4pm and can't take an adderall or it will throw it all off in how many I have. ## Hello, Dave! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Have you tried the time released Adderall XR? It may work better for you than the regular release. The FDA classifies this medication as a stimulant, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight loss and anorexia. Most doctors won't let you mix more than one medication in the same class, so ...

Hi: I've been prescribed Adderall 20mg IR (generic amphetamine salts, 2x daily) and I found I was just dripping sweat in any type of heat or even at 40 deg after some exertion. My doctor switched me to dextroamphetamine (again, generic, 10 mg, 2x daily), and there is no improvement. The new drug is not as effective as the Adderall. My doctor is not that familiar with this class of drugs, but my pharmacist specialized in mental health drugs and suggested that an ER or XR version might work better. I've also read that some people do better on certain types of generics or the name brands. Has anyone found that: 1) an extended release version has physical side effects (i.e., sweating)? 2) a name brand, rather than generic, has been more effective at preventing side effects? 3) a dif...

Hello everybody. I have been taking generic Adderall (20mg XR) for about a month and had a generally good response. My doctor also wanted me to try the immediate release tablet because, sometimes, I prefer a short acting effect only in the morning. I filled my prescription at Boston Medical pharmacy. When I tried it the next day in the morning (half of a 20mg tablet) I started feeling unwell after about 40 minutes. There was no therapeutic effect at all (like the XR which was by a different maker), just nasty side effect like nausea, tremor, tingling, dizziness, a tight feeling in the chest and general malaise or weakness; symptoms I never had with the XR. It turns out the manufacturer is Ranbaxy (or Sun Pharma) who had/has quite a lot of trouble with the FDA in the past, but also recen...

i was just precribed this drug, my pill, capcile, is the peach color but the markings aren't what this site says it should have. my pills have ' M amphet salts' on the top half and '20mg' on the bottem half. tha discription here on this sight says it should have 'b/937' on one side and ' 2:20' on the other side. i start this tomarrow and would like to be sure they are the right pill. your input would be very much appreciated. thank you. ## The marking you read about is just one example of the generic for Adderall, which contains mixed amphetamine salts, there are many generics on the market and they all have different markings. Each manufacturer must use a different marking to identify their product. You have the same medication, it is just made by a ...

I can't tell if these are time released or not. Apparently they are generic adderall but I don't know if they are XR or instant release The pills are capsules orange in color I'd say they contain small little balls on the inside and say M. Amphet Salts 20mg ## Time released medications usually have something on them to denote that, such as the XR, CR or ER. And the listings I am finding for this do not list it as time released, either. What was marked on the prescription label? ## You have the XR version (extended release) of generic Adderall, made by Shire. The IR version (instant release) comes in a tablet form, not capsule. ## I also get the m. Amphet salts 20 mg orange capsules with the beads in them, I know this comment was posted a long time ago but if anyone could Hel...

elliptical peach tablet side 1: b/973 side 2: 20 ## Dextro/Amphet Info Click Here ## My friend has these pills and he has given them to me to help them study for finals. I have taken them a few times and have noticed they have similar effects to adderall. For the first 3-4 hours I have noticed basically the same feeling and mental focus that can be seen after taken adderall. However, this drug doesn't seem to be time-released like many adderall types. Personally, it usually only works well for the first 3-5 hours and then fades. ## Adderall is usually prescribed in the form of Adderall XR or extended release. Half of the dose is designed to dissolve immediately lasting for 4 hours, and the second half is absorbed 4 hours later. He has probably given you the generic form of Adderall ...
