I am 85 tears of age and I have been taking Lyrica for at least 10 years. I was immediately prescribed 75 mg as treatment for severe Neauropathic pain in my lower leg I also had bone pain mainly in the Tibias, I had this particular pain for 30 to 40 years. When I started on the treatment it was dramatic, the pain went almost overnight, it was as if a magic wand was waved. As the years passed I noticed the effects gradually lessened, so the dosage was increased. I suffer with loss of balance and when it first happened I was diagnosed with Benign Postural Vertigo and was treated for that. Now a few days ago my GP increased my Lyrica dose and balance has become worse. It started me thinking and I realised that my dizziness coincided with my first taking Lyrica. So tomorrow I will be attend...

Hi. I am scheduled for a surgery in 2 weeks, in which I'll be having general anesthesia. Does anybody know if the Contrave will interact with the meds they give you to put you out? I'm just getting started with this. I hate to quit, but safety first. Thanx for your replies. ## Hi Kathleen, If you have a moment, I would probably encourage you to give a quick call to the anesthesiologist and/or surgeon just to be safe. One other thing I wanted to mention is that according to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool) there are no interactions listed between Contrave and the anesthesia itself. However, alcohol appears to be an inert ingredient in one of the most commonly used intravenous anesthetic solutions known as Propofol. The bupropion in Contr...

Used to take Teva generic Klonopin. Teva has either been bought out by accord or Actavis. Accord is made in China and I have been on it for about 2 months. It does not work at all. I am twisting, convulsing, the pain is unbearable - I swear doctors do not read drug inserts or realize drug recalls. After the first month on Accord I called my doctor and I did not realize they had changed manufacturers. She called in Actavis 1mg and it helped immensely. Second month, went to pharmacist to get my generic Klonopin, told them to give me Actavis, not Accord. They gave me Accord. This stuff is worthless. I took it back to the pharmacist at CVS, told the pharmacist it was doo-doo and I wanted to Actavis. I told him Accord was made in China and they did not follow guidelines. He dismissed me and ...

my work involves travel & using urban public transportation; after walking mile or more I get general back pain AKA inflammation, but it goes away overnight; (must carry ~8 lbs of travel equipment) do not have back pain when not traveling or not doing a lot of walking; orthopaedist prescribed (1) Celebrex daily on travel days; any comments on what to expect, degree of relief, appreciated; ideally it would reduce ache/pain enough on travel walking days that I would not have to take frequent sitting breaks... feet also swell on some travel days due to edema, but Lasix resolves that... ## While I don't have any personal experience with Celebrex, I did come across a couple other discussion threads that may offer more insight on what to expect during treatment: Discuss/Celebrex_Watch...

I see a lot of posts of concerns of side effects of anti-depressant medications. Personally, I think all side effects suck and am thinking of getting off meds. I have OCD and have tried 4-5 SSRI/ SSRNIs over 20 years (one at a time). One med I took, Luvox, I didn't take for a week (I'm THAT lazy) and started being stuck in side effects. Very very bad anxiety and restless arms/legs that made me pace and go for walks to distract me. Couldn't sleep or sit still due to the feeling. Even cried. Went to emergency room a couple times for shakiness bothering me so bad. Tried lowering Luvox. Tried upping it. Couldn't get back to where symptoms went away. What I discovered through the Luvox experience is don't lower dose and gradually go back to dose you were supposed to be on...

I live in North Alabama and have been trying to find a local General Practitioner. I am running into the Dr.’s not accepting me when they find out I have a Pain Management Dr. I also have just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and it’s important I get in to a Dr. The Doctors all make you fill out an application to become a patient and they decide if they will accept you, even though they advertise in local papers they are accepting new Patients. I feel so alone and discriminated against. ## Dear blueyes, Feel terrible for you. Hope you find a GP soon. A gal battling cancer, and I'm sure other issues, should be at the top of the list. So you think because you've been in pain management, you are being discriminated against? I have been avoiding PM for years. For one th...

How safe are the following drugs if expired, and is their general efficacy compromised as well? Vistaril Xanax Flexiril Excedrin Migraine Tylenol with Codeine Ear drops ## Hello, Brad! How are you? In tablet form, none of the medications you've listed become dangerous, once expired, but yes, they do start to lose efficacy and you should dispose of them. The expired liquid ear drops, however, can go bad and could cause problems, if you used them, as listed by the FDA. Liquids are nowhere near as stable as other medication forms. Both Xanax and Codeine carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Which medications can definitely not be used after the expiry date? Thank yo...

I am unable to move my bowels from taking Exalgo and other opiods that I have taken for my chronic pain. I have tried taking drugs like Movantik and Amitiza that are supposed to relieve opiod constipation but they have not worked for me. Neither has more fiber, Colace, prunes, miralax etc. Anybody have any amazing remedy??? ## Very sorry about the problem you are having. I've been there, when taking opiates, but increased fiber intake helped me. Have you tried enemas, or suppositories? There are some available via prescription, and some over the counter products, since they are inserted anally, they work directly on the hardened stool. The FDA lists the typical side effects as including irritation, cramping, and diarrhea. Beyond that, you may need to go to the ER for treatment of th...

I have started Eliquis for the second time (gave up on first try after 4 days). I'm now on day 4 and continuing to feel the same strange symptoms: dizzy, spacey (mind-wise) and last night was wide awake because of them. I want to know if this gets better any time soon or should I bail and try another blood thinner? ## Chaz, I have been on Eliquis for six months . I was originally on warfarin but my electro physiologist wanted me on Eliquis because I am having the radio frequency heart ablation Dec. 3 . I am a little spacey at times but I thought it was due to my age. I am 65. Dr. Gave me a discount card for Eliquis which runs out at the end of December. If I cannot get another discount card, then this drug will cost out of pocket $400 even with my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. M...

Hey, I have been prescribed adderall for the last 10 years, but recently I was abruptly cut off. This was due to an illegal invasion of my privacy, and I have severe add/adhd. As a result, I'm about to lose my college investment. I also am in a methadone maintenance program, but I desperately need my add meds. back to regain my executive functioning skills. I have never abused my adderall and my records concur. Is there a recommended doctor in eastern Wisconsin that will prescribe adderall and xanax in conjunction with one another? In addition, they must be ok with prescribing to a patient already is in a methadone program, due to an opiate addiction. I have severe anxiety as well, and I was just about to graduate with a dual-degree from a prestigious university until I was abruptly...

The Massachusetts attorney general is targeting Purdue Pharma and eight members of the Sackler family who own the company, alleging in a lawsuit they are "personally responsible" for deceptively selling OxyContin. The attorney general, Maura Healey, sat down with CBS This Morning. She alleges the Sackler family hired "hundreds of workers to carry out their wishes" – pushing doctors to get "more patients on opioids, at higher doses, for longer, than ever before" all while paying "themselves billions of dollars." In her lawsuit, Healey names eight members of the family that own Purdue Pharma, alleging they "micromanaged" a "deceptive sales campaign." In the conclusion to the complaint, Healey said the Sackler family used the power at t...

one side says 4241 and the other side has a symbol that looks like a v ## Unfortunately, there are no listings in any of the drug databases for "V 4241". Are you sure you have read the imprint correctly? I only ask because there are multiple pills that share the same general imprint of a "V" with four other numbers on the other side; so if you're able to double check the marking and post back that would be great!
