Gemcal Side Effects

Is it ok to have gemcal daily? I've been taking it for the last 1yr. Is there any side effects? ## Gemcal is a nutritional supplement it contains: Calcitriol .25 mcg, Calcium Carbonate 500 mg and zinc 7.5 mg. Learn more dietary supplement information here. As to taking it daily, in theory there shouldn't be a problem, because all of these nutrients are very important to your health, as long as you don't take more than is recommended. My doctor has advised chymonac tabs. Alongwith D-Gain & Gemcal -DS for degenerative changes in LS spine. I have constipation problem after taking these med. Pl. Advise is it side effect of these med? I am 70 year old. ## Based on my research, 'constipation' is in fact listed as a side effect of Gemcal-DS (calcitriol). If however, its become too bothersome or severe, I would strongly recommend contacting your doctor as soon as possible to find a more appropriate solution. Have you considered supplementing with any laxatives or digestive enzymes to help breakdown food blockages in the intestines? can anyone clarify the difference between shelcal and gem cal? ## Some of the ingredients are different. Shelcal contains Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3. Gemcal contains:calcitriol 0.25 mcg, calcium carbonate 500 mg amd zinc 7.5 mg. So it is what they provide and their formulations, it depends on what your body needs and what your doctor recommends that you use. I am 50 having severe lower back pain problem dr has advised me to take Gemcal and Bone K2 alternatively and recently a muscle lump has been detected at the side of my lower abdomen due to which I have severe pain i cant sleep at night on my right hand side it pains a lot if I sleep on that side there fore dr has advised me to take enzoflam with which it will dissolve according to the Dr please advice me does taking enzoflam and calcium together has side effects.
