It is listed by the FDA as containing Betamethasone, Clotrimazole and Gentamicin, so it can be used to treat such conditions, but only if deemed appropriate by your doctor. If used improperly, the steroid in it, Betamethasone, could actually worsen some skin conditions. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including redness, skin irritation, rash, dryness and acne.

Can it be used on dogs hot spots? ## Will it hurt a dog if ingested ## Hi Denise, Personally I think it would be a good idea to contact a veterinarian before treating any animal with any medication - Regardless of whether it's a cream or pill for ingestion. The way their system reacts/responds to many types of drugs can be vastly different from what we perceive as normal, so it's better to be overly safe than take even a slight risk with our pets. Something else worth noting is that if the cream isn't used properly, one of its active ingredients (Betamethasone - a steroid) may make some skin conditions worse off.
