If you start experiencing signs of gastroparesis after starting Janumet, stop taking it! My doctors insisted the Janumet wasn’t responsible, but they were wrong. Gastroparesis has “resolved” since Janumet was discontinued. ## Janumet has been known to cause some gastric issues as side effects, such as bloating, heartburn, indigestion, and vomiting, which can also be symptoms of gastroparesis, according to FDA reports. Medline Plus Janumet/Diabetes medication combinations However, only your doctor can help you be sure that it was all caused by the Janumet. It is also very important that no one stop such a medication, without consulting their doctor, because letting their blood sugar go uncontrolled can be very dangerous. My father had surgery on his foot about a month ago. He is also a diabetic. He was prescribed the following tablets by a physician for healing of the foot: CILOSTAZOL, TRAMACET, CLEOCIN, OMEPRAZOLE, CIPROXINA, TRIHEMIC. However, he is vomitting daily and nothing seems to stay down. He is getting chest pains and is coughing intermittently as well. We can't seem to figure out the problem. The physician is saying it is Acid Reflux but it has to be more than this. I read where TRAMACET might cause Gastroparesis. Is this his problem?

My gastroparesis causes right sided pain that can get very severe? Doctors don't want to give pain mess because it slows things down. Well I can treat the constipation I don't want to live in pain. What do other gp patients do ## @docchrid, Have the doctors been able to determine what caused the gastroparesis to begin with? I've read that one risk factor is from having diabetes, and wonder if at any point you were diagnosed with that as well? In either case, perhaps the idea of supplementing daily with digestive enzymes/probiotics and eating more fresh raw fruits/vegetables could improve your intestinal motility enough to metabolize food more efficiently (i.e. less work for your stomach muscles). - And in that respect, a strict regimen involving this may also help counter an...

My son, has gastroparesis, and has been sooo ill, in the hospital ER , abt 14 times, since Jan.2012, losing abt 60 lbs. It has been a revolving door. It's 2 wks home, then 2 wks. hospital stay. He was told by a dr. he should be on Domperidone, instead of the Prednisone ( steroid) he is on now., but ( according to the dr.) HOW EXPENSIVE Domperidone is. My son was quoted $ 525.00 for a rx., a month, by a pharmacy in TX. I found out that Canadian pharmacies will sell it much, much cheaper, I guess a generic name,Motillium. So, I was wondering if anyone has used this drug, and what the results have been. ## You can learn more Domperidone details here. It hasn't been approved by the U.S. FDA, that's why it's so expensive to obtain a prescription here. It basically has to be im...

I have gastroparesis and have been on Linzess for a year and a half. It worked ok until recently. Now I'm not going at all. Can I drink water the 30 minutes before my first meal. Most of the time I don't eat much. ## Hello, Donna! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you're having. It works best taken on an empty stomach, with just a sip of water. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA may include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and stomach pain. At this point, it would be best to consult your doctor, many people have reported a similar issue. For some people it only works for a few weeks, but sometimes it works longer, but few are having long-term good luck with it Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Thanks for replying. It is now giving diarrhea and ...

I have Gastroparesis, pelvic floor dysnersia, and chronic ideopathic constipation. I had been taking 4 capfuls of miralax daily (which stopped working), amitiza (never worked) and now Linzess. The very first day it caused severe pain and I had pretty severe diarrhea. The next few days & nights I had severe abdominal pain, but now just cramping and lots of bloating. I have not had ANY movements at all since the diarhea on day 1. Is this normal? ## I hope your seeing a gastroenterologist and if so CALL the doctor. ## Hi GPcrusader, Sorry to hear about your situation. From what I've read on other related threads, the time it takes for Linzess to work actually varies greatly for each and every individual. However, I do agree with Amber in that it might be a good idea to touch base w...

I have to say, emend plus zofran was the best anti nausea and barfing control that I’ve ever had! I was so happy! But, it’s $20 for 3 pills!! I can’t afford this because of all my other meds as well. Thank you so much! Wendy ## it is used to treat severe forms of nausea, so yes, it can be taken by people who do not have cancer. I'm gonna stop this for a week and see what happens. It can also cause excess gas to from, which may also contribute to feeling bloated. I'm thinking perhaps either of these side effects could be the culprit, ...

After a year of severe nausea, bloating and GI discomfort, I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying.) My GE wanted to put me on Metaclopromide (Reglan), but I deferred because of the warnings of tardive dyskinesia and other nervous system problems. I did my research and found that Itopride was just as effective for motility without the nervous system or heart-rhythm problems found in Reglan and Domperidone, and I got him to prescribe it after signing a form acknowledging it was not approved in the USA by the FDA. I procured it from Asia through a Canadian pharmacy. I want to take it consistently for at least 3-4 weeks to see if it stimulates my gastric motility, but I'm experiencing some psychotropic side-effects that are hard to tolerate.
