My mom is suffering with blood sugar since 2 year she is taking aurvedic medicine but nothing happen. Today I checked the result FBS=153 and pp=293. Galvus Met 50/500, I am taking before breakfast as prescribed by a physician since one year but One cardiologist suggests to have it after breakfast. My questions is when it should be taken before breakfast or after breakfast ? ## Normally, these types of medications are taken just before a meal, that way they have a chance to start working by the time you are actually digesting the meal and you would experience the greatest blood sugar elevations. I have Diabetes 2. I am also an epileptic and take Tegrotol CR 400 mg three times a day as well as Sedabarb 30 mg three times a day. I have been on Tegrotol and the equavalent of sedabarb since 1969. Dosages have just changed as needed. I am now also on Galvus Met 50/1000 for plus minus 3 years. The side effects I am now showing is: The shin, in the fold of my leg, my whole back and arms are itchy. On my back I have small sores as I am scratching. The itching is rediculous. My ankles and feet are puffy and uncomfortable. Diabetic since 2002. Below is the medicine I started using from Jan 2009 to date. My sugar levels are under control even though I'm not following proper diet and exercise. 1. Galvas 50/800 - Afternoon 2. Trivolib 1mg - morning and night 3. Polytrova Kit 2.5mg - night Recently I experienced skin itching and neglected it because of the winter season. But after going through the side effects of the medicine I found that this is a one of the side effects. Now I also had the following symptoms: 1. knee pain 2. itching 3. Gas 4. B12 deficiancy along with Vitamin D and Iron. I am supposed to meet my Doctor for advice. However please let us know your suggestion as well.
