My mother is experiencing pain in the upper abdomen from the center to the right side. A recent ultrasound indicated gall bladder stone (0.9 cm) CHOLELIHIASIS. Historically she has been treated for CA ovarian and completed her last cycle of chemo in august 2013. We recently saw her oncologist after the ultrasound and he prescribed meftal spas and razo D in the mean time. I wanted to ask if we can safely give her voveran 50 mg for instant pain relief. After one tablet of amox-clav 875 mg, I developed shakiness, rapid heartbeat, extreme flushing of my face, and general feeling of fainting. Went to ER and after some treatment, was released. Following days, experienced extreme pain in upper abdomen area. After two more trips to ER, was admitted and underwent battery of test showing gall bladder was shot. Had surgery to remove. Could this have been caused by the amox-clav? ## It's highly unlikely that just one dosage would cause such severe damage to your gallbladder. Learn more Augmentin details here. I have multiple gallstones and suffered from a gall bladder attack almost 3 years ago. I have been avoiding getting my gall bladder out. I have been taking Ursodiol for almost 3 years and have not had a gall bladder attack. I just had a scan done on my gall bladder and it is unchanged from 3 years ago and my Dr. reccommends taking it out. While the scan was being done on my gallbladder they also scanned my liver which showed fatty infiltration. My good cholestral was high, but my blood work was normal. What have people done who need surgery (probably open surgery for gall bladder) and taking Pradaxa. I have fears about having a stroke if I stop taking it and I know that I will have to take it. Thoughts please? ## In most cases, they have you stop it for a few days, before surgery, then resume taking it, once any risk of bleeding has passed, but you should follow your doctor's instructions on what to do, according to the NIH. Gall bladder surgery is rarely fully open, now, it usually just requires a small incision to insert a microscopic instrument. The amount of bleeding and healing time is usually very minimal. Have you been provided any pre-op instructions, yet? ## No, don't know for sure if I will need it (feeling better). I have a large wide-month hernia in my abdomen (tha...
