It's a prescription from my gyn dr.. my insurance doesn't cover this drug since it is a compounded medication and experimental cream. for my condition I would like to get cost effective pricing. I am paying 40.00 dollars. can this medication be sent to me by mail. ## Hello, Candy! How are you? This website does not manufacture, compound, nor ship any mediations or products. It is an information only resource. That said, getting it a local compounding pharmacy is usually your only option. You may want to look and see how many are in your area, so you can compare prices. I started taking Gabapentin and about 8 days later I broke out in red sores and pimples on my entire back and shoulders. I wondered if anyone has reported such a reaction to this drug. I am now experiencing my throat swollen, red, and scratchy with white pockets. I did stop taking the medication and the skin is slowly clearing but the throat is still bad. Please offer some education back gound on similar concerns to date. Thanks J ## It really doesn't sound like something that was caused by the Gabapentin, especially what you're describing about your throat, that sounds more like a strep infection and the same could be true of the sores and pimples you had on your back, since it can also infect the skin topically. My eldery lady has back pain all the time, she is confined to her recliner and she doesn't walk. Will this combination of diclofenac, gabapentin & lidocaine help alleviate her back pain? It originally was presribed for pain in her feet. ## Hi Patti, As a topical pain-relieving cream, it may help. However, one cannot distinctly say that it will or will not without trying it first. - Diclofenac is a NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) marketed for use in treating mild to moderate pain/inflammation. - Gabapentin is marketed for use in treating nerve pain (as well as certain types of seizures). - Lidocaine is a sodium channel blocker marketed for use in relieving pain and numbing tissue (skin). To what extent these ingredients will help her pain is anyone's guess... How...

I am researching this cream for a client with the following ingredients: Diclofenac 1.5% Gabapentin 2.5% Lidocaine 2.337% Prolocaine 2.337% Does anyone have additional information on it? ## Hello, Don! How are you? This cream is actually something that is specially ordered by a patient's doctor, and it must be created by a compounding pharmacy. There really is no standard list of ingredients, it can vary from doctor to doctor, according to what they think will work best for their patient. This combination is usually used for topical, or muscular pain relief, and the FDA lists the side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, flaking, and headache. To explain it more for you, Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that is also u...

Hi. I have had my C6 and C7 replaced in my neck and I am under pain management and I wanted to know about this medicine called "849 gab bac cyc ib lid cr". I hope you're well on your way to full recovery from the neck surgery. - Gab stands for Gabapentin - Bac stands for Baclofen - Cyc stands for Cyclobenzaprine - Ib stands for Ibuprofen - Lid stands for Lidocaine - Cr typically stands for Cream (or being topical) Gabapentin is often prescribed for nerve pain. Baclofen and Cyclobenzaprine are both muscle relaxers. Ibuprofen is used for mild pain relief. And Lidocaine is also numbing and offers some degree of pain relief. Depending on how...

I am waiting to pick up this topical compound of Keta-Clon-Gaba prescribed today for chronic nerve/muscle spasms. What exactly are the drug names of each of the compounds? I need to be sure what goes in the bloodstream, being recently diagnosed with stage 3b kidney disease. Thanks. ## Ketaprofen, (a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory), Clonazepam (a benzodiazepine) and Gabapentin (an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat certain types of nerve pain.) In most cases, you will not absorb enough to have any significant effect on your kidneys, or other internal organs, but it never hurts to double check to be safe. The FDA lists the typical side effects of topical use as possibly including skin redness, flaking, and irritation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your qu...

I'm curious as to what exactly this cream is used for and the side effects of use? ## This looks like a compounded cream, each word being an abbreviation for the full ingredient. I am assuming that each one corresponds to the following (though I can't guarantee that I am 100% accurate): CARB = Carbamazepine, anticonvulsant used in treating neuropathic pain CYCL = Cyclobenzaprine, a muscle relaxer DICL = Diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID) GABA = Gabapentin, anticonvulsant used in treating neuropathic pain LIDO = Lidocaine, a local anesthetic PRIL= Prilocaine, a local anesthetic So it seems that this is a pain relieving cream, and a strong one at that. I would recommend checking each drug for its possible side effects. May I ask where you got it from? Was it com...

I HAVE NEUROPATHY. I HAVE SEVER BURNING IN MT FEET AND SOMETIMES HANDS, I HAVE THE TINGLING ALSO IN BOTH. MY DOCTOR HAS ME ON GABA 600MGS 3 TIMES A DAY BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE HLPING WITH THE BURNING. COULD YOU PLEASR TELL ME IF THIS WOULD WORK. ## Hello, Terri! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. Has your doctor prescribed this? It is just various medications compounded into a cream to be used topically, but most of them have not ever been proven to be effective topically. And since you are already taking oral Gabapentin, you would need to check with your doctor before using this, since it also contains it. How long have you been taking it? It is not an actual analgesic, so it will take 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your bo...

My doctor prescribed a cream for my back. What is in it and what does each ingredient do? Dic 3% Bac 2% Cyc 2% Gab 10% Bup 5% Pen 5% ## Hello, 4dabirds! How are you? Diclo stand for 3% Diclofenac, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory used to relieve pain and swelling. Bac is 2% Baclofen, which is a muscle relaxant. Cyc is 2% Cyclobenzaprine, which is another muscle relaxant. Gab stands for 10% Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that's also used to treat certain types of nerve pain. Pen is 5% Penicillin, which is an antibiotic used to treat or prevent topical infections in such a mixture. I am not completely sure on the Bup, but it might be 5% Buprenorphine, which is a narcotic analgesic. The most common side effects are skin reddening and application site irritation. Is there ...

What is "LI 2.5%/PR 2.5%/CY 0.1%/GA 6%/AR"? I found it in my mother's medicine cabinet and she doesn't remember what it's for. ## These are specialized ointments ordered by a doctor and filled by a compounding pharmacy, but going by what I've learned, my best guess from what you've listed is that it contains Lidocaine (which is as topical anesthetic), Pregabalin (which is used to treat nerve pain), Cyclobenzaprine (which is a muscle relaxant), and Gabapentin (which is also used to treat nerve pain.) However, you can always contact the pharmacy to be sure. They should be able to tell you the precise ingredients, in case I'm wrong, as well as why it was prescribed. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, drynes...

5f-diclo3/gaba6/lido2prilo2% ## Hello, I am a little confused about what medications you are describing, so I will try to offer as much accurate information as possible. In regards to the title of your post, are you referring to Diclofenac topical 3% and Gabapentin topical 6%? If so, my research tells me that Diclofenac 3% topical gel is used to treat actinic keratosis (flat, scaly growths on the skin caused by too much sun exposure). Tell your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects, or if they become severe: -redness, itching, peeling or dry skin, irritation, swelling, or rash at the area where you applied the medication -pain, burning, numbness, or tingling of the treated skin -muscle, joint, or back pain -headache Some side effects may be serious. Does anyone know what this is used for? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, dryness, and flaking. I have nerve pain from shingles, what is the best compounded topical cream too use. ## Hello, Roger! How are you? I really can't say, compounded creams require a prescription from your doctor and are prescribed according to what they know works best according to their experience with other patients. Thus, there is no set ingredient list. It can vary from doctor to doctor. However, many people with this issue benefit from something that specifically treats nerve pain, such as Gabapentin, either topically or orally. It is an anticonvulsant that also treats some forms of nerve pain and mood disorders. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, to the oral form may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, mood swings, dry mouth and weight gain. What has your doctor advised you to use? ##...

What are the medications used for trigeminal neuralgia? which is the most effective? which is the safest? which is the most dangerous? What are the maximum dosages? ## The anti-seizure drugs gabapentin and carbamazepine are most commonly prescribed. They can be effective, but they also have a sedating, dulling effect, and less commonly more serious side effects. Some people have found topical ketamine to be effective; in low, topical doses it is probably fairly safe, but topical ketamine has not been in clinical trials. There are some anecdotal reports of the skin product Gallixa being highly effective with no side effects. ## Safety and efficacy are actually purely relative, since not every medication affects every person that takes it in the same way. What works for one person may not...

Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with pain, both Baclofen and Cyclobenzaprine are muscle relaxants and Lidocaine is a topical anesthetic.
