Please i need to know for sure if gabapentin is a narcotic? I take them every day. I was prescribed them. I was told that they are and i wanna know for certain as im not wanting to take them no more. ## No they are not a narcotic. Is it safe to take Lortab 10mg 6 to 8 hours apart from gabapentin? I have chronic pain in my legs, back and hips and I also have ressless legs. Hi I recently went to dr. to refill my gabapentine prescrip and he said I was on it too long. I was taking 600 mg bid and I have been off now since Tuesday. I was on it for fibromyalgia. It actually worked. I am going thru some major withdrawls and want to know if it is possible to get it without prescrip. I cant take it anymore ## I'm sorry to hear your Dr is being a ****! I was given gabapentin after a spinal injury that resulted in severe radiating pain down my legs. Thanks to a great physical therapist, and a lot of hard work, things are better now. Not perfect. But a lot better. I took the gabapentin for two days. The first day I felt fine (all things considered)... but the gabapentin didn't seem to have any real side effects. The second day, I honestly felt like I was on narcotics or something. I could barely move off the couch and, though I have never used heroin, I am very, very familiar with prescription opioids. I have never been that impaired in my life. It honestly scared me. No one else I know who has ever taken this medication has ever experienced anything like this. Lortab contains Acetaminophen coupled with the narcotic Hydrocodone. 6 months ago my psychiatrist prescribed 600mg of Gabapentin, to be taken at bedtime, for bipolar disorder, nerve pain and sleep disruption. For months I have been dizzy, lethargic and unable to focus. Since Gabapentin has a half-life of 5-7 hours, could it be that the single daily dose has me in a constant state of withdrawal? I had to miss 3 appointments with my shrink because of back problems and managed to fall through a bureaucratic Medicare crack - the hospital I was seeing him through will no longer accept me as a patient so I am out of luck re asking for help with this medication. Have 3 bulging discs in neck and the others are moderate bulging. Can't get appointment to see Neuroligist until next week. MRI was from 10 days ago. Narcotics do not help with my pain. Doese percocet have the number g on one end and 5027 on the other end. And on another pill in the same bottle it has IP102 is these the same pills ## They are the same medication, but neither are Percocet or any other narcotic.
