Gabapentin And Oxycodone

Hi. I am a 58yo female with a 6 yr old back injury, was diagnosed and have had surgery/treatment for breast cancer - all clear. Menopausal flushes have returned with an absolute whack. At the moment I take 10mg of Endone before getting out of bed. Last night I started Gabapentin 300mg. I work 10hr days, with Tuesdays off so okay to take Gabapentin this morning as no driving/concentration at work not an issue. Does anyone else take this combination of meds? Just wondering if one offsets the other etc. Tnx for any input.

I took a Robaxin, Gabapentin and an Oxycodone together and I just wanted to know if that was safe? ## According to FDA warnings, taking all 3 of them together could cause increased depression of the central nervous system, which could result in increased insomnia, dizziness, and drowsiness. Taking too much could result in coma, and possible death. How are you feeling? Did you experience any problems?

I have a really bad memory these past 5yrs. I've been taking gabapentin the past 7yrs, I also take oxycodone, oxymorphone, mobic and stopped taking valium and a muscle relaxer about a year ago. I don't consume cannabis anymore. It's been about 15 yrs since I have. But when I did smoke back in the day I smoked a lot for a good 10yrs. I've noticed lately that I cant remember anything. When someone introduces themselves I just totally forget 2 mins later. I have tried the trick where you say the person's name over 5x's or use it in a sentence to help remember. But to no avail. Even at work, I'm told 3 things to do, I only remember 2 of them, or when it's time to do a task at work I just totally forget. It's affecting my job and making me look very stupid...

I started on Gabapentin 6 days ago and I feel great. I have a new pm doc and he added this med to the other pain meds that I've been on for 6 years. Regained feeling in both feet that have nerve damage, and along with ms contin 30 my bid and 15 mg x 4 of oxycodone, my back and knees are not as painful as they usually are. I have 10 percent of my lower spine remaining from degeneration and both knees are bone on bone. Not only is the pain tolerable but my mental health seems to have improved drastically. I've read mostly horror stories about gabapentin, but I'm wondering if anyone else has a positive opinion about it. what is the long term effect on your liver and other organs? I have had C-3 C-4 fusion 1986. L-4 L-5 fusion 2011. I have had shoulder surgery in 05.I'am taken oxycodone 7.5/500mg 3xa day and dilaudid 4mg 4 x a day and gabapentin 600mg 4x a day. He tells me that on a long term that oxycodon with out the tylenol in it will effect my liver. so why did he give me something with 500mg of Tylenol in it? just don't under stand. LOST ## I am not sure I understand why he would do that, either. The Acetaminophen is far more dangerous to your liver than the Oxycodone by itself. Learn more Percocet details here. I've been taking oxycodone 10 mg for the last five months. Today is my first day without. How long will it take to get it out of my body. ## It takes about a week for the withdrawals to go away. If you have gabapentin, double up on that, it will take away nearly all of your withdrawals away. ## @Debbie (thread starter), According to nih.gov, Oxycodone's elimination half life ranges from 3-4 hours in its immediate release form. Given this information, you can do some math to get a general idea of how long it might take to be completely excreted. I've been taking one gabapentin 300 mg three times per day starting six days ago for severe spinal stenosis. It's been a miracle drug for me in terms of pain relief and makes oxycodone seem like a placebo. Unfortunately, starting two days ago I started to experience pronounced swelling in my legs and feet. I'm already taking 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressure and I thought that would prevent any swelling but it hasn't. If I can deal with the swelling and being uncomfortable from it do I still have to go off the gabapentin? Are there any medical reasons I can't accept the swelling in order to have the benefits of the gabapentin? why did 1.0 fentanyl and oxymorphone show u in my urine n im on 15 mgs of methadone and 30mg 6x day how can this be? im on gabapentin and Xanax also oxybutrin ## Not suggesting anything but it is typical for H to be cut with F for increased intensity. It is actually wanted by the users from what I have heard. Please be careful everyone. There has been growing numbers of OD including an epidemic not too long ago where more then 3 died from the cutting of F (too much) with hours in the same hotel.

i am taking tramadol right now and it is not working enough... can i take oxycodone for the same pain? ## Hi Amber, Based on the personal reviews of others, I'd imagine oxycodone to be considerably stronger than tramadol. There have been a number of patients on here complaining that tramadol doesn't do anything for them and even go so far as wondering why it's even classified as a pain killer. I don't know if that's an overstatement since everyone reacts differently to it, but if you have a prescription for oxycodone, it should be a much more potent alternative. Hi. I suffered a L1/L2 complete SCI injury some 4 years ago. After 6-7 weeks when the spinal shock wore off I noticed I had a burning pain in my lower groin area even though I can't really feel much below my hips, we thought maybe it was a UTI but all showed negative. It was diagnosed as chronic nerve pain and it never goes away, I get acute nerve pains in my legs on top of this chronic pain. I have been taking 10mg Oxycodone four to five times per day and methadone 10mg once a day for the chronic pain + 800mg Gabapentin three times a day for the burning in my legs. I've taken gabapentin,norco, and then oxycodone. I was taken off the oxycodone recently because I was talking the max six pills a day and my pain was still unbearable. I have five bulging disc and a pinched nerve in my back. I have spinal stenosis. This has caused pain throughout my left side down to my feet. I'm also a diabetic with nerve damage. I take 900mg Gralise, 25mg Nortriptyline, 300mg Tramadol ER, 20mg oxycodone. I've taken all of this for six years. I have cried and complained about weight gain as soon as I started all of these drugs but my Dr. Keeps saying they don't cause weight gain! I am having a second back surgery. The first time I was prescribed 10 mg Oxycodone Immediate REL Tabs every 4 hours. This time I am prescribed MS Contin 30 mg every 12 hours plus my regular medication of Norco 10-325 every 6 hours. Which is stronger the Oxycodone without the Norco or the MS Contin with Norco for surgical back pain relief. I regularly take on a daily basis Norco 10-325 every six hours prn, Metaxalone 800 mg 3x per day and Gabapentin 800 mg 3x per day. I will continue my regular prescriptions. How can I find a VA doctor to prescribe oxycontin? I have chronic pain. This drug helps to relieve it, and it doesn't make me loopy. However, because there are those who abuse it, I have not been able to find a VA doctor who will prescribe it. ## I know a few veterans that go to the VA for all there primary care doctors but go to a pain management clinic because the VA is very strict on giving narcotics. They do have a pain management program at the VA but they will start you drugs like tramdol, baclofen and gabapentin and I doubt you will ever get oxycontin. I take Percocet 3x a day for Chronic pain from my neck down. The Percocet does not last the 8 hours like the bottle say. Just wondering if i could take a 1 pill of Equate with Acetaminophen 500mg with one Percocet. or one Tylenol with Acetaminophen 325mg with 1 Percocet. Would this be safe !!!! Does Voltaren contain gabapentin? My bottle says 50 Gm NP Gel. It says under it Diclofenac NA+Dextromethorphan+Gabapentin+Amitriptylyne+Nifedipine: 4 percent. I have been taking Norgesic for 18 months with 40mg of OxyContin 2 times daily & Lyrica 150mg as well as antidepressants, blood pressure medication of 80mg, as well as cholesterol tablets, plus 5mg of Endone (OxyContin). I have had two surgeries on my knee. The last surgery had left me with nerve pain in my knee that runs up and down my leg. I have gone to too many doctors to count and have tried everything they have prescribed for me (from stretching to acupuncture to taking Gabapentin and thing like it) but nothing helps except 10mg oxycodone. The pain is horrible and sometimes the pain will last for weeks. I can't concentrate in school or even sleep. The only thing that has helped is the oxycodone but I'm 24 years old and no doctor want to prescribe it to me because they think I'm to young.
