Hello all. I'll try to make this as short as possible. I have chronic lower back and hip pain. I have had it all my life, but last year I had major surgery on my spine and my hips. This surgery increased the pain. Before the surgery, my pain was constant and at a 5-6. Now my pain is at 7-8, CONSTANTLY. Therefor, I am on Oxy. I started out on hydrocodone, used that for roughly 2 years and 9 months ago was switched to oxy. I am given enough for 5 pills a day, (5mg). Yes, I am addicted. Yes, I have abused oxy and hydro. With all of this information, my question is: How can I function as normally as possible on this drug? I have some serious chronic pain that oxy actually helps, but I find it hard to function. I am suffering from tinnitus & the doctor prescribed Duxil for a complete month. Having it for more than 20 days, I don't see any improvement, moreover I have trouble getting up in the morning. Feel tired & lazy. ## Duxil contains the active ingredients Almitrine and Raubasine, it is used to enhance respiration, to treat age related cerebral disorders and for other conditions like vertigo. To be honest, since this isn't used in the U.S. the information we have available on it is very limited. However, since it does work on any conditions that affect cerebral function, it would seem the the drowsiness is probably a normal side effect. I just recently went on 10mg and I have gone through all the same symptoms I'm seeing on here. Very tired, vomitting, weight gain, headaches etc. I have also noticed that my memory is horrible, my thought process is slower, I'm typing slower at work, mispronouncing words I never have issues with, loosing track of my thoughts, and not remembering anything about troubleshooting at my job. I took Contrave for a few months and stopped a month ago because my hair started falling out. This had a blood test and results indicate liver disfunction (all enzymes measured are raised, my ALT the highest, about three times higher than normal range). My Dr is worried about cirrhosis/tissue death. I have a fibroscan and ultrasound tomorrow and have had anothed set of bloods taken - will have more answers this week. I had my kidney function tested in February and it was 85. I then started taking Ramipril & by November it had dropped to 69.
