I know this is going to sound a little weird but has anybody noticed with Oxycodone 10mg that your bowel movements are much easier? I have always had constipation when taking my medication and suddenly this month I have had absolutely no issues which is really weird. Another thing I've noticed is my anxiety is really high... Has anyone else noticed going to the Bathroom been easier ? Sorry for the nasty question. ## Are you taking the regular release formulation? Some generic manufacturers use different excipients, which could cause this to occur, since the normal side effect is constipation, according to FDA reports. They also warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and headache. As to the anxiety...

Anyone hearing about oxycodone and dilaudid's formula being changed? ## Hello, Maty! How are you? The formulation for Oxycontin was changed a few years ago, to help prevent its abuse and there has been talk about making the others more abuse proof, as well. However, I don't have any precise information on when it will be done, or even if this is still in the works. Does anyone else know more? The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I got my 8 milligrams a lot of filled yesterday and since last month I had not this month I have not got the rush feeling like I normally get and I was wondering if anybody if they have chang...

This month I have been getting the pain relief from my Oxycontin as before. I am now informed that they hanged the formula from OC to OP and that the OP do not contain Narcan. What am I supposed to do when I am no longer getting the relief I had before. I don't want to have to go to the higher dose just to get the same relief. I had to fight the insurance company for what I was getting before. ## That is correct, the new Oxycontin OP does not contain Narcan, however, if someone tries to misuse the medication, it does turn into a gummy substance that retains its time released properties. This formulation change has resulted in many complaints that it does not work as well as the old formulation and causes off side effects. We have had many posts regarding this, for the past several m...

I am a vet from the war that has no end in sight, I am not special just a soldier like many of you out there. I was shot in the right shoulder and it came out my chest. I was very lucky. Anyway I have been on 40 mg x two a day of oxycontin for 3 years well it was working fine and controlling my pain. Now I am taking the same meds but on the pill it says op not oc. It is almost like I am not on any pain meds at all. I don't think my dr. Has a clue about the change in the formula. He wants to give me more op. but I must have become immune to the meds and I want to know if any one has had any success with a drug called daliade I know that is not the proper spilling but I was hoping some one out there has experience with this type of pain relief med. Have they changed? They were once yellow but heard genres are bluish & stronger than real ones? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? I am so sorry for your loss, that's so tragic. The tablet with the K 57 marking is manufactured by KVK Tech and they list them as containing only 20mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzin...

i need to change medicine from oxycodone way too expensive to something as effective but not as expensive ## There are Morphine equivalents to all the formulations of Oxycodone, the time released, regular release and the instant release. They are all available as generics, so you could ask your doctor about them. I remember when I was on pain management and had a time period where we were switching from on insurance to the other, so there was a break where I had no coverage, the Morphine was less than half what the Oxycodone cost, though it is still not cheap. Are there any questions or comments?

Thanks for any hep ## I am not sure what it is supposed to stand for, but Oxycontin OP is the new product from Purdue and is replacing the original product. It has been specially formulated to help prevent abuse of the medication. So no, you were not duped. They have discontinued the original and your pharmacy has no choice but to provide you with the new product. It is claimed to work the same as the original, however, there have been many complaints that is it no...

I keep searching and STILL don¨t have a straight answer. I am currently on 30mg, 3 times a day of OXYCODONE (legally prescribed) for horrific back pain..... ¿WHAT is the difference between the 2, if any, besides the NAME? oxycodone AND oxycontin........ PLEASE help me out! thanks! thanks!! ## Its the same drug - Oxycodone. One is time released (Oxycontin) and one is immediate release (oxycodone). If they changed your meds from Oxycodone 30mg 3xper day (total of 90mg a day) to Ocycontin it would be probably be 40mg 2x a day with breakthrough meds. ## Pita's comment is basically true. Though OxyContin is technically oxycodone hydrochloride - a slightly different formula, but yes -- essentially the same drug. The major difference is the time-released delivery of OxyContin as ...

I was researching info on this site in order to have my doctor switch my meds when I see her tomorrow - Wed. I ran across a link that was to a site that would calculate the dosage needed to replace one drug with another. Does anyone have this info and any other info on changing my oxycontin and oxycodone tomorrow. This doctor is a real b...tch and has not increased my meds ever in over two years, so I need to be able to know what she is doing when I ask her to change the meds. The oxycontin does not help so much anymore and the side effects concern me alot. I developed long qt syndrome from 2yrs on methadone so I am real nervous about this new formulation of oxycontin anyway. So needless to say I cant take methadone and morphine makes me ill and fentynal did not work for me but that was...

How are you? I'm sorry that your pharmacy didn't inform you of the change. This tablet is manufactured by Alvogen, Inc. and they list it as containing 30mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation. I am not a big fan of the formula change but find the op oxycontin to still work on my chronic pain. The main thing I notice is Ill get only 8 hours of relief where the older formula had lasted longer and stronger. This new formula also takes 45 minutes to get going even on empty stomach. but it does work on the pain once it kicks in. im waiting now as i just took my oxycontin about 14 minutes ago and beginning to lose my vision(thats the first sign for me is i get tunnel vision and itching) but just saying, i was on oc formula 12 years and been on this formula 2 months so i dont like it alot but as im getting used to the pills and how they work best, etc, ive learned to still prefer oxycodone over dilaudid for my pain...period. dilaudid is weird, it takes a while to come on and makes me...

what is the eqivalent dosage of morphine vs oxycodone? I currently take 40mgs of oxycodone, and would like to change to MS IR, what amount of MS IR is equal to 40mgs of Oxycodone? ## Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so an equivalent dosage would be 60mgs. However, you do need to make sure you taking the same formulation, since both Oxycodone and Morphine come in regular, instant and time released formulations. Thus, if you're taking the regular release formulation of Oxycodone, then you would need a regular release formulation, in that dosage, of the Morphine. The only 40mg Oxycodone available is the extended release, Oxycontin. Due to the dangers of overdose, from getting too much medication, at once, it is highly unlikely that your doctor is going to give ...

I have a petition against Actavis Pharmaceutical for distributing bad Oxycodone. I called Actavis on the phone and they claim that the formula is the same. I was told by a reliable source that the formula has changed along with more fillers and binder included. Please let me know if you want to find my petition on Change.org. The heading will read ACTAVIS pharmaceuticals: STOP SELLING OXYCODONE AS A PLACEBO PILL TO CHRONIC PAIN SUFFERERS! Stop lining the pockets of Actavis Pharmaceutical! i received a em saying that the liquid oxycotion is the same before the op pills ## Yes, we have no information on the liquid formulations of Oxycodone being changed in any manner, it would be very difficult to try to do so, since time released mechanisms can't really be used with them. What pill is this, I have been prescribed percocet in the past but never had this number imprinted. Can you tell me if the formulary might have changed? ## This tablet is manufactured by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Since this is a generic medication, it is manufactured by several different companies, which creates market competition to help keep prices down. Which one your pharmacy may carry, at any given time, depends on what company was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.
