I took Oxycodone after shoulder surgery for about 3 and 1/2 days. Besides feeling nauseous my face got quite flushed. I stopped taking it & have been off it for almost 4 days. My face is still flushed & skin is quite dry. Should I be concerned & what can I do for my face besides using facial cream to hydrate yet doesn't seem to be working? ## My friend I think you're just dehydrated, I had the same thing happen to me when I started on pain meds. They notoriously dry you up, I would recommend you to get a few bottles of Pedialyte, drink a couple in one day then sip one over the next few days. I think you'll find that it will help a great deal. Also if you've been having issues going to the restroom thats a fairly sure sign you may be a bit dehydrated. Take car...

I'm on day 3 of a 6 day prescription of Methylpredisolone prescribed for acute bronchitis. My face is extremely flushed and I think it's the med. Is there any danger in stopping before any other symptoms should occur? I'm not interested in subscribing to the health newsletter but hope you will still address my issue. Thank you ## That can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to the FDA and yes, it could be dangerous to stop it, rather than tapering it, as prescribed. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nausea, mood swings, and nervousness. They are usually harmless and should go away a few days after you finish your course of treatment. Are you on any other medications?

I have been on Phentermine for a couple years and have noticed after eating my face gets hot and flushed. I have been tested for lupus along with other autoimmune diseases. The only one that came back a little high was rheumatoid arthritis. I stopped taking it and everything seemed to go back to normal. I had stopped for a month and a half. I started again and within 3 days my face was back to getting flushed and hot after meals. I could eat something as simple as a salad and it would happen. Anyone else have this happen? ## Yes, Flushing has been found in women that take Phentermine. Ref: Phentermine Flushing Study Other side effects may include nausea, chest pain, itching, and back pain. Have you consulted your doctor? It would be a good idea to do so, in order for them to check for o...

After having my ear flushed and examined to make sure its clean, doctor found out i had otitis externa and perscribed me 4 drops at time 4 times a day for 5 days to clear infection of "neomycin-polymyxin b sulfates-hydrocortisone orphlamic suspension, usb" ear drops. well right away when he gave me the first dose, i noticed my ear start to close, and then when it fully rested as far as it could down in my ear, i noticed the clogging wasnt going to go away. now i am sitting here almost 6 hours later and its still completely clogged and hasnt improved at all ## They are a liquid that basically has to fill the ear to reach that outer portion and treat the infection. Regarding the pill that was asked about, in case anyone else is curious as to what it contains, it is an over the counter product, the manufacturer McNeil lists it as being Pepcid AC, which is used to treat, or prevent heartburn, ulcers, gastritis, and GERD. NDC Code: 16837-0855. It is a 20mg tablet. Is there anything I can help with?

I found black capcels of my husbands when I opened it there was black powder inside I flushed powder down toilet and it became like a long piece of black string ## Hi mandie, Due to the nature of the capsule, I don't believe you have a prescription medication. In the U.S., all prescription medications are required to have an imprint for identification purposes. Unless your husband takes medication that you don't know of, this capsule is likely to be one of the following: diet, energy, herbal, vitamin. Otherwise it could be illicit or foreign. I recommend that you share your concerns with your husband and ask him if he knows anything about the capsules. Do you have any more questions?

Hi there! I am on my second week of low-dose isotretinoin. My skin flushed mostly around my nose and I can feel my pulse in the areas. Is this normal and does anyone have any idea why this happens? Thanks ## Yes, it has been known to cause these types of sensations as side effects, according to FDA reports, along with skin scaling, peeling, easy bruising, and sweating. Ref: Medline Plus Isotretinoin It's kind of hard to say why any particular side effect happens, it just has to do with the affect that a medication has on the body when working to do its job. Are you on any other medications? Have the side effects improved, at all?

I am taking dicetel for IBS symptoms. Since I have been taking it I have had problems with a flushed and somewhat inflame face. I have looked and can't find any mention of this as a side effect. Is it possible? ## Hi Sharc, I actually just came across some info listing skin allergies as a side effect of Dicetel. It is possible that you could've experienced an allergic reaction to one or more ingredients in the drug/tablet that could be causing this inflammation/redness. Ref: medbroadcast.com/drug_info_details.brand_name_AdverseEffects I hope this info helps to answer your question! Have you discussed this with your doctor yet? ## Thanks for the response. I did talk to my Dr. about this and he seems to think it is unlikely that it is a reaction to the drug. He told me to go off t...

I brushed my teeth and my toothbrush tasted funny. Then i couldnt catch my breath. My skin was flushed. Felt out of it so i drank alot of water. ## I brushed my teeth and my toothbrush tasted bitter. I felt out of it ,flushed, and couldnt swallow. My heart was racing too. My body was blotchy too. I drank alot of water. But worried about the after effects. ## Sorry to hear about your reaction to this product. But may I ask why anyone would feel the need to put "Liquid Heet Triple Action Pain Relieving Formula" on their toothbrush? The purpose of this product is intended for topical/external use only. It is also extremely flammable, so if you ingested some, I would recommended keeping away from fire or flame and avoid smoking during use until the product has dried. Otherwise you ma...

I have been on suboxone for around 2 months in the beginning it made me very sick for a week and now all of a sudden I am getting flushed on my neck and chest my skin itches and feels like it's on fire and my cheeks and hands swell it subsides slightly by the next morning but comes back in full effect after I take it again, my Dr says it's probably not a reaction to suboxone but I can't see it being anything else. I'm allergic to sulfa as well. Can anyone help ## Yes, Suboxone can make you very sick. Doctors don't know what they are taking about half the time. I was started on Suboxone and was on it for.several months. I was always nauseated and I could not digest any solid food. I lived on jarred baby food and nutrition drinks for nine months. I found a small round white pill that has M2 on one side and blank on the other side. I can't find an answer. doesn't matter, it's flushed. ## Smart handlling of it! It was 20mgs of Furosemide, a diuretic, used to treat high blood pressure, edema and congestive heart failure. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. You can read more here, if you wish: Is there anything else I can help with? ## that's not smart bc anything that gets flushed goes into our ground water, thus into drinking water, plants, ect.

I've finished my 22month course of 10mg/day. My doctor gave me the least dose to reduce side effects. Side effects were normal, dry skin joint pain etc. Recently I've been getting flushed very easily, several times per day on my cheeks and ears. I've finished the course 3wks ago and see improvement in terms of dryness on my lips and skin but the flushes seem to be getting worse. I've read it may take 2/3 months for accutane to get out of the body. How many more weeks till these flushes go as they make my face want to blow up with heat and its effecting me. Thanks!!

I put Murine ear drops into my eye mistaking it for Murine eye drops. I had hard contacts in my eyes. Searing pain! Had a hard time removing the hard lens. It stuck to my eye. Once out, I flushed my eye with eye flush for 15 minutes. 24 hours later my eye is still very sore. I saw a specialist. He said my eye will recover but will be sore for a few days. He gave me a steroid eye drop. Checked out the health of my eyes at the same time. All is now on the mend but still stinging. During the first night a cold pack on my eye was very helpful. Note to self "read labels carefully." ## Hello, Effie! Wow! I am very sorry about what happened. How are you feeling?
