Thanks ## The dosing varies, depending on the infection being treated and the severity of it, many cases only require one dose, but since your doctor prescribed it for 3 days, it's a fairly good guess that the infection is pretty problematic and they want to make sure to wipe it out. As to when to use the rest, unless they instruct you to do so, they probably just prescribed them as in case measure that aren't intended to be used. Some doctors will do this, so if the first round doesn't completely clear it up, they can just have you run to your pharmacy for another refill, rather than have to go in for another appointment. Are there any other ...

I was prescribed fluconazole for a yeast infection after taking antibiotics. I took the first dose two days ago 150mg. The prescription says to wait 3 days to take the second dose but I am still experiencing the symptoms and want to take it early. ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? For the best results, it is best to follow the prescribing instructions. The medication will not clear it up and alleviate all the symptoms immediately, it will take several days to work. Most prescriptions are just for one tablet, not two. The FDA classifies Fluconazole as an antifungal medication and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. I have mistakenly taken Fluconazole 150mg for 3 days in a row and not once a week as the dr prescribe for me. Is this an overdose? Do I need to seek help? ## Hello, Betty! How are you? No, it can be taken daily, though you may experience more side effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea and stomach pain. However, it would be best to inform your doctor, just to be careful and so they can prescribe more for the next few weeks, if necessary. How are you feeling?

i have been prescribed with fluconazole 150 for my yeast infection for 6 consecutive nights. yesterday night was suppossed to be the last one, but i forgot to take it! what should i do? ## What did you end up doing? You should have taken it as soon as you remembered. This isn't really as touchy as an antibiotic, since it's an antifungal, so the spacing of the dosages doesn't have to be exact . Has the infection been clearing up, yet? Any time that you have a question like this, please don't be afraid to ask your doctor or pharmacist, they will be happy to help you. I have taken one 150mg Fluconazole tablet to treat a yeast infection as a result of taking antibiotics. On the last night of taking my antibiotic I was in so much discomfort that I decided to take a Fluconazole to treat the thrush on the same night. I took my last antibiotic around (7pm and the Fluconazole much later at night before going to bed.) The symptoms have improved slightly within the last three days but I am still experiencing a very watery large amount of white discharge and red/soreness in that area. The Fluconazole I was prescribed had the instructions written by the pharmicist saying "Take one immediately and one in a week if required." It's been 3 days since I have taken it and was wondering whether it would be too early to try and take another as I am finding...

My GYN prescribed me FLUCONAZOLE USP 150mg and stated "take one immediately and the second in 3 days" this discomfort is unbarable. Could I take the second pill today as this is the second day from the first dose? If not, wat can I do to take away the pain and irritation?! ## Hello, Layla! How are you feeling? What are you taking it for? This medication is used to treat fungal infections, such as a vaginal yeast infection, but they are not painful, just itchy with a cottage cheese like discharge. So, if you're experiencing pain, you need to return to your gynecologist, because there could be something else going on and this may not be the right medication.
