I am a opiate addict trying to get clean, but suboxone has always made my withdrawal symptoms worse so I need help finding a doctor that can prescribe subutex instead of suboxone. My life dearly depends on it so please help me find a doctor asap. Thanks so much. ## Hello, Brandi! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've been having. However, worsening withdrawals, or precipitated withdrawals can occur with both of these medications. They both contain Buprenorphine, which takes a stronger hold on your opiate receptors than other opiates that are available, so they tend to kick out any residual opiates that are there and take their place, as reported by the NIH. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such a...

I had osteomyelitis a few years back. Was on methadone & vicodin until I got pregnant with my son. Got switched to suboxone and have been on it since. I've recently been diagnosed with ADHD, I'm 32 & it explains so much now. Anyway, I need to find a Dr who will be OK with writing me for both meds. Or 2 separate drs who will still be OK with me being on the meds ## Hello, Lilmama3! How are you? I'm so glad that you finally got the correct diagnosis. Yes, you'll need to see different specialists for such medications, so you'll need to see a psychiatrist to have Adderall, or another medication prescribed for the ADHD. You will most likely need to clear it with your Suboxone doctor, though, since these medications are also controlled substances. Do you currently ...

Does anyone know a doctor who will prescribe methadone on ct not a clinic? I cannot meet the hours for a clinic and I really need help ## Unfortunately, under current U.S. law, a private practice doctor is not allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment. They can only prescribe it for pain. You may want to consider trying Suboxone, since it doesn't require daily clinic visits. You can check for a doctor that treats with it in your area by using the search engine on the site Suboxone.com click here. The FDA classifies this mediation as an opiate, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Looking for a doctor who will prescribe methadone in the Charlotte, nc area. I have real pain due to a car accident back in 2000 when I broke my pelvis. I moved from Jersey to Nc and got the pain meds off of someone else and when I became pregnant I was told to go to a methadone clinic. I had no idea what I was doing or that I could easily have gone to pain management. I'm willing to drive almost anywhere within reason for a doctor who can give me methadone. I've tried subutex and suboxone but neither work. Please help ## Unfortunately, if you have gone to a Methadone clinic in the past, then that is in your medical records and a regular doctor will not be able to prescribe it for you. Whether you need it for pain or not, your prior addiction treatment is what will restrict them...

I am detoxing off 130 mg tht I have been on for 6 years. I need a doctor in VA or NC, I live near Norfolk. Everyone wants to prescribe suboxone but my doctor warned me that if I take suboxone and have ANY methadone in my system that it will throw me into SEVERE withdrawal. Also, we are going to be trying for a baby soon so I cannot take Suboxone while breastfeeding. If you know of a doctor in or around Norfolk VA that can prescribe Subutex, not Suboxone please notify immediately. ## Really, the same doctors that prescribe Suboxone can also prescribe Subutex. Learn more Suboxone details here. However, they are most likely going to want you to start with Suboxone, then switch to Subutex, when you are pregnant. They will just have you wait, until you are in full withdrawal to start the med...

I am addicted to strong pain meds and I am tired of having to come off of them, the withdrawal is awful. I went to a urgent care doc and was prescribed suboxone. I take anxiety meds too but he wants me to stop. I really need the anxiety meds but he wants me off them. How do I get him to change it from suboxone to methadone so I can take my anxiety meds? ## Legally, he can't. To get Methadone for addiction treatment in the U.S. requires that you go to an actual Methadone treating clinic, private doctors aren't allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment. What anxiety medication do you take? Did he say why he wants you to stop taking it? ## Valium and in sc he is licensed to prescribe and treat me sumboxone is like methadone it us prescribed the same as methadone ## how about ...
